Regarding the SWG-NGE fiasco, this quote: We've learned a thing or two with our experiences with the NGE and don't plan on repeating mistakes from the past and not listening to the players. —John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment Apparently, they still haven't learned. They can add MXO on to their list of community relations disasters.

Was looking through some of my old PMs, thought this was cool to share. I had been talking to the ex-MxO dev, HCFrog about an interview for MxO Resource (for non-old timers, this was arguably MxO's most popular fansite) right as he departed the game. If you remember, he had been working on the Org abilities at the time. This was the last PM I got from him.
What he said was very true, and it's unfortunate to see MxO not get the attention (from all angles) it would deserve if things didn't happen the way they did. I personally invested alot of time in MxO, and it was good times. But I guess I'm one of those few that can't appreciate it for what it is anymore, not to belittle the attempts of Rarebit, 9mm, Dracomet, or the rest of the team--but MxO's gradual loss of player base is more apparent now than ever. Just thought it was worth sharing. SK

The new content is... an interesting take on the storyline. I think it has potential to be geared a little better to make it last these next weeks until another patch. We all hate grinding, but I really don't see a big issue with the storyline. This encourages low-levels to team up with 50s in order to complete the missions, which is after all what an MMO is supposed to do. I'm sure we all get tired of the Kill -> Loot -> Collect -> Trade game, which is essentially what MxO has become. Not that that's a necesssarily bad thing, but if that's what we're limited to, I say make the content more challenging, or interesting. Have a world spawn that only spawns a certain day or days of week that drops an item that is essential to getting a pretty uber item or something similar. I know the Danielle spawn is static. Don't, however, require us to farm needless amounts of "x" item to trade for "y" item, as that's just farming for the sake of farming. Flood a building with re-spawning story-related NPCs with a weaker boss at the top that drops a new consumable or make use of that tool slot! For this chapter, for instance, spawn a crapload of Wright Accelerated Programs in a Hampton Green building, or the Accelerated Suits (which would make even more sense), to give us a feel like the actual Matrix as a world is being overrun. I think alot of focus is being put on missions, when there's alot you could do with the world as well.

I wouldn't see how, logically, Bluepills would die during a reboot.
In order for them to produce the electricity the Matrix needs to exist, there has to be neural activity, correct? The interaction with the simulation provides this activity, and produces more energy. During a reboot, there must be some type of system that suspends bluepill energy while the Matrix is rebooted (which apparently happens very quickly).
I don't see why new crops would have to be grown every time there's a reboot. If the prime program didn't return to the source, then the anomaly cycle is broken. The Smith Infection was so bad, I would imagine the system had to be rebooted.
But that raises the question: with the prime program gone, can we call this the seventh iteration, or the first of a new cycle?

The first couple were failures because she had not found the reason why during those versions. She was only an intuitive program. Zion is not the source of choice either it was just a place where those who did not accept the choice subconsciously could live once freed and facilitate the cycle.
Also where is it said that Zion existed before the stable versions of the simulation? It was said that there was a man born inside the Matrix who learned how to shape it to his own ends, well if he was born and survived, like all those in the previous ones didn't because of lack of choice, then Zion would have been created during the first stable iteration or at the end of the first.
How many times did the machines destroy zion will answer that...
What actually happened:
- Machines defeat humanity
- Multiple failures at making the Simulation work
- The Oracle discovers that choice is needed
- First successful version of the Matrix
- First emergence of "The Anomaly"
- First destruction of Zion
- repeat "anomaly cycle" x5
- Neo becomes The One, fulfilling the prophecy and breaking the Anomaly cycle during it's sixth iteration
- Neo stops Smith and Matrix is rebooted (ignoring beta testing and launch reboot ... not considered canon)
- Current version of the Matrix is #7 (counting from the first emergence of the Anomaly)
The matrix never rebooted.
Yes it did. It happens at the end of Revolutions, when the code is pulled from the ground, and Sati is freed from the Smith Virus.

I'm getting excited as Broadcas Depth nears initial release status. There are three content pages left to complete before initial release, and some odds and ends that can be worked on after. Broadcast Depth initial release will include only the "Resources" menu, with Guides and Walkthroughs coming later (as well as other sections). I know we've all been waiting quite a while, so I'm glad we're almost out the gate. I will make a new thread when the ship can be brought up to Broadcast Depth. Once you come to accept MxO for what it is, you realize that there's not going to be a single update that brings WoW-like numbers to the game. Hell, it doesn't take much to figure that out. It's really simple--if you can't accept that, then this game isn't going to do anything for you.

I understand the frustration, and I myself am feeling sorry for not having the site up as planned. Thank you to those who have been patient and supportive of Broadcast Depth.
A few individuals approached me asking if I needed help with Exile Hideouts, but nothing came of it. The extent of what I have obtained is based on all three servers' marketplaces. As of now, I am missing the following Exile Hideout items:
Solid Sneakers Defiled Gloves Fighters Gloves Asepticap Section Shoes Perception Shades Watcher's Shades
If anyone would help me get the stats on these last seven items, I would appreciate it.
I am working on the site whenever I can, and I'll have it done as soon as I can. That's the only promise I can make right now, and I apologize for missing the last release dates.

Very interesting, Vesuveus.
It looks pretty good, too! I look forward to hearing more about this.

MySpace isn't to blame here. That kid needs psychiatric help. It's such a shame something like this happened.

I'm honored *blush* ...but um.... what does a promotional analyst do lol Exactly what you've been doing for MxO Space. External promotion of the game, the site, and the community in general.
