I just got that e-mail from SOE... RE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MATRIX ONLINE – THE MATRIX ONLINE SERVICE WILL END ON JULY 31, 2009 Dear MxO Subscriber, We want to inform you that on June 1, 2009, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will suspend commercial services of THE MATRIX ONLINE (MxO). However, SOE will continue to operate the game service and players will still be able to play MxO through July 31, 2009. As of June 1, 2009, SOE will no longer offer customer support or provide updates for MxO, and active subscribers with accounts in good standing will not be billed after that date. MxO subscribers who have prepaid subscription time that extends their subscription period past June 1, 2009 will receive a pro-rated refund for any such pre-paid excess subscription payments*. Such refunds are expected to be issued by October 1, 2009. We welcome those active MxO subscribers in good standing to play one or all of the following SOE massively-multiplayer online PC games at full paid subscriber status at no cost between June 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009 (subject to the terms and conditions described below) using the same Station Account you use to subscribe to MxO**: Free Realms™, EverQuest®, EverQuest® II, and Star Wars Galaxies™. To access and download the game software for EverQuest, EverQuest II, or Star Wars Galaxies, begin by downloading Station Launcher here for free: http://launcher.station.sony.com/. To initiate the download of Station Launcher simply click on the "DOWNLOAD BETA" button. Once the download is complete, Station Launcher will serve as your one stop shop for access to all the identified online games except Free Realms, which can be found at www.freerealms.com. We value having you in our player community and hope that you will find a new home in one of these other SOE games during this trial period. During the last two weeks that MxO will be available, we intend to initiate a world-ending event and invite our active MxO subscribers with accounts in good standing to participate in bringing Mega City down together. We will go out with the same level of dramatic in-game event that has kept this game exciting over the years. Get ready to jack in and become part of the final chapter of the story! We appreciate your loyalty and commitment and look forward to seeing you in another SOE game. Sincerely, Sony Online Entertainment *Please log in to your Station Account to update your billing address. If a valid credit card is active on your account, refunds will be applied to such credit card. If your account is paid via SOE Game Card or other retail game time card, we will send a check in the refund amount to your current billing address. **Offer valid between June 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009. If, as of June 1, 2009, you are not already a subscriber to Station Access, EverQuest, EverQuest II or Star Wars Galaxies or have a paid membership to Free Realms, this offer will provide you with access to the current retail versions of EverQuest® Seeds of Destruction™, EverQuest® II The Shadow Odyssey, Star Wars Galaxies™: Complete Online Adventures, and full membership status to Free Realms (greater access than the current trial versions of such games and non-membership status to Free Realms ) through July 31, 2009. If, as of June 1, 2009, you have an active Station Access subscription or subscription in good standing to one or more of these games, but have not purchased the game software for EverQuest® Seeds of Destruction™, EverQuest® II The Shadow Odyssey, or Star Wars Galaxies™ Complete Online Adventures, this offer will provide you with the opportunity to experience these games until July 31, 2009. With respect to Free Realms, if you do not have a Station Access subscription or full membership to Free Realms as of June 1, 2009, you can experience full membership status through July 31, 2009. The playtime described above cannot be used as a credit toward any subscription or membership, including a Station Access subscription. To play any of the SOE games listed above, you must register for or have a Station Account. During this period of gameplay, your game access to these games will be equivalent to a full, paid subscription (as compared to standard trial access or restricted account) and in the case of Free Realms, access will be full membership status; provided, however, that you must agree to and comply with each game's user agreement, terms of service and rules of conduct. Failure to comply with all applicable game rules may result in the suspension or termination of your access to these games. If you activate a fully-paid subscription or membership (as applicable), you will lose the balance of any unused trial period game time and additional, recurring subscription/membership fees will apply. In addition, if you convert a trial account into an active subscription/membership, you will not be entitled to any game time that may be included with the purchase of certain versions of, or other offers related to, such game(s). Game subscriptions and memberships are non-transferable and have no cash value.

I can't install Photoshop CS3 with my latest reformat, otherwise I wouldn't be asking (product license expired, or something of the like).
Would anyone mind creating a good signature that we can all use as signatures for our protest against not having a Producer's Letter or an active CRM?
It doesn't have to be elaborate. Just... eye-catching and to the point. No "SOE SUCKS", however. We want to keep this clean.
(If you don't know what I'm talking about, please see this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300017098)
And, if, for some reason, you feel uncomfortable posting the signature because of whatever reason, feel free to PM me the image. Your name will not be mentioned if that is the way that you wish to do it.
Again, thank you.

Our beloved Walrus stepped down on April 2, 2007 as the Community Relations Manager to better focus on Producing the Matrix Online and The Agency. Every week before he stepped down (for the most part), he would write a Producer's Letter, of sorts, entitled "The Other Side of the Looking Glass". In these articles, he would provide us oysters of information that kept us in the loop on what was going on in the developmental realm of the Matrix Online. It was great. Coupled with the Ask a Dev thread, the Matrix Online Community was one of the most well informed games because we were in constant connection to our Developers and Producer. Very rarely, we could complain about not knowing about something outside of the storyline realm. While that may take the fun out of the little stuff that we find in each patch, it gave us a the knowledge that the game was continually being worked on to the extent that the Developers could.
Now, however, things have changed. We do not get development tid-bits every day from Rarebit or weekly updates from Walrus about the state of the game. For a while, I was alright with that. It was fun looking through the patch notes, not anticipating anything. I wasn't setting myself up for any form of disappointment, either. I could be whole-heartedly surprised at what I saw (or did not see) in the patch notes. I began to realize, though, that I do not like not being in the loop. I do not like not knowing that something amazing is going to be developed. The last I've heard, as I'm sure it's the same for many of you, is the information garnered from Walrus and Rarebit at Fan Faire. None of that information we were told was very conclusive, either.
Now, I realize that Walrus is working a lot (he hasn't even logged onto the Forums since early August), but he set a standard for himself way back on November 17, 2006, when he defined "newsworthiness." Remember that? We complained the week before about his previous OSOTLG. He had made a huge deal about the /afk command, and we thought it was ridiculous that he made such a big deal about it. In his response in the November 17th issue, he indicated how lucky we were, as The Matrix Online, to be getting a Producer's Letter once a week, even though "most other games get that once a month or, more likely, once a quarter. " Needless to say, in one week, it will have been six months to the day that we will have not had a Producer's Letter. Last I checked, six months is not a quarter. We should have received a Producer's Letter two months ago.
In his announcement that Raijinn would be taking over his position as CRM, he indicated that "this is far from the last time you'll hear from me." Furthermore, he even noted that "In {his} continuing role as producer for MxO, {Walrus was} sure {Raijinn}'ll be bugging me for producer letters and other development content, as all good community relations managers do." In no way has this been done. In no way do we know what is going on in the Matrix Online's Development. Both Walrus and Raijinn have not fully kept us in the loop.
On August 31st, 2007, things looked up. The Matrix Online Development team was scheduled to have a meeting the following week to "hash out a bunch of upcoming things." I immediately thought that Walrus would be writing us a huge Producer's Letter, and he would have only been a month late. When I asked about it in the "Week in Review" discussion thread, Raijinn simply noted that the team could only reveal developmental ideas, not storyline ideas. In no way did he say that he was going to ask Walrus to write a Producer's Letter. I grew worried because it didn't sound like he asked Walrus to write one. No Week in Review came for the next week. No new information on a Producer's Letter.
There is still no new information on a Producer's Letter, and the developmental meeting happened over two weeks ago. I promised that I would make a thread if we did not have one, and here it is.
We were promised a Producer's Letter. The Matrix Online Community can make itself heard more than any other community that I have ever been a part of.
I, for one, want a Producer's Letter from Walrus. I, for one, want to know what is going on in the Matrix!
(In no way is this meant to start a flame fest. Please do not turn it into one.)

You know the sound. The sound that is most famous for Bullet Time. It is no where on the net (at least under the terms that I've been searching for). Does anyone have a full audio file of it? I need it for a movie that I'm doing in my Video Production class at school. If someone could send it to me, I'll PM you my e-mail address so you can e-mail it to me. I'll be more than appreciative if anyone can send me the file. Thank you.

Here are his specs.
Time of this report: 5/7/2006, 18:38:58 Machine name: STEFAN Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519) Language: Dutch (Regional Setting: Dutch) System Manufacturer: MEDIONPC System Model: MS-7091 BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1536MB RAM Page File: 292MB used, 1864MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT
He has all the current video drivers updated, has no software firewall running, and a wired cable connection. He can connect for about a half an hour, and then, without reason, begins to crash. I can't think of any reason why he crashes, but he does. He did a full system check on the game, and re-installed, and still nothing. Any help?

This tutorial includes the download of the actual Matrix text symbols and is by far the best one I've found. Hopefully this will help the newer folks here (like myself) and will hopefully enliven many pictures.
Hope it helps.

Thank you very much 9mm! It made it a lot of fun being on the test server. It was a blast seeing lots of people lined up to battle you. Now, if we could just get the Black Derin Pants to be black...
Thank you HCFrog for dueling those select few in the Government building. You've done a lot to help bring along the CR.
Thanks Rarebit for trying to answer all the questions we have.
Thanks anonymous Devs for bringing CR to us. It'll be a large improvement on the current system.
Please post any thank you's you have for the Devs (please don't flame the CR here...).

Wow. Every ability I have is disabled due to a virus. I cannot duel/fight in PVP, and cannot do any emotes or use anything. I'll jackout after I get this screenshot uploaded, unless I need to stay in. I have the stun immunity on my hotbar and I cant get rid of it. I would try to recreate the bug, but I have a feeling it'll be a 1/100,000 chance that I'll actually be able to recreate it. The person I dueled was a Expert Rifleman. I was a full MA in Kung Fu and full in Karate. When my dueler rolled out, we both lagged a bit and it seemed like I was stuck in interlock. I tried to save as much as possible my log, but I doubt it will really help. This is just bragging rights, now.

Just in case you guys didn't see the post by Rarebit about the CU2.0. This is major stuff.
Rarebit wrote:
I'm going to jump ahead and answer this one, because I think it's very important. In fact, I asked out producer the same question in a full team meeting two days ago. His answer was that if after all the testing and tweaking and bug fixing that we can possibly do, you guys as a group still aren't comfortable with the revamped combat system, then we drop it and move on. That's it.
This is why it is so important for you--yes, you, our beloved player reading these words on your screen right now--to give us your honest feedback on the combat update every step of the way. We need you to jump on each new QA patch, give it a good hard thrashing, and then get on the QA forums and give us your carefully considered feedback. Even if someone has already said just what you were going to say, at least say "I agree with [whatever]." Weigh in. This is your chance to help determine the game's future in a major way.
So, that means you guys have to really /shout and /plead about what you want done. CCR as many bugs as you can (not that you aren't already). Post as much as you can. I know we all want this game to succeed, and all of us know it will be a much turn for the better if it does succeed. Help is succeed by /ccr(ing) bugs, voicing your opinion, posting ideas in here no matter how ludicrous they may sound, or how hard they may be to implement.
All of us want this game to succeed, and most of the posts on this forum have been positive. Everyone's liking what we see, but we can't be afraid to offer ideas (and I know most of you aren't, I just want to reinforce this). I know most of you were in Beta and know what I'm talking about; we don't want another botched Combat System, nor a fatal launch of the CU that would kill the game. This CU2.0 is the driving force of this game, and will make or break a lot of people. Do your best to test every aspect you can.
I just hope that people don't start conceding like we did with 'Lith and start posting less because you think the Devs aren't listening to you. This isn't 'Lith anymore; they'll do whatever they can to make this as great as it can be, but they can't do that without your help.
We are the future of this game. The Devs just threw us the pitch; it's our turn to bat.
Discuss.
