I'm having all these problems too, and just tipped off The Consumerist. While SOE is certainly within their rights to do what they want (especially if they're giving us refunds anyways) it still leaves a really bad taste in my mouth as a consumer, and I think others should be warned. I own EQ, EQ2, and Vanguard, and was honestly kind of thinking about trying any of those again (because it's so nice to play something that's an MMO and not WoW) but Sony can pretty much forget it after this.

I started playing MXO at launch... it was my first MMO. I had to come back and see it end. I just subscribed (11 PM EST June 2nd) and it gave me an error, but it looks like it went through successfully and MXO is now downloading on Station Launcher Very sad to see this game end...

I don't know. We could all be up the code stream without a keyboard if it went evil on us.
I guess that's just what happens when those items lose their purity... :smileyindifferent: Message Edited by EvilCheeseWedge on 01-06-200603:29 PM

You're a Queensryche fan!? Awesome! I didn't figure there was anybody else in The Matrix Online that listened to QR... freakin' sweet. I saw them 4 times last year... absolutely love 'em! QR is my favorite, but I like a lot of stuff including Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Dio, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, NIN, A Perfect Circle, Opeth, My Dying Bride, Savatage, Rob Zombie... My friend was having this issue when he signed up on MXO about a week ago. The trick is to leave the character name screen open for about 15 minutes or so, and then try going through...
It was the exact same problem, even gibberish like "adfue4t92" would be "taken". Apparently this issue hasn't been fully resolved yet...

We recently started Eternal Xile, an Exile crew (cleverly named for the band Eternal Exile, which 2/3 of our current crew happen to members of :smileywink: ) - anyways, our rank ranges from about 7-14 right now, but, of course, always going up. If you're around this area (or even if you're not) and you're looking for a Merovingian crew, please consider joining us! Just look me up on here, or in the game (char: EvilCheeseWedge).

It's an Epiphone G-400 Cherry. I like it, but the build quality is so/so. After owning it for about a year it had to be almost entirely re-wired, but it sounds pretty good... I'm working on buying a new guitar soon, and I'm vary partial to SG's, but I'm not sure whether I'm going to go for an actual Gibson SG or what...
What type of stuff do you play?

I originally subscribed to MXO in May '05, and played until September or October of this year (I made the transition to Station). However, I slowly ran out of time thanks to school and work and ended cancelling. But lately I've really wanted to get back in the game... so I reactivated my account today while I'm at work. My question is this: will my player be reset? I don't really mind either way, I'm just curious and I can't find out because I'm at work... but I figure there's probably a policy on this... so any pointers would be appreciated

Thanks for the quick guide! I've stupidly ignored macros the entire time, but now I see they can be quite useful. 5 stars and thanks. :smileyhappy: Message Edited by EvilCheeseWedge on 08-18-2005 01:31 PM

Inventory. Something has to be done, it's just ridiculous how little space we have. I think it'd be interesting to add full-fledge properties to the game for people to purchase, but that's pretty big. We could start small just by having lockers. Perhaps they would hold say, two dozen objects, and they're rented for a cost of maybe $30/month. Or better yet, just like in the real world, have some self storage centers for maybe $100/month that hold plenty of items :smileytongue: - either way, in some form we need a way to have more inventory. Like I suggested with lockers, they could just be instanced, sort of like the loading area. In other words, maybe you only see several rows of lockers in a certain area, but as many people who want to use the lockers there can, they just only have access to their own.
I would like to see other little things as well, just things as simple as a new emoticon ever now and then would be a nice touch.
I was just about to say the same thing. We have Code Storage (thank God, because I can't handle paging through all those bits in my inventory). But why not give us a Locker to hold clothes/guns. Or a closet just for clothes, and a gun-rack for guns.
It sucks when you're wasting two pages of inventory just to hang on to clothes that you don't use as often, but still comes in handy when you need it. Not to mention the half page that the beta clothes take up alone. Oh and don't forget the page for guns alone. Now that's 3 pages (in the beginning, it would of been my whole inventory if they had never doubled it).
Yeah, we'd be screwed without Code Storage (which really needs to auto stack...) - Plus lockers could be useful for stashing away dropped items and stuff like that too. The current inventory slots just don't do the trick. Plus it's odd to think that one person can have so many items on them at one time...

My desktop...
Athlon 64 FX-51
ASUS SK8V MOBO
1GB DDR 400 RAM (running in Dual Channel)
ATI All-in-Wonder 9800 Pro
Creative Audigy 2 Platinum
1x 120GB SATA Seagate HDD
2x 160GB IDE Seagate HDD
Plextor 8x DVD+-RW Burner
Pioneer 16x DVD Drive
It's all housed in a Thermaltake Xaser III.
The Matrix Online runs great on my desktop. I've never had any major issues with the game on this system.
I also run it on my laptop...
Compaq Presario R4000 Athlon 64 4000+ 2GB (1x2) RAM DDR 333 Radeon Xpress 200M 128MB (Dedicated) 15.4" BrightView Widescreen 80GB 5,400 RPM HDD Double Layer DVD Burner Integrated Wireless & Bluetooth 12-cell Battery
It runs pretty well on my laptop, considering how terrible the on-board video is. Definitely playable, and it looks OK too.
