I am kind of tired of content you need a group for to get and did NOT expect this in the new quest system. + the points that Kindeller made I think we should get those quests to scale to the size of the team and to the lvl so if one person solos it they dont get to fight lvl 65s or w/e. This is something that is possible and the system is already there. I am still amazed that it's not used fully and expected it to be used in the new quests.

In order to accurately test you would need more than 1000 test samples.  That said however, before the combat revision Wrist Throw had a 40% chance of stun.  It's possible that it wasn't changed greatly and if that's around the same it would put EFK at about 10%.

I already know that one, I even asked him personally over PMs but he never replied to that specific one, he has a habit of replying to only some of my PMs. I was hoping that someone else might know the stun % for certain.

In any case, yours is still a guess and so is mine: The EFK % is rather around 5%, placing Wrist Throw to 20%. I guess I'll have to redo that PM.

More like 1% and 4%....

If I remember right, apparently your roll will range from 1 to your accuracy on either end of the bell curve. With 1 and your accuracy on the extreme ends and the number in the middle being the most likely to be rolled. I have no idea how you worked the maths out that increasing your accuracy (And thus shifting the leading end of the bell curve to the right) will make lower rolls more likely.

If you have an accuracy of 150pts, the minimum is (always) 1 and 150pts is your maximum on your roll, 75pt being the most propable roll (median). Because the only way to influence the gaussian curve is by increasing the right maxima, I've always wanted to ask: Can we get a chance to influence the curve more? ( minimum shifts, median shifts, etc.)

How exactly do you imagine the description for the bonuses you're talking about be? Also, if it's under a gaussian curve form it is so that it applies a random effect thus making the gameplay being affected by "luck" (you could get high rolls or low rolls). This is why you can sometime win a duel and then lose the duel with unchanged attributes on either side, just because you had a different roll, or bad luck if you want. Besides the fact that i can't imagine an apparel item have a i.e. Minimum Accuracy Roll Bonus (2%) - not to mention the complications that might occur from making new bonuses, i don't think they'd wanna change the gameplay to give you control over hazard , if you understand what i mean.

CR1 was complete control over your rolls, CR2 is the opposite. You can only affect the maximum roll, anything else is "random", "luck". The only thing that lets you win more often is knowledge about the abilities, tactics, clothing and behaviour of opponents (the "real" skill).

Also: Bonuses do not effect the roll directly, they affect the Maximum (possible roll). If I wanted to influence my minimum possible rolls, it would be with pts and boni ("Minimum Accuracy", "Minimum Accuracy Bonus", not "Minimum Accuracy Roll Bonus", because as 9mm told me recently, rolls are absolute,  the unchangeable end result). Adding those pts and boni into the roll calculation isn't much of a work, adding all the boni and pts correctly to all the trees and styles (and hopefully balanced at that) is the real work (which is probably why -still- nobody has added thrown def %). To change the median is a tad more difficult to implement I guess, though.

Giving control to e.g. the minimum is IMO a large improvement in gameplay by adding another dimension to consider by the players (higher chance for high rolls (but with higher chance to fail since it expands the curve) or higher chance for average rolls (more secure)). Right now the system is too random (exceptions *cough thrown def* confirm the rule).
This.

Oh and -10% IS regen on the pants isn't enough for a balance since I am yet to see an item with just 35% HP regen and all the other stuff on it and since most people wear 2 IS regen items anyway.

The intended model is something akin to the meeting of Zion captains held at the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded. This type of openness and flexibility was simply not possible under the old scheme of pre-planned, pre-scripted, daily and weekly events and missions.

- The small-scale live events that we've been doing on a daily basis will still occur from time to time--in general, when specifically required by the main story

I'd rather have the small-scale LE that happens once a month than the meetings every 3-4 months.  That's a step back Rarebit, not a step foward.
he said once per update not once every 3-4 months and the small scale events will still occur (I hop more often than once a month)

How is changing it from % to pts making it have more incentive for people to HJ or HL out? It's just changed since we have a flawed system with non dynamic buffs.  And if DE is removed, no that wont stop people to HJ away or HL out but they would have much less reason to do so.

No but it will give them less reason to do so. I prefer a DE where you cannot initiate combat and cannot be initiated in combat for 1 minute and some debuff like -30% speed for 5 mins since the normal debuff on everything screws up the system. Or change it to points debuff like -15 pts all stats and going away over 5 mins. That way we wont need to keep rebuffing ourselves after it wears of and if it stacks like 4 deaths we will need to wait before fighting again.  In any case it should be something that doesn't compromise our non dynamical system and something not too much overdone.

DE is just stupid the way it works since our buffs are non-dynamic. It has also been bugged ever since beta. A removal of DE would also make more people stop from HJ/HL out on EVERY occasion since they lose. Also the info loot idea is good, but added to it if a player has any kind of code bits instead of losing them they should drop them on death for the "killer" to pick up if they want as loot (since some people press recon so fast there is no time to "loot" the normal way).

After a quick test-run. You're right, you get a -20 CT bonus from Stun (which in IL only affects your normal interlock rounds), but I couldn't find anything regarding Confuse besides the switch tactics. It's in essence, from what I could tell, a powerless that doesn't allow you to switch tactics, which honestly from the intentions of the game's combat system really shouldn't let you switch tactics anyways because "technically" that's an exploit that somehow is accepted because it's used so often.

Even so, that doesn't change the fact that these happen less than half the time (30% on Suicidal, and unknown for the Wrist Throw, but still not 100% as we know it), as opposed to the 100% PRCS. Wrist Throw has 31 DPS with a 65 IS cost, Suicidal with a 35 IS cost and 25 DPS, and PRCS totalling in at 21 DPS and a 40 IS cost. The only thing that seems a little off is the huge jump of IS cost with Wrist Throw, with Kung Fu having Average, Karate having Above Average, and Aikido having Below Average damage which is normal in the differences for the trees. PRCS also has the highest Interlock Accuracy boost of all three of them, at 20 compared to WT 18, and SBF 7 (lol). It just amazes me how this move has a 100% chance to powerless as opposed to the lower percentages (SBF being 30% which is very low compared the 70% increase of PRCS) of the others.

It just doesn't seem like to me the huge increase in percentage is compensating for one round in which you can't tactic switch or you might possibly lose due to a negative CT debuff (not like you'd be doing any abilities to tactic switch anyways, unless you're just sitting on block which wouldn't matter or grab, which again wouldn't matter. I actually don't see why you'd want to change especially for MA when it's just grabpowergrabpower with the ability spam. It's rare for people to go for states once they've gone past the initial going into interlock round.).

Comparing it yeah it seems Wrist throw and PRCS should be rebalanced. However that last comment is completely inaccurate for good MAs, which is why syntax has the worst MAs.
Syntax has the worst MAs, yet really there is no way to compare the difference between Recursion or Vector to Syntax, so technically although you may find that true to yourself, that's just your personal opinion from a tournament rarely anybody shows up to anymore probably because they don't care about being the best MA ever, imo (no offense). At least on Syntax.
That's an oppinion of 10 people I know, and the purpose of the tourneys was to see which server had best players.

Anyhow since after 5 threads about rebalancing wrist throw and yet no effect I doubt this will happen either (too tired of talking to the wall, so don't really care anymore).

Since aikido has generally buffs and effects and low damage I think just lower PRCS as Zippy said. It's a countermeasure for those who use aikido. Maybe increase the reuse timer to 14 seconds so it can't be spammed. Similar ability in the kung fu section is butterfly which also rarely misses and has a chance to confuse (worse than powerless in IL) and in karate wrist throw (which is yet to be balanced), which has a chance to stun. 40 IS for low dps and 100% powerless seems all fair to me (I haven't used that move in over a half year).
