I've only been able to log into Recursion once today. Every other time the game gets to "Loading Character" then gives me the error message: "Failed to reconnect to margin server. Shutting down." I can log into Syntax and Vector without problems though. Anyone else experiencing this?

How the heck do you get to the rooftop? I tried the elevator but it won't let me out onto any of the floors. Tried hj'ing from the roof of the adjacent building (wearing TinCan's headgear w/ lvl 50 hj) and still can't get there. What's the trick?

Is anyone having a problem logging into Syntax? I jacked out last nite in the Abandoned Subway and tonite I can't log in. The game stays on "Loading Character" screen then an error message comes up saying "unable to reconnect to margin server." ??? No probs on the other servers.

Ever since the network outage on 1/21/09 my forum signature has disappeared. In fact, when I go into "My Profile", the field where you input the URL or HTML for your signature is also missing. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same problem so I decided to announce it.

I also noticed that "Private Messages" is also no longer appearing with the rest of my profile options.

Hi. Well I downloaded the hotfix Thurs. evening, logged into the game, started a mission and as I was headed to the waypoint, the game completely froze up. I tried to relog, but the game could barely bootup. The screen was flickering a lot. It appeared to be a graphics issue, so I checked if there was an updated driver from ATI & there was. So I installed the new drivers, tried to log into the game and had the same problem. Then I checked to be sure my GPU's were working correctly and they were. I tried rolling back the drivers to a previous version and that doesn't help. Then I tried defragging my drives and that hasn't helped. I re-patched the game from the launcher and that didn't work. All I can think is that the hotfix broke something. Now none of my games work correctly. This is awesome.

UPDATE: Turns out one of my GPU's is fried SMILEY

so when I was trying to operate in CrossFire mode none of the games worked right. /disregard

I'm creating this post in the hopes that I can gather some input from the community and the attention of the dev(s). Essentially I love the fact that the game offers the stat hack missions, because, of course like everything else in life, things change.

What I'd like to see implemented is the option to change one's personality as well. For instance, I'm currently a New Age Hippy, but I was torn between choosing that or Troubled Intellectual because my real-life character exhibits qualities from both. However, just as in real life, your character can change (for better or worse) and I'd like to see this option included in the stat hack missions or in the implementation of another medium. Things change and considering that once you've chosen a name the server keeps it forever, creating a whole new version of a pre-existing character isn't worth it just for the personality change. So essentially I'm advocating for even more freedom to change your avatar. I'm no programmer, so I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement this idea. So I'm asking for input from the community as to why this is a good/bad idea. /Discuss

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the floating damage & xp numbers that appear on-screen over characters? I played around in the video options and turned off effects, but that didn't get rid of them. TIA.

I thought it would be nice to scroll through the hotbars using the mouse wheel rather than clicking on the up & down arrows. Just put the cursor anywhere over the hotbar and switch by wheelin' up or down. Now I don't know if this is possible because it might be more trouble than it's worth to edit/add coding, but I thought it would be a nice little addition. /Discuss.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I just upgraded my drivers to catalyst 8.1 and am experiencing a shaking screen when playing in full screen. The problem goes away if I play in windowed mode. I'm running 2 Radeon HD2900XT's crossfired. Didn't have a problem with catalyst 7.12 so I'll probably just roll back the drivers. Has anyone else experienced issues with the new 8.1 drivers?

I'm enjoying the game so far. Just wanted to make a few suggestions. I think the city needs more sound. Maybe some sirens for example, or horns from the cars. Maybe even add some voice samples for the pedestrians like in the GTA games. Just a thought, but I think it would add to the realism of the simulation.
