Sputnik wrote: Well, I hope I did Recursion Mervs some bit of justice. I never felt like a very good RPer and am pretty shy. I never felt like I had the personality for a Merv either and at first I was struggling with how I should act, but after meeting the great guys on Recursion I learned that there's more than one side to that org and the stereotype I'd connected to them was broken. I think my name never got out cause I wasn't around long enough ;p and I don't think I was on many people's radar, as I tend to melt into the crowd and be forgotten. I also don't post very often on the forums cause I get post shy and after writing something up I just hit the back page and decide not to post it. Honestly, by the time I'd been invited I'd given up hope of being invited and had decided to pump as much energy into my main and Insurgence as I could and that if I *did* get an invite I'd decline.... (LOL ;p) but when the time came I couldn't resist >_< ;p I was actually hoping to get a EPN spot when I was first invited, since I feel most comfortable RPing EPN... but Rarebit said I was too active on the other servers which I didn't quite understand since I was mostly on those characters for events or if I got bored. oh well :p things happen for a reason Merv I think is the hardest org for me to RP because I don't really know much about the org other than the severe basics and I didn't like them very much cause my only interaction with them had been pvp or possibly events on my main ;p so my weak knowledge of the org made me shy away even more. BTW, one of the hardest things for me to do when chatting with everyone in game was not to use smileys! I think sometimes I came off super cheerful cause I was trying to evoke friendliness without using smileys haha Toluca was a great co-liaison and I wish I'd gotten to work with Hattah. Quite a few people asked me about him when my liaison was introduced ;p and made me wonder what he'd been like. Toluca taught me quite a bit and guided me through my first event, etc. Although I had thought you were from the notorious PdS (All Spanish faction on Vector) ;p I learned a lot from you guys though, and it was fun while it lasted. I wish I'd been able to work with you guys longer as an "official" liaison longer and I'm sorry I fell off the map a bit. By the time I got invited, I was mostly playing for my faction mates and the events; so when the changes came about I really lost heart for a long time and then I was unsure if I would stay. Well, my decision was made for me and I hope I'll see some of you guys somewhere else. ok I think that's all I have to say ;p
Alyth! Haha, I told ya one day I was not PdS, probably you thought I was trying to cover myself. But no, I never been with them. PdS and me have a "love-hate" story since the beggining And yeah, was great to have you for the final few months of liaisoning... For the first time I had a real co-worker, and you did very very well!

Well, as some may know, I played Toluca and Nomatopoeic. My times in lesig started in a werid way. My account had just ran out by the time rarebit send the invites. I had it in autorenew, but my card was expired so the account bas canceled just for a day :p When we were to chose which server and org to liaison for, I picked EPN syntax. But then terentia decided to switch characters, and rare asked for an european timezone to switch over to recursion mervs. Since there weren't any other volunteers, I finally took that spot just a couple of hours before rarebit left the office on a Friday. He had to rename the character I created in syntax in order to free the Toluca name (some people even spotted that character in a LE, there are some screenshots of it). Then, rare published the new liaison list before I could even get a Merovingian tag, it was a bit scared that someone could spot me. Luckily, rare was quick enough to boost me to max rep, so it went smooth After half a year, I got enough money to buy a second account and started my Nomatopoeic project. I got clearance from rare to present in in a live event, and let the players design her RSI. I played both characters for almost a year, doing some events with Noma that attracted a small number of people, but that I think they enjoyed enough for such a bizarre character :p After a year, my personal situation was very different, and I could not afford to pay two accounts. And my mum lost her job... so I had to cancel Toluca's account. Thus, Noma became my LO character for a couple of months. Note that that also meant that I could not play my main anymore, but I was ok with it (i never really played it a lot after becoming Toluca). Then, rare announced to LESIG that the storytelling was about to change, and we'd be liaisons no longer, I was sad since I lost my main and only had a lowbie alt (Noma) that would be no liaison. But I managed to convince support to swithc the unused from the Noma account towards the Toluca/Glue one. So I had to hurry and set up a Noma death mini-event (anyway, the way noma died was planed since the beggining). After the end of Liaisons, I wanted to keep playing toluca and run some side stories I had in mind (Tranque might remember that I started talking about toluca's cousin), but the financial trouble made it impossible for me to keep paying even a single account. Besides Toluca and Noma, I've been involved playing minor characters in over 30 LE with rare and others lesigs. I've also helped in a few mini-events organized by other lesigs, like dreami in vector and trantra/haigen in syntax. I was also involved in the sentinel, until my financial problems arose. The biggest handicap in my lesig times was always language. I live in Spain and never had a chance to study English. MxO was my English 101, the few people that knew me since begging remember that I was almost impossible to understand. When I was invited to lesig 2.0, I created a "tex-mex" character, so when I was unsure on how to say something I could always fall back to Spanish I think I managed to communicate mostly okay over the time. Specially since you American people speak really weird (I still love you anyway) :p The other thing was the timing. Most events I had to organize for rarebit ended at around 5am in the morning for me. We could not start any sooner since Hattah could not attend (he did not attend at most, still, unfortunately). Still, they were a blast to organize. Almost two years playing Toluca almost daily, I must say that she became my main and Glue is just my alt. It's a shame that real life did not let to continue play her regularly after this last summer. Those days were just the best ones in my whole online life.

I don't think this is really true. A project like this would benefit from any help, even crappy computers can contribute, just slower. But Micro$oft won't enter in the same donating project so people could compare directly both machines; bad advertisement for them. Just like it's a good advertisement for the PS3 the rumor that the 360 is not powerful enough

It was a pleasure to assist the system once again. Agent Pace, you can always count on the Guardian of the 7th Gate.
(( It was a cool event, simple and funny. Sometimes it seems that we have to do every event bigger than the previous, but events like this are also fun and give the sensation of more everyday duty, which is realistic

There is a moment where the operator says that we'll find "dead bluepills", and what we find is dead SWATs. Since SWATs are usually leveled, I supposed they were programs; how could a bluepill be level 51? I suppose they could be bluepills, like the police guys in the first movie that got killed by Trinity at the first scene. But since our SWATs can be high level... I still find it weird that they are called bluepills in the mission Here's a screenshot:
Also the mission window said that it awarded me a rep point, which would be my 126th... but then I checked and I was stuck at 125 :'(

I might be wrong, but my undestanding is that even EPN isn't alowed to dock in zion. So why should cypherites live there, being enemies, if the more or less frienly EPN aren't there? Every organization has it's place in the real.

If I recall correctly, the event was first called "the hunt for Morpheus", and after the cinematic it was renamed "the hunt for the assasin"... ummm, and ended with the big corruptors thing, or it was the next event?

Basically: Green doors = Entrance (shows even without mission maps) Badges = NPC (starting possition, since the map doesn't update... Also shows dead NPC in some criticals) White doors = Special doors. There are basically three kinds: those that you have to unlock with a key (or lock picks), those that unlock when the security system detects you (thus letting out additional guards), and those that trigger events in some criticals. Green X = computers, mainframes, disable security and basically any clickable objective.

My humble opinion is that the Matrix is all about everything was always a lie. And it has been like that since the movies. The concept of the Matrix is that, Neo learns that with Morpheus in the first movie. Then, in the second one we see that the concept of the One was always a lie. There isn't anything more "matrixy" that this kind of revelations. Yes, some of those revelations might go against some of our player-rp. But you prefer to have some "static" world, rather than a more matrixy and deep storyline. As a machinist myself, I consider it a challenge to build a solid RP around this situation. Wouldn't it be too easy if the universe was static? Yes, they make us have to reconsider are we have always believed. But wasn't that what Neo had to do when learned what the matrix was? But wasn't that what Morpheus had to do when he knew that the concept of the One was a lie? I personally just assume that everything was always a lie. Perhaps, even what I'm writting has always been a lie

I can be wrong, but I think devs have confirmed several times that the duration setting of the mission is not really implemented, so you can put it to whatever you want, it won't affect your missions. The number of enemies is random. You can get standar missions with 10 enemies in a phase. Remember to put the mission to hard, so enemies are 1 level higher than you, which will get much better XP rewards and feeling of toughness.

Looking at the cinematic, it seems that the cypherite crew was actually looking for New Zion. Namely, they already know it was there, so they just need to confirm it. So, I think it's safe to assume Machines have know of that project for long, and probably know what is going on on there. ((How you RP "cinematic"? Something like "visual documents"?))

From 2000 to 1500 in what? 10 days? Impresive. I feel proud of the community. Our next milestone is top800, since extremeoverclocking gives individual statistic for only top800 teams! Once we reach that place, we will have similar statistics for users (i.e, production estimates, projected overtackes and so). The 800th team has 727k points, a bit more than twice our points; so it will take a while but we will get there! Strykre01 is doing a very good job! I guess he'll be the next month's folder.

There have been rumors of the xbox going to another similar project. But if they do that, everybody will check the numbers and see that the ps3 is objectively more powerfull that the xbox. Micro$oft won't enter a competition they can't win. Probably they might enter a very different project where comparision is not that easy. And yay! I think we will get to the top 2k in a day or two! Yes the PS3 has it specific version, which is optimized for the CELL processor. Due to the power of the PS3, and algorithms designed specifically, it takes about 8 hour to finish a Work Unit, while on PC it can last few days. I think they don't have all the algorithms ported for the PS3, only those that can be run more effectively by its processor. It's great that Raijinn announced this thread in the looking glass! After 2 months of MXO folding, this announcement will give us a fresh injection of new folders *claps raijinn*

When a team gets in the top 2000, there is a 3rd party webpage with nice statistics: http://folding.extremeoverclocking....m/team_list.php After the anouncement in the looking glass, I think we will gather some more computer and PS3, so we can enter that page! And yeah, a title for the most productive folders will be great :p
