Ok, so can't login, finally got my PM's back, but now I can only post in Off-topic. Not even in Redpill Rescue or the tech forums. Come on. Edit: well, I guess I'll just take my full refund and leave then. CSR's didn't have anything positive, and I couldn't care less about what happens now. I was planning to at least try out the Agency, but after this shiiiiiiiit, no thanks. Edit 2: Huh. Looks like I can post again. Ok, this can be deleted.

SOE's Vivox chat for its MMO's now has a name: Station Voice.
Also, check this out. I'm just gonna guess most people probably know which MMO isn't slated to get it. I know I didn't expect to get it.

Yes, that's right. Paul Chadwick is alive and kicking. He finally updated his blog again, although it's not MxO related.

This isn't MxO-related graphical work I'm asking for here, but I know our community has some *CENSORED* good photoshoppers/graphic artists, so I decided to see if you guys could pull this off for me. I'm in Student Government for my Junior class in High School, and we're looking for a design/logo to put on our posters for Prom this year. The name of our Prom's theme is Studio '08, which is for a club theme in 2008. The main idea I'd had was putting a lit neon sign saying Studio '08 out in the middle of a darkened dance floor, but how you wanna do this is up to you.
Although the basis of the name must remain Studio '08, feel free to format how you'd like (e.g. Studi08, Studio 08, etc.). I'm going to show the entries to other people in my year's Student Government, and we'll pick the winner. I'm thinking prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and I still need to determine the prize in $info. I was thinking 20 million, 10 million, 5 million, but unfortunately, only my Syntax character has that kind of money right now, so I may need to be working hard to make up if the winner needs it on a different server.
I may also have an addition (with just a small bit of $info) to ask of for the winner, which is mainly adding my High School, location, and date to the image (I was hoping for a kind of laser look for this part). I'm not putting that information out yet though, because I don't see any need to release to just anyone on the internet. Anyway, thanks for your help in advance!
EDIT: Oh, I need a deadline. Well...I was hoping to get this stuff as soon as possible, but w/e. Right now I'm putting the contest through January 21st (2 weeks), but I may extend it to the end of the month.

Well, 2007 is drawing to a close, and MxO is still chugging. Even with a small dev team, we've seen some nice additions this year. I finally subscribed to MxO this year instead of just playing a trial account a couple of times, and I've really enjoyed it. Now, I want to see what everyone else thinks.
What has been your favorite addition this past year?
What was your favorite event/moment from the year?
What did you like and dislike about the storyline?
What are you looking forward to/hoping for in 2008?
Add in any other comments you want, I figure we'll get some pretty cool responses on everything about this past year.

Ever been confounded by the twisting and turning White Hallways in the International District? Here's a guide to help you know your way around. Who knows, maybe you'll find you like this alternative mode of travel (regardless if you're fighting the Elite Commandos or not).
White Hallway Doors Locations
District X Y Z Leads To (Z=700)
Shinjuku (main) -40 1 436 => 906 81 Ikebukuro 722 -10 3 => 1050 21 Furihata -387 1 -331 => 906 141
The White Hallways: T-shape
The regular, T-shaped White Hallways always spawn you with a Z coordinate of 700, and the X and Y coordinates listed below are all where you spawn at after going through a door. Each of these hallways has two doors leading from it, one down the left of the T, the other at the end of the right of the T. Some of these Hallways lead to other T-shaped Hallways, to the Square Hallways, or back outside to certain spots in the International District. X values run right to left, Y values run up and down. On top, I show how you get to a Hallway, on bottom shows where Left and Right bring you. Note: Square Rooms have a Z coordinate of 530.

I know there's a few of them, but why not add in a few more messages that you get when you reach certain levels? It'd help players that aren't as in the know about content realize what all they can do. For example, around lvl 13, you could tell the player that they could go the the International district to mission. Or at lvl 20, explain about the Archives and Archive Missions. Somewhere in there, explain about the Corruptor quest. Lvl 40 or so could explain the Pandora's Boxes. Lvl 50 can explain Elite commando quest, Area K, etc.

TheUnknownShadow had a talk today with Brad Wilcox, Head Executive of SOE Global Customer Services, as well as Sharon, Head of MxO's Customer Service.
The original thread can be found on The Station Community Forums
Here are the responses, as shown by TheUnknownShadow (2 posts):
A COUPLE OF GENERAL THINGS BEFORE YOU READ THROUGH First, the number of various legal issues that are slowing down certain things within the game are amazing. I didn't know the full extent of it until I started discussing these things in detail with Brad and Sharon (Sharon's MxO's head of Customer Service) Apart from that, do read on!
QUESTIONS ABOUT SOE RUNNING THE GAME
- More active advertising ~ there's been some little bits recently, for example 06/19/07 All Games Interactive Radio interview with MxO dev - Rarebit. Oh and trying the Algorithm:Black stuff to raise interest are all good steps to a wider recognition.
1. Can anything be done to up promotion and advertising for our game? There's been a few largely successful promotions, but upgrading the official website, or cross-developing the features of the game and promoting them... would be astounding. SWG has promotions that give special in-game items. We should have the same. REPLY Ok, first thing that was first with this is that increased game advertising through using things like player videos, artwork etc etc is something that Virrago can actually setup as a thing between us (the community), him and our marketing team. That includes setting things up like and MxO myspace and youtube page (rawr!) In terms of website adjustments, that is all on the top of Virrago's list of things to do and is already becoming self evident of him trying to get things sorted. It is perfectly possible for us to start doing promotional competitions for the players to get some in-game item or even potentially have a new item designed off their idea. This would have to be set up by Virrago, who would run all aspects of it, starting with the initial concept being planned out between himself, the players and developers. This would then have to be checked for approval as even when something like this is setup there are legal issues that need to be covered and placed in clear view at the start of a competition of this type. - What has SOE contributed to The Matrix Online in the past 3 months that the community ought to know about?
1. I guess the blunt question here....is SOE going to commit it's resources to maintaining this game and take steps for increased player subscriptions? Or are plans in effect to shelve this game? 2. What i ask is, will anything ever be done to rectify the development spiral the game has been falling down ever since the acquisition? REPLY This one was quite hard for them to respond to as it's not really possible for them to discuss specifics of a lot of this (mainly funding based) with a player. At this time there are no plans to shelve the game though as it's consistently maintaining its targets. The second question is based on your own opinion on other answered questions so I'll leave this be - The Matrix Online needs some sort of better mention on the Podcasts, not simply brushed over.
REPLY The SOE podcast is totally run by Brenlo and Ashlanne. If you want something mentioned in it (like a player event) you'd need to contact Virrago to pass the details of this onto Brenlo. Equally, MxO news needs to be handled by Virrago passing details over to Brenlo, go it's going to be a case of asking him specifically about it now he's in charge of community relations.
QUESTIONS ABOUT FORUM ISSUES
- Issues with over-Moderated forums
1. As far as everyone is aware of, there are Matrix Online players who have been abusing their moderating power, essentially censoring whatever legitimate complaints there are. Are there going to be actions carried out against such moderators? REPLY Again, this is an issue that they're letting Virrago deal with behind the scenes. The last thing that was wanted was to have players silenced who had genuine concerns about the game. - About our new CRM - Now that we have Virrago as our new CRM, is there any guarantee that he'll be working specifically with the MxO community for a long period? He's promising, and I would hate for him to end up being split with other games five months from now.
REPLY Virrago is now our fixed CRM. The issue previously was that Raijinn was trying to cover 6 (yes 6) games and he had only come in to cover Walrus to start with when he stepped down. - What really interests me is the possibility of putting in place a system (and legalities) by which players can submit content for the game. Many of us are talented in webwork, graphics, coding, etc and are more than happy to submit elements for future use by the Development team. This could range from something as simple as another billboard run to something as involved as new clothing designs or even outsourcing animation tasks.
REPLY (As was stated above) this is something that Virrago can start to setup for us in terms of submitting concepts. In terms of physical coding and webwork etc that needs to be covered by various aspects of the SOE team. REPLY As there were a lot of issues on the website specifically, I'm not going to go into them all as a lot of them get the same answer. All content for uploading onto the main page of the site has to be sent off by Virrago to the web development team. This includes news, guides and any number of missing things. You'll notice that Virrago has already got the ball rolling on player guides. Put simply, yes they know that there are a lot of issues surrounding the condition of the site and they're working on how the community can now work with Virrago to get all the best stuff up onto there.

I know that changes to the website are difficult, but I thought I'd make the thread for people to share ideas on what they'd want changed/added to the website.
Mine, for starters:
-Get the guide up there (this requires a new build I guess but it shouldn't be that hard) -Put up a image saying we're on Update __!! -Put up an image saying we're in Chapter _._ of the MxO storyline -Many more but I can't think right now

My subscription to MxO ends on September 11th.
No, I haven't lost interest in the game, the story, the community, etc.
I unfortunately don't currently have time to be in game more than about an hour or two a week. School and sports are taking up nearly all my time, and although my seasonal job ended this weekend, freeing up all further weekends, I just can't fit in time to play the game as much as I would like.
However...this isn't a goodbye thread!
I should be back sometime around November-Decemberish. I won't be back any earlier, but rest assured I'll keep up with the game just as I have the past couple of years. MxO is still my favorite MMO that I've played, and I'll definitely be back.
I guess I'll give a shout out to our dev team, who still manages to pull off some great stuff, Insomnia Diversion, the Syntax Cyph liaisons, and of course the rest of the community.
It sucks to have to say this but I'll see you all later.

Are luggable buffs supposed to stack? I had the LED black box in Downtown then went to International (dropping LED obviously) and got the Bomb Pet. However, I have both the graphical effects and the buffs for both luggables. Is this supposed to happen? Seems like if you got all three you'd be tough to beat. Btw, if you wanna come get me, I'm still in International on Syntax with the Bomb Pet

Every time I log in, I can't stay in for more than about an hour. It always gives me this message, within 10 minutes either way of an hour after logging in: Login Error Login Rejected Shutting Down I've been getting this error ever since joining the game a few months ago. I never had this problem with my old computer that I used with trial accounts, so I figure it has something to do with how the connection is configured on this computer. System Information and so on is coming in another post. Oh yeah, I've had this happen on all servers, and during just about any activity imaginable (missioning, just sitting there, fighting, jumping, you name it).

Some of you may have read my question in Ask A Dev, but I thought I'd bring it here to see if we could get more ideas on it. I was thinking (after reading about something like this in another SOE game) about us being able to have NPC drops sold from prop vendors for use in player events. Rarebit mentioned he was worried about exploits, which I assume to mean they'd be used in regular fights to make unfair advantages. I did mention how it could have a pandora's box-like "don't be within 100m of a HL" rule. Anyone else like this idea, or have suggestions on how to prevent exploits of this? I thought it'd be a pretty cool small addition to be able to use in RP.

I dunno if my computer is having weird glitches, or if it has always been this way, but are there random sound clips from MxO on the forums? Earlier I had one of the main MxO songs on, then closed out to see if it was real. A second ago I just had Commander Lock say something like "All systems go" or something. Is this normal, or is anyone else getting this too?

Now, obviously many games have accomplishment-like systems in place, but for many people clamoring for any type of content, I see this as being pretty simple to implement. Rewards could range from XP to info to rare items, depending on the accomplishment. You could have accomplishments for tagging all hardlines, getting 500 cq points, defeating 100 Bathary Boys, hitting someone with Extreme Falling Kick 1000 times, etc. I wouldn't think this would be too hard of a thing to implement, as the game would only have to count how many of something you have. Ideas?

It's probably the same cut that was on the Matrix: Revolutions extras, but I thought it was worth mentioning nonetheless. It's way, way, way at the bottom of the page. http://dvd.ign.com/articles/775/775319p1.html

Well, I've been a part of two different trials for this game. First, for the very beginning of the game, with the Hunt for Morpheus. At that time, my graphics card was horrible and couldn't handle the game. The second time was recently, with a new graphics card, but unfortunately not the funds to stick with the game. Finally I got off my butt and got a better job, and I'm finally here to stay in this game. I will say that I've always loved the Matrix franchise, and have followed this game from its launch. I've loved watching the storyline evolve, which is why I've decided on MxO over other MMO's I've played. I've watched all the cinematics (thanks to the links in the storyline-mission forums), read mission summaries, and read Rarebit's awesome Live Event posts. I've found that even with some of the odd bugs; the storyline, and simply how much I enjoyed this game during the trials, is enough to pull me into this. Haven't yet chosen which character I want to use as my main or on what server, but regardless, see you guys in the Matrix.
