I'm more concerned about what I posted above. The sound in the game is pretty bad, cutting out dialog and even music after a short time period. Is this a known glitch because I've not had this happen on any other game I've had.
The in mission dialogue with characters like Commander Lock (in the Meet Niobe missions) doesn't cover the whole dialogue in the dialogue box, ususally just the first sentence or so. That's not a glitch if that's what you're referring to.
If the game music cuts out, try the command /radio stop. That's an age old glitch and work around. Happens a lot to me when I alt/tab in and out of the game. Visit the FAQ/Guides forums when you have time and look into joining a good faction. There's no current official manual including the ingame manual that's never been updated. There's a lot of good info and help on these foums and good players in game. Those are your best resources. The rabbit hole is deeper than most know, The more you look the more you will find. Welcome to the Matrix.

That bonus to Max Health doesn't do anything until you activate a buff for it to affect. You probably activated Martial Arts Initiate which gives a 70pt buff to Max Health which that 8% bonus can affect making it a 75 point buff. Vitality also gives a bonus to max health. If your Vitality is at 8, as it is with most archtypes (unless you've been putting points into it), that would give another 6% bonus making it a 14% bonus total making that 70 points Max Health buff go up to 79. You can check all of that in the bonuses tab of the status window (P hotkey). Bonuses only affect active styles, buffs and upgrades: which show up as icons under your hotbar. That's one of the most important concepts of the combat system to understand. So if you don't have something active under that hotbar giving a buff to Max Health, the bonus has nothing to work on. The Max Health bonus will affect Health Boosters. Patcher's Health Buffs get stronger from their own Max Health bonus.

Be sure to look up your organization's Liaison Officers in the Options menu under World Events (bottom right corner when you are in game). They are official RP representatives who will help get you more involved in the official story and the events that happen for your organization. Get in touch with them and the other orgs' Liaison officers and enjoy RPing with them as well as other players. It's good to see a new player who's excited about getting into the Matrix. Have fun!

And I'll bet my scanline receiver that the kind of fireworks that can land on the rooftop of an apartment complex are already illegal in Toledo. Ohio's stringent laws governing the use of explosives require customers to sign a waiver assuring that they will remove fireworks from the state before detonating them. Only trick and novelty fireworks can be legally used within Ohio's borders. In Michigan, only sparklers with less than 2 ounces of pyrotechnic composition are legal, and all other consumer fireworks are prohibited. Both states require customers to take explosives out of their own state before discharging them.

Some people are just IDIOTS. And it's not legal fireworks that make them dumb. Throw the culprits in jail for endangering the public. That is already the law. It's nothing short of arson anyway. And what's with the no firewalls? Are these the slums with no building codes and inspections? Any fire takes out that whole complex. One cigarette in a couch and poof, all gone. It's actually pretty dam fortunate this happened on a day when fire departments are on high alert and ready to respond even faster than normal.

I know you can do archive missions, but it's not the same.
Actually, it is EXACTLY the same. What you are suggestiing is to abandone the current story which moves at a faster and more steady pace than back then. Flushing out those old crits is not going to add anything new, they are already flushed out and a reliveable part of the history of the ongoing story. Back then events happened at best every 6-8 weeks. They happen daily now, filling out the story between crits and giving us much more to keep up with. Those 'great' old events were server crashing rarities. Nostalgia is fickle, remembering what you like and forgetting what you didn't. We waited forever for those events while buring off all the crits in one day just to get them done once they came out. Do your really do all the crits and read all the live events occuring on all servers that happen between them to absorb the entire story as it is happening now? Do you talk to all the mission NPCs, every major character twice and hack every computer you find in every crit to get as much detail as you can out of them? There's plenty going on now in the story to keep us interested than there was back then. If that's not enough for you, then by all means go back and do all the Archived Crits as fast as you like. Have you done all the Archive Crits for all orgs and reviewed all the past events associated with them to fill yourself in on the complete story from the inception of the Truce after Neo? I really can't see any benefit to abandoning the much more active and smooth flowing story we have going on now to relive a past that's already preserved and there for you to relive now.

Maybe those 'floating' cars are driving on invisible roads that you can also run on-what happens if you fall or jump off? That could also be the puzzle you have to figure out to get out to those locations-an invisible maze of roads where the clue to their existence is the cars driving on them. Or maybe hyperjump rules are different here as in buffable beyond the current limit or even not nerfed at all. I'll bet one way or another all those floating islands are accessible since Sati can bend the rules. A non pvp construct seems the most likely as well. Why make something new that's just like something that already exists? This is exciting, can't wait to see what it's all about. I hope this isn't the last new construct either. It's a great way to expand the game and so far the creativity put into these two is very cool.

If i'm wrong, I apologize. Anyway, I personally don't smoke or drink anything (apart from tea, oh my! And again, Caffeine, in large consumptions as you said, is addictive. Large consumptions. Marijuana, in large consumptions, is addictive), and I'd rather keep my inhibitions completely normal, without distorting them with the use of any drug(s).
That includes tea. Again, that is my personal opinion, and I'm not condemning anyone who does use any of these. I'm informed, thanks; and with all due respect, I don't need to be pat on the head and told I don't know what I'm talking about just because you disagree. You don't know.

The power grabs you predict simply can't happen because the absence of the Matrix and the Machines in no way effects the established leadership of the two orgs who have total control of the only two cities in the real. The power grabs that Illyria mentioned weren't just about Mech, Merv and Cypherites, she was also talking about internal power struggles. Without focus on the Machines, mankind will revert to how it's always been in civilisation; crime, wealth, power. With power comes corruption. Suddenly working for the good of all Mankind reduces to the good of the few in each group over others. Basic instincts and nature, that is what influences people, there are always a few who ignore them but a great deal more who listen to them. Perhaps not at first not for a year or two, but it is inevitable.
So you and Illyria hope.

And if it's not illegal where you live, then my comment doesn't apply to you. I'm neither negating the fact nor justifying the use. I said those laws are stupid and made by stupid people for stupid reasons. And I pointed out the hypocrisy of setting a standard for making one recreational drug illegal while refusing to apply that standard to other recreational drugs like alcohol, tobacco and coffee.
