Difficult to find this playing in Chicago, but finally got a chance to see it tonight. It's hard to watch someone self-destruct, but the writing and performances are amazing. Also, Marisa Tomei looks awesome at 45 years old. Good lord.

Yea man absolutely, it's anyone's game. That's a good article you referred to, it'll be interesting to see who wins out between the Cards' Pro Bowl receivers and the Steelers secondary. Also, Roethlisberger may put up mediocre numbers during the regular season, but he's a proven big-game QB. I'm obviously biased towards Warner and Arizona, but it should be a solid game any way you slice it.

But as much as I like to think otherwise, I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh will end up running away with it. But, I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, ergo, not really an Arizona fan either, but they are the lesser of the two evils.

The analysts had said that Atlanta, Carolina, and Philadelphia would run away with it, too. We'll see how it plays out, but it looks like Arizona has been thriving on being counted out in the post-season. My personal favorite was that bonehead Gene Wojciechowski's article "Let's Book Eagles for Tampa" on espn.com. If nothing else, it was satisfying just to see him fail.

I didn't want to jinx them before the game with Philly, but I've been a huge Warner fan since '99.

As of yesterday (Monday the 5th), every time I try to hit DN1 when using Safari, the browser goes into an immediate permanent "beach ball spin" (Mac term) state, and I have to force-quit. If there are any other Safari users out there, is anyone else having this problem?

wow,  im glad I'm not the only one that thinks so, and coming from you that makes me feel alot better since I know how much of a ST buff you are.

I've collected Street Fighter "memorabilia" (if you can call it that) from the US and Japan since 1994. I participated in the Midwest SF Tournament in '93. I have every SF game ever made for the SNES, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, and now the PS3. And, I think the artwork approach for SF4 is brilliant.

Nah, I get what you're saying.  While there are a number of opponents to the direction they've taken with SF4, both in  visuals and in gameplay, there are a lot who like it as well.  I'm still waiting to actually play the game before I make my final decisions on the gameplay side of things, but even if I like it that won't change the fact that I think Ryu and Ken, at the least, look horrible and they screwed up big time in story and character selection.

As for HD Remix, I played the trial/demo last night.  It does look very good, but it still feels so dated to me.. and what's with limiting the trial to (local?) 2P play?  I don't have a gold Live account at the moment, so I can't try it online even if the trial allows it, but I was hoping to at least see if the AI was as ridiculous as it was in the original SSF2T.

Yea man, it seems to be polar opposites with how people feel with the "living artwork" approach to SF4. People love it or hate it, especially on the Capcom boards. I can certainly see how it wouldn't appeal to everyone's tastes; when you go with something that stylized, that's always a risk.

I bought HD Remix and played it quite a bit last night. I ended up with a  thumb blister, which brought back memories of my nerd days of yore. The full version offers immediate access to Akuma (no more ridiculous code to trigger using him like the old arcade Turbo iteration), 4 levels of difficulty (the AI seemed tight even on "Medium"), training mode, etc etc. I want to get the groove back a bit before taking it online to thrash 13 year-olds. The Udon artwork is awesome, and you're right, it does feel dated. But for $15, I'm pleased.
