This thread I decided to start for all those funny, wacky, weird, ironic, or just plain strange NPC names that randomly come up when you run your missions or activate your archives.  The NPC names are randomely generated from a database of names (right? ... I assume) and some of them come up are really weird or funny.  And some of them might be sort of normal but are out of place on a strange looking NPC.  Some of them are combinations, like 2 NPCs in the same room with with an ironic combo like Jessica & Simpson (just and example) ... heh heh

Display your encounters with strange named NPCs - or list some of the crazy names you have come across. I know I have come across some really weird ones!  And some names may even be hidden, that come up on the very rare occasion if your lucky enough to /randomly encounter them.  Tell a tale or just list names - post some pics if you got them.

This is more of a tiny modification request.  Sort of spawned from a slight rumor of an addition of pants to the Femme Gi Tiger Warrior's outfit - (which it that ugly coat atm). 

It is in regards to a very old collector's item - the TIN CAN'S HEADGEAR

This is a rather popular item because of the jumping bonuses it grants.  BUT only one thing bothers me ... being a graphics person and someone who likes art and fashion.  The male version of the hat is a Barret - it looks very nice.  Steely grey, like it should.  But the female version is, see below:

Uhm ... yeh .... it looks RIDICULOUS!! In some ways.  Maybe some girls like it as a bright white, shiny cowgirl hat ... but I for one don't!  Now my question is - why is it a barrett for the guys and a cowboy hat for the girls?  Shouldn't it be the same for both?  Preferably both a Barret?  So - while Mr. Rarebit is putting some pants on that Gi, do you think he could possibly change this thing to something less silly for the gals?  Pretty please sweet stuff?  K-thx much!

I'd love to hear from you all.  Maybe someday we should have a meetup in downtown Seattle - (minus Rarebit, who would never come out anyway, especialy if he knows I am there).  Maybe us Seattlite MxOers can hold our own little convention.  That would be cool.  Maybe I can organize something. 

Lets have some lattes and MxO - that would be very fun indeed.

Technicaly the Chinese New Year doesn't begin untill February 7th, unlike ours.  2008 is a new 12 year cycle and will be THE YEAR OF THE RAT.  So rat types - this is your year!  Good fortunes to you all!   
And Dragon types like me are most compatible with rats - so don't worry, I won't eat you.  Rabbits on the other hand .... they might taste good roasted with some rosemary and thyme seasonings!  yum!

That is all that I desperatly ask for.  Maybe it would make it one hell of a lot easier to use that damned AH for once. 

That is all - you may now start all negatively critisizing me left and right about why you don't think you want this to ever be implimented like you always do anytime someone mentions something that might actualy improve your gameplay.

Here is something that I think might help when you play around with the color values in your useropts.cfg file.  As I have been experimenting with it recently (mostly to try and temporarily find fixes for some of my bug issues).  But for those that want to make exciting and dynamic color effects for screencaps and movies with the useropts.cfg file - here is the values and what they mean explained.

For those that don't necessarily know about how RGB works in the computer world - I'll explain digital color theory as easily as I can.  I think this is the right spot for it - mods can replace it if they want to.  Some probably already know about RGB vs CMYK - especially artists.  But for the rest - here you go:

Some settings in your useropts file are sort of fun to experiment with. If you leave most of the lighting on - you can play with the ambient colors and create some neat and fun lighting effects. RGB is the color scale of things digital: Red - Green - Blue, are the light waves that your monitor and TV use to produce what you see. Printing pictures, drawing and coloring yourself naturally run on CMYK (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black).  That is why when you print something - it doesn't always match what you see on your computer screen.  As printers use CMYK ink, not RGB ink.  I was a Laser Light show animator a while back - and working with extremely bright color light was my specialty.  Also I add that Pure Black and Pure White are not considered true colors.  They are considered shades, values of the light spectrum all squished together - values of grey come from combining B&W as we all know.  And adding values of B/W to a color make that color darker or lighter. 

 If you want to experiment with some color effects in the game with your useropts.cfg, and want to know what certain RGB values do before you apply them. I suggest opening a graphical program (like Photoshop) - and setting the pallet to RGB. This will help you understand how colors are made. The basic color wheel in an RGB setting will help you figure out what colors do what. 
0-100 are the maximum values you can set (i think).

0-100 RGB explained (in as easy as I can terms):

R=100 is pure red
G=100 is pure green
B=100 is pure blue

R=100
G=0
B=100
Should produce Purple - as red and blue make purple (from those art lessons you had in school)
*Setting a color to 0 means that it is considered Black - and either won't render or darken the color till it reaches pure black.  So - setting say, R=0 will turn off the Red color completely.  If you set a color to 50% (example: G=50) then that color will be considered 50% of green value from black.  You will get a darker green.  100% value means that the color is at it's top value to white.  So that is why say B=100 will result in pure hard blue.

This pertains to the gaming world as your video card outputs color values of lighting, textures and model & object coloring.  Have fun!

Mini-Pets!  How about making mini pets out of the Pigeons?  A little pigeon that follows you around.  You don't have to make any new models or anything - maybe just change the colors on the textures slightly.  Players can collect special Pigeon carriers that when opened, release a cute little pet pigeon that follows out (more or less like an escort npc does).  Not to hard to implement - and it just makes it fun.  Players really dig mini-pets in other games, even if just to have one.  You can make some rare pets, unique colored ones. 

 Also - make a Red-Eye imposter Agent a Simulacrum- thing.  Don't have to change the model or anything, just make the imposter agent a sim-thing.  Why?!  Because that would be ultra cool and it gives them a new purpose and a use.
