Finally read it. I was expecting more specific examples. For instance, you mention in the 2nd paragraph about MxO "changed hands several times". I know it went from 'lith to SOE. Did it change hands internally at 'lith? Also, the qualifications of Chadwick; I know he has done comics for decades. I remember Concrete from elementary school. I'm 30 later this year. He also helped the W bros. conceptualize a lot of the details of the movies. Then there is his Matrix comics in Vol.1 and 2. Personally, I think he was qualified. However, I didn't like all things he brought into the Matrix Universe. The lazers were just the first things that came to mind. I look forward to your next post. ETA?
Well I know Sega had something to do with it, and there was some other company i just cant remember its dam name, something like Bioware or Bio something another which was during the very early stages of Beta, then it went to Warner bros then to soe.
The game was always developed by Monolith, according to all the interviews I've read (including one with Toby Raigaini where he talks about going to Eon in 2001, I believe, to throw their idea of a Matrix MMO past the Wachowskis). Warner Bros. and Ubisoft were originally going to co-publish the game, but Ubisoft dropped out (some believe this was a reaction to how the sequels were received by the general public, but they dropped Uru Online at around the same time and pretty much pulled out of the MMO market altogether). By E3 2004, it was announced that the new co-publisher of the game would be Sega.
Ah Ubisoft that was it.

Well that and I told him SOE wasn't getting any more of my business, but NCSoft and Blizzard were. I can be an @ss when I need to be.
Not necessarily. Even though they get paid to be nice and to be customer service reps, sometimes people are just ***holes. As for telling SOE that they lost your business, good move, but you're not being an ***. You're being a consumer who's sick of getting run over, and I applaud.

Please list the issues you're having here, as technically and dispassionately as possible, so that those who brought us the hot-fix can be aware of them. Thanks. (Mention: official word has come down that May re-subs will be able to play again soon and until the end, so we don't have to dicuss that topic in this thread.) To start: Roughly every 20 minutes after getting in game, I get the message "Connection to the Matrix lost. Shutting down." This is when I'm in active play or coding, not idle/AFK. None of the other internet applications (on other computers) are interrupted, so I don't think it's a local or ISP issue. If anyone else is having this or other issues, please reply.
Link please? about the May subs.

For players who have previously purchased prepaid subscription time via a multi-month subscription service, SOE game time card or other retail game time card that extends the service period past June 1, 2009, SOE will refund these accounts for the unused time and where indicated will mail refund checks to the current billing address on the account. Please be sure to update your email and physical address in your Station Account as this will be critical to the refund process." I'm a little shocked that this is still being quoted by SOE Admins. It's like there's a total disconnect between the CSRs, TSRs, and the frontline responders. Raijinn, are you aware that the customer service reps are all saying that, in fact, the cutoff date was May 28th and not June 1st, which is why so many people have lost their accounts?
Yeah, actually I've seen you all quote the CSR's quite a bit. I believe that 27th/28th date was an internal date set or something along those lines however in the mailer it did state the 1st as the cut-off. It's pretty confusing for you all (and myself to some extent) but we hope to get this clarified and resolved in the near future.
It seems crystal clear to me, the cut off date was publically billed as the 1st June. May 27th being an internal date that nobody outside of SOE knew about.
Either fix, or give us our money back.
I believe that's where part of the problem lies, most don't want the money back (which is what CS was mentioning) and would rather play until the end. We're in talks to figure out what can be done.
Correct, We dont want no stinking Refunds, We want to enjoy the last months of the game. Thats why we re subbed to be with friends and family and to re live the past with what little time remains. For those who subbed on june 1st, I have no idea what will happen.

I know that's what you all are asking since you've only seen the 1st mentioned as the deadline. Needless to say we're discussing the matter here as well and while I don't have anything official to mention as of right now, we hope that we'll have something to tell you all in the near future. Sorry folks!
It's pretty clear actually, June 1st was the cut off. That was the date in the email sent out, that's the date given by both yourself, Raijinn, and Walrus and no one corrected it. If the tech staff were given a different date, that's a SOE problem and not ours. There is no such thing as an "invisible deadline" or whatever nonsense the CSRs are spouting. We received the email or got word to check the message board and we re-subbed or made sure we had renewed our sub before the given date.. some of us, from the sounds of it, even beat that date and still are experiencing the same problem. I appreciate you and Virrago going to bat for us when it seems no one else is, and I don't know what the exact solution should be, but at least part of it is giving access back to all of those who subbed in time and now can't play. That much is bleedingly clear. If there is any doubt what-so-ever who subbed and who didn't, just check the payment history.
This.

Thanks Raijinn, I'm glad at least someone is listening to our concerns. We really do appreciate it.
So basicly we are in a holding pattern untill information can be brought down from on high regarding were the little mess up of an internal date of may 28th didnt get put into an offical email from SOE stating june 1st and what to do about it. We all know what needs to be done, however those big wigs have to say it before wheels turn, right?

I would like to say thank you Walrus and the team for a great ride, the game was great (even with its flaws) and I enjoyed the events. I received an email a long time ago in beta which gave me some happiness. It stated i was part of a small group of people, 50, who were part of a VIP beta program. We could access the game servers at any time (this was during the time the beta was only open for so many hours a day) and it was great. I felt like I had accomplished a lot in the Beta Project and I heart all those who i have talked to and touched over the years (yes in that way). Thanks for the fish.

Fen wrote: Endomorph wrote: Seriously what gives? People who subbed on June 1st are now getting kicked out of game and having their accounts shut down? I mean seriously wth...
Listen... We got less than a weeks notice that you were shutting the game down and stopping billing. We are the paying customers who made this game what it is and after putting in so much time, dedication, and love into this game your simply pulling the plug and taking all our hard work and throwing it into the garbage can. We've got a little less than 2 months left on this game and we'd like to make the most of it and get as much enjoyment out of it as possible... I don't know if you guys have forgotten this fact due to how small the player base is around here, but this is a MMO... And its the multiplayer part that keeps people come back. We've got 2 months left and in order to make the most of it we need our friends and faction mates to be here. As a faction leader myself, I've got tons of friends/faction members who are currently unsubbed and cant get resubbed to get back here and enjoy the last 2 months. And this is a fact that rings true for a lot of players and factions where they've got a lot of unsubbed players who want to come back but cant. You've got players going back to the CR1 days who put in a lot of time into this game in its early on who want to be here for the end. Some of us have put in well in excess of 3000 hours in to our characters... That's a massive amount of time to spend on something to not be able to be there for the end and have some closure. I mean really stop and think about all the old players out there who you know who want to be here right now but cant.
So Virrago, please go bash some heads up in the SOE offices and get them to enable all the old accounts. Let anyone who's not banned come back and play for the end. Heck, unban all the accounts and let them come back as well. As much as we hated some of the players in this game its also the villans who made the game what it was as well. The point is though, let the players come back who want to come back. In the last 2 months if we could get everyone back on here we could make the last 2 months something amazing and give this game one he ll of a send off. And from the logical point of view... SOE has no reason not to.... From June 1st forward all of us are playing for free anyway... So really what difference does it make? Free is free. Try to get them to let our friends and faction mates come back.
So I implore you to please fight for this all to often forgotten community and let us get the most out of the time we have remaining. Because if we cant get our friends and faction mates back here its simply another slap in the face. Posting on behalf of Anxiety762.
SOE: "You and your friends can play together in Free Realms."

Ascention Monument, the door that leads to no where. Gothique dropping a box in downtown during an event. the spammers in mara who randomly show up. Finding out for the first time when i died naked my character had a fin. Finding Sattakan during any pvp battle without a shield and punting him, usually happens right after he lands from a hyper jump, had me laughing for hours that i did this several times. Standing around at Stamos just chatting with some Faction mates and having the Assassin come up and punt me from behind and running off in which my faction mates took off after him.

It's not my fault! I blame Keith! Seriously, though, even not being able to spend time with the community or in the game much, it always made me glad that the MxO world still existed out there. It's hard to imagine being without it.
You know Walrus, I can go old school on you. Like, how Darbacour kicked your butt in the GM fights in Beta and thats the real reason. You were ashamed of yourself and ever since then could not come to gripes with talking to the community after that.
When I saw the beta players trashing the game's overlords...I had to wonder if someone was asleep at the wheel. Or just driving while distracted. It was kind of shocking, really. To me, anyway.
I am not Trashing anyone, I merely am trying to convey a nostalgic memory in a whimsical manner to lighten the mood of this thread. I was merely poking fun at Walrus, instead of instulting him like everyone else had, I was giving him an excuss. Notice the Rasberry at the end, meaning in a jokingly manner, to not take what was said seriously. Walrus knows i heart him.

Isn't that fixed when you turn off AA? Anyway, I think I had one person on my list, but I don't remember who it was (not logged in atm).
ah forget to say that, ya AA is off, but as you can tell my Resolution is at 1600*

No mercy here Walrus.../ban for you!

I was in windowed mode Under vista, it always shows a black box for some reason, if i was in full screen mode the whole thing would be black, but was able to get the list.
