In regards to this, aside from the Unlimit arc, I'm quite satisfied with the storyline from 1.1 to 8.3.  9.1 and beyond dragged out far too long and to me seemed to meander off into jump the shark land by 12.1.  Although had Rare been able to make it through to the end of Chapter 14, I think it might have resolved itself satisfyingly.  Chapter 15 on I cant even concieve of

The good robot from Matriculated got sick of waiting for someone to come but no one did.  He grew in power and went to Machine City and beat up Deus Ex Machina.  He then made a spaceship, got a ragtag crew of robots, some exile friends that he made into holograms, and some redpill buddies.  They shotted into outer space and travelled the galaxy where hilarious antics, misadventures, and hijinx ensued.

So we spent time to take screenshots and post them, but we never got any answer about it. Apart for that, we would discuss about what we liked in events, but this was mostly a conversation between ourselves.

Eventually, Rarebit bagan to understand how we could make his job easier, and help him throw impromptu events. Innocently, he asked us if we wanted to do some sexy hostesses for a Merovingian party. He gave us nice dresses, and we went in game with him to entertain the players. They sure did like our performance! I was playing some pale skinned Asian, and I remember being hit on a lot, and flirting with some girl there, who really wanted me. Weird and kinky.

I remember one of these parties in Club Succubus on Vector   I have some screens and remember the hawtness (and had sexeh names too IIRC) 

Not only that but I keep a lvl 1 alt that I've grown quite fond of.  I've used him for dual clienting / mission scaling.  Plus, you can go back into the tutorial if you want to.  You know to maintain a lvl 1 character you just /suicide out of the tutorial.  Just dont kill any choppers or tag any hardline.  Oh and another fun fact...if you run an "Easy" mission at lvl 1 your NPC's will all be level zero

Still, you play the hand youve been dealt.  By SOE putting aboslutely nothing into the game, naturally the subscriber base will dwindle away.  And I'm not saying they should have spent all kinds of money on the game, but even just a little token marketring on their own sites, getting an intern to assist etc. would have helped.  Instead, they were committed to giving exactly zreo percent support to this game.   So no wonder the game ends up getting shut down.  Neither WB or SOE (or the fickle public for that matter) is blameless.

BTW the Twin rsi mod has them wearing the purple goggles since their base sunglasses are apparently Void shades.  (Also I actually use void shades as casual sunglasses so now I dont have any good sunglasses to wear).  Maybe that mod can be switched to another model of sunglasses easily obtained at any vendor.  Just a suggestion.

I agree.  I think we should be able to have access to holiday stuff, for mostly asthetic and nostalgia reasons.  If they didn't imbalance the game during each respective holiday event, they wont imbalance them now.

Probably the best thing and most helpful, as someone who has gone from my mid to late thirties in this game, is to gain much insight into the next generations culture and philosophy, not to mention the internetz culture surrounding it.

Some of my peers worry about you guys, I sure don't.  We have a lot more in common than say, either of us and the baby boomer generation.  I'm optomistic for the future.

I agree.  Just change it to a flat rate.  I've been here since Beta and I've never gotten higher than 125 rep in 4+ years.  I'd like to see the final graduation mission.  Also, I know Othinn and others want to record / document these final graduation missions.

Why it took five times for it to work, I don't know. I replicated this several times over, and it worked for me each time. If I did it less then five times,  the authentication did not go through. I did not have to do an actual full system check.

Needs to start without workarounds.

I should be able to log in as I have been for over four years.  I shouldnt have to run full system checks every time or jump through any other crazy hoops.

I feel the final nail in the coffin was hammered in by us the Players who didnt give Rarebit the chance to see what he had planned.

The beginning of the end was when Rare decided to reinvent the wheel and change a dynamic, constatly evolving storyline-based game into a static griding-based game.  I understand his problem (overdoing it to the point of burnout), but I feel his cure was worse than the ailment.  He could have just toned things down like doing one weekly event instead of five.  But, he tried to change MxO into World of MatrixCraft overninght.  And thats the antithesis of why most of us became attracted to this game in the first place. 

Big surprise it didn't work out.  When he stopped Live Events alltogether (I dont count the monthly Polyvinyl board meetings), thats when things started to fall apart.

I dont even know if, had Rare stayed on and clung stubbornly to his New Approach, we wouldn't have had the same outcome (albeit the game might have ended a little later).

Rare was a great asset to this community and did some fantastic things for us, but not everything is black and white.

I'm stuck on auth, always been subbed.

Now we pre-May 27th players get our turn of Fail, yay!

Please fix.  /sigh

I've been lobbying for this (unlocking masks) since soon after Rare left.  Especially since we have RSI masks already.  It doesn't unbalance the game whatsoever.

I agree asking for all sorts of stupid stuff will just muddy the waters and get us all put on /ignore.  Not so much what Sugaree is asking for but really dumb requests like asking for Trojan Horse/Zen Master abs, Powerplant District, Assassin's Masks for everyone, and giving people the Meatwad/Shock Dev Ability.
