Not to want to add to anyone's workload, but with the collectors and spawns being a bigger part of the story might it be a good idea to record what happens with that side of things in relationship to the storyline - e.g.

"after completing the mission the operative responded to Tyndall's call and headed to Shirakaba where he found a number of Machine programs, now accelerated by overrides. After defeating them the operative found an unusual type of Oligarch code which they brought back to Zion for analysis." -

something like that, possibly including screenshots of things like Override Functions, so we can see the progression from mission to mission and also see the differences between orgs (I think Machs or Mervs hunt accelerated exiles in S Vauxton). I'd do it myself, but I'm not high enough level to beat all the spawns.

 

EDIT: Oh, and what's a "Machine Destroyer" - don't think I've come across one of those, is it just a high lvl thing?

Are there many spawns in Shirakaba? I'm presuming there are a few for people to be able to do mission 2 (for Zion at least) I've found one, but he's level 42 which is 5 levels above me, quite fun to beat, but annoying when he doesn't drop anything of value!

No need to apologise Rare, your drawing style is fine and a few scenes that are open to debate won't do anyone any harm. I speak for myself but I think questions like these arise more out of fan obsession with being sure of the story than over debate over art style. I usually have a ton of things I want to clear up after cinematics, it's not 'cause I don't like them it's because I'm fascinated by the story in them and want to know every detail.

I personally feel honoured to play a game where a dev will go to the effort of personally drawing and animating cinematics to enhance the story for the players and I'm sure I'm not the only one - keep up the good work Rare, we love it!

I just got the game to work with Station Launcher (running on XP) - pretty nifty! Sorry all you Vista users! If it's any consolation now that I've got it working I have to go out - grr!

I've just had the same thing so I guess it's a glitch on the system, not a problem with your PC. I've never had it before either. I hope they fix it soon, looks like some people have had some luck getting patched up so I on't know what the deal is - I just tried again now, same problem.

I guess it's part of that "your mind makes it real" thing where inuries sustained in the Matrix are reflected in the real and vice versa. There's that Matrix comic where the guy's leg's broken in the real and he has to really fight to stop it being broken in the Matrix too. I guess it's the same thing with the Kid, if he wanted to he could maybe 'focus' and the scars would fade away, but he probably doesn't feel he needs to do that

Well thanks for clearing that one up anyway, I guess Veil likes to have a different look in the real, probly handy for sneaking aboard HvCft too! I think that's it for what I feel I need to see really, but some people who haven't accessed the missions might like to see the Wright programs and stuff like the new look Kid etc.

Thanks a lot for the guys -  I would just ask if there's any chance of screenshots, that would serve to increase the awesomnity of this thread - I'd particularly be interested to see if Veil appears as she does in the cinematic or if in the Matrix she has retained her classic appearance.

I was wondering when someone was going to post one of these!!

First of all a massive round of applause to Rare for creating this, I feel priviledged to play a game where the developer will hand draw and animate a cinematic just to make the storyline experience better for players - I salute you great leader!

Now I'm going to go all fanboy and ask a ton of questions about it!!!

The android is a most fascinating subject, the image is striking of a pod born human in the real, and I'm assuming it's a hologram so "it" could well be that, though there was something different about it too. I'm assuming it came up in the Mero chapter - any Mervs wanna spill the beans? On that subject I do like how the cinematic took the time to cover each organization pretty much, which I thought was cool.

The scene with Veil killing Shim was awesomely done, the quality of the animation on that was bang on I thought, just as good as the old cinematics. At least she didn't get a hold of the Oracle's program, which I guess is the only bonus for EPN, with two of their ranking officers dead. I am, as I suspect many others are, a bit more interested in Veil's appearance in this cinematic, has she gone for a new look or is that perhaps her real world appearance, though I would have thought her hair had caught up to her RSI by now so maybe she's just changed her look. Anybody bumped into her since the incident?

I found the bit with Wright intriguing and a little confusing. There seemed to be some seniority going on with the Agents, I know there was something like that with Smith in the first one, but with him saying "Sir" and stuff it was slightly different, not a concern, just a fannish niggle. I was a bit unsure of what happened when Wright approached, did she actually "bend" that building around her - if so impressive!

I have my own theory on the interface program's message, but I'll finish the Zion missions before commenting.

  OK - due to popular demand I've added the Lock transfer ships, you've earned your place in history - I guess you deserve it on my little list too! My information on the event is pretty bare so if any of the crew have more details for me such as crew names or any ships damaged/defeated in battle please add them or get in touch with me.

I've also added affiliation to all ships and plan to add more as soon as I can spare the time. To answer the question - 'significant' is essentially any ship that's been named or featured in the storyline.

If you have time to look at the list please see if there's any gaps you can fill in

  OK, finally got around to adding a few more from Othinn's list - cheers muchly for those. There's a few bits I'd like more confirmation on before posting, but still very helpful. I also noticed a few of the names of ships weren't actually mentioned in the events - I'm happy to take your word for it, but I'm also interested in how you found out the names.

I'll hopefully add one or two more ships soon and I'm gonna try and add "Affiliation" to each ship as well.

  An interesting little event there- interesting that exiles can't acces the Marketplace, I hadn't thought of that. I like how Rose was interested in the fashion labels of MxO clothing, makes the whole thing seem a bit more real.

  I am rather fascinated by this one and the other content in this edition of the Sentinel, I hope we get to find out more about this organization soon. I am glad they decided to try and use the Sentinel for more than just a newspaper or to give bluepill reflection on events, though that is good in and of itself.

I'm looking forward to more and am very envious of those who've had contact already from this group.

  Thanks for your input guys, I do appreciate it. I've added most of the HvCft you mentioned to the list. I'm still feeling a bit finnicky about player HvCft, but thatnks for posting them nonetheless and I may add them to the list. I've also added the Scanline crew members you mentioned Archangel.

Can I be cheeky and ask for confirmation on the Blue Dreamer crew as I was under the impression that the org leaders had their own ships, same for EPN, I thought Shimada had one called Neo's Peace or summat - but it's probably just my imagination.

Keep adding ships folks - there was a Cyph ship that got capture by Zion called Nescire I think, anyone remember that?

I've been interested for a while in compiling a list of all the "official" Hovercraft to feature in MxO. Official does mean, unfortunately that I won't be including your ship on the list - though I by no means doubt the validity of you and your crew's actions. But rather I am looking for named ships or ships of significant individuals that have featured in live events, critical missions or elsewhere in the Matrix online story.

I'll just clarify the categories slightly, though I'm probably being too picky. A named ship (e.g. Blue Dreamer) is probably gonna get in, but confirmation of it's place in the story will be needed, but if it belongs to a significant character or has been named more than once I think it counts. Unnamed ships I'm gonna be a bit stricter - if it belongs to a significant character it counts, but a random LE or CM crew that don't get their ships named won't count - so "Carlyne's ship" counts, but a random crew who appear once in a Merv LE don't.

  A nice event - great to see more of what was going on in the real and to have an actual view of what was going on in the real was even better thanks for cooking that up Rare et al. The glimpses into the storm and seeing human elements like that ladder and the lightning gun were very cool. The event was very intriguing as a whole and I'd love to see more like this in future.

I totally misinterpreted the first quote - I read it as "Down Here! I'm God! I fell down a manhole and..."  - herm, do lightning bolts hurt?

Ok so it's actually the trainman quote, but interesting if it's Sati's playground that means that the munchkin has supreme control over what goes on the there - does that lso mean she created the construct 'cause that would tell us a lot about her. Her power over the weather is intriguing as it is, but to be able to create a whole digital world could have implications for the future storyline, and with the whole SSR thing going on in Datamine it looks like the devs are going to an effort to give each construct it's own story.

I'm very intrigued by the Ninja and the thing on her head - from the first pic it looks like something that plugs into her head, but I'm guessing not! Could it be a new clothing reward for the construct perhaps? Or is this a new character we have to look out for?

All in all muchly intrigued

  An interesting mission - so the exiles and the Merv are deciding to get in on the game now are they herm?

To be honest I didn't really get much of what was going on, the Nightmare's dialogue was confusing (which I like as a character/species trait) and so the first "clue" was a bit muddled for me. Thne I had to race through the rest to beat the server shutdown so I didn't get much chance to pick up on what was going on.

Well at least now we know Roukan's behind it all!!!

  Yeah I got it, and so did Neoteny earlier! The mention of Soren is interesting, I'd forgotten who that was so thanks for pointing that out. I'd initially assumed it was a friend of Mauser who he was working with but since Soren's dead I guess not. The idea of having undercover bluepills is interesting though, I wonder what it could mean?

  Yay Mauser!! A nice long chase mission with a payoff at the end and lots still to find out so pretty good on thw whole. I like the reintroduction of the old hardlines with phones in people's houses and stuff - nice reminiscing of the films and stuff there.

From what he said he seems to still be on our side, but ya never know thse days do ya?

  We should also consider the alternative - that humans with some sort of technology are able to enter the matrix without the use of neural jacks. I'd assumed that Halborn and Carlyne had the ability to do something of the kind, with their technology being superior to ours, but if Mauser, a freeborn from Zion, also has the capacity well then there are big implications for the future of humanity/ the Matrix.

  They are very tricky to get - I spent a good part of a day trying to find one then came back the next day and got it first try!! Was still v frustrating - got me a nice pair of robo gloves now, how many other folks got 'em?
