This is kinda like that episode of Dr. Who dealing with the Cybermen. They grind up people until only their neural tissue is left, and then use some kinda process to make it control the cybernetic body.

To be quite honest, Casino Royale left me all shades of pissed off until the last five minutes. The movie was lacking everything about Bond movies that I had come to know and love. There wasn't a real car chase, Q and Miss Moneypenny were missing, no gadgets, and the love story was much more than happy to take precidence over the main story.
Now, I've heard that after Quantum of Solace is done, they will have more gadgets and returning characters(Q, Moneypenny), which could make me actually like the reboot of the francise. Until then, however, it's not a Bond film. It's a well directed gritty action film.

Thanks for bumping this phi. I'd never seen this before. It's downright amazing.
Menoeceus if you are still around, please upload this to Machinima.com. It's about time the mainstream machinima community found out about our little awesome group of directors and films.
Anyone who is a friend of one of the old machinima directors, I urge you to do the same. Let's see an influx of MxO movies at that site, it'd be good advertisement for the game.

Ok, I didn't really read the arguments Zero keeps having with the others, but I want to get my 2$i in. First, a little background info. I'm currently a senior in high school. I remember every year, through elementary and middle school, that they'd send home this yellow paper at the beginning of the year. This paper was very simple, it was a permission slip for corporal punishment. My dad would always sign and authorize it, telling my sister and I that if we did something bad enough to deserve it, we *CENSORED* well shouldn't be protected from it.
The fear of the paddle kept me in line, besides having a good upbringing. When I got to high school, they believed we had grown out of corp punishment. Instead, however, was something far worse. The school rarely gave detention or OSS, instead we have ISS as a regular punishment. The ISS room might as well be called purgatory. Small, confined room, you don't talk, you work, ALL DAY. You go to the bathroom when they tell you to, you eat lunch when they bring it. Usually, you also had, besides the days work from your classes, a five page research paper due at the end of the day. You didn't finish it? Congrats, another day of ISS for you.
However, sometimes ISS didn't work. But our district didn't back down and let the kids have free reign. You get outta line enough times? Charges are being filed at the local magistrate. Try explaining that one to your parents, and see if they don't give you what you deserve.
I've never had to be subject to any of those punishments, but I always believed the way my school handled it was good. The paddle kept alot of kids in line, and now my senior class is the most respected class to come through in years. The paddle kept us in line as kids, and now as young adults, we know better than to *CENSORED* around, and because of it over 90% of us are going onto secondary education.
Moral of the story? Corp punishment instills fear, fear instills respect for the rules, respect for the rules gets you ahead in life.

Has anyone considered that this small colony of folks might actually be the past "Ones". That may explain why they have such control over the simulation, and perhaps why they can be "centuries" old.

There could be some innate flaw in the coding of the abilities or the game itself which would prevent the abilities working properly, we've already seen that based on rep doesn't work with them, for the moment and that you could load up another Orgs abs. This could mean a complete rewriting of the abs code or alteration of the games code would be needed. Now we know the game code is quite hard to sort out and it could take ages for the dev's to rewrite out the code for abs in order for them to work. This may be the reason why they're not looking into it, because it'd take too much time away from what they should be doing. I know I'd prefer lots of new small additions than waiting 5-6 months for a single large one.
(Note: this post was based on my very little knowledge of code writing)
Or, Rare could release the code to us and ask us to take a look at it. Now, I don't directly recall what his original job was on this game, but if I do remember correctly, it wasn't programmer. There are some of us in the community who do have a decent knowledge of programming that would write the code to implement these in a heart beat... for FREE.
You don't have to give us the source, but some snippets that show the problem areas with implementation might be able to be sorted out by some of us who know code structures and the languages.

The regular season is over folks, so here are your playoff matchups:
In the East: In the West:
1. Montreal Canadians 1. Detroit Redwings vs. vs 8. Boston Bruins 8. Nashville Predators
2. Pittsburgh Penguins 2. San Jose Sharks vs. vs 7. Ottawa Senators 7. Calgary Flames
3. Washington Capitals 3. Minnesota Wild vs. vs 6. Philadelphia Flyers 6. Colorado Avalanche
4. New Jersey Devils 4. Anaheim Ducks vs. vs 5. New York Rangers 5. Dallas Stars
What are your first round predictions?
I'm an East guy and I don't know much about the West, so I'm going...
Montreal in 4 Penguins in 5 Flyers in 7 Rangers in 6

That's not actually what he meant, at least not the way I saw it. Rogue meant that there's no pressure from the player base for the Devs to do specific things. There's pressure on them to not work on other things: pressure from live events, crits, constructs etc. means they can't work on org abilities for example.
But there's little pressure from us for them to do things...
Thank you, that's exactly what I meant.
There is almost no pressure at all from the player base for any changes at all. Everyone's too happy to just sit back and agree the second a developer lays down their position on any issue.

... and new constructs, change in the E-mail, daily events, continuing story all the stuff that Rarebit says he wants to do for update 60... nah, no pressure at all. Just because you can't see what they're doing doesn't mean that they're doing sod all...
New construct (note the lack of a plural) that took 3 years to release. Adding the ability to get more emails (oh no. If only that wasn't MxO just playing catch up with the game industry), daily events (Rare logs in, we kill some spawns, rare talks, logs out), and continuing story (nothing to refute here).
And the stuff in update 60? Sorry rare, I know you're running a 1 man show, but Vinia, I'd hardly call much of that new. Changing DPS and adding in pills and weapons that should have been in the initial release of the game is not new and exciting, it's playing catch up.
I better watch out though, I might get NightTrace'd if I say too much.

Well, it looks like the Pens decided to tank the last game of the season so that they could face Ottawa first round instead of the Flyers. I'm really disappointed in the Pens for that. I hope it doesn't come back to bite them in the *CENSORED*.
Anyway, Let's Go Pens!

I figured there has to be other NHL fans here besides Nixon and I, so here's a thread for all of you to post your thoughts on the games, teams, players, ect.
Today's Games:
Chicago @Detroit
NY Rangers @New Jersey
San Jose @Dallas
St. Louis @Columbus
Pittsburgh @Philadelphia Minnesota @Colorado Phoenix @Anaheim
In other news, Crosby and Briere are sitting out todays game. If the Pens win today in Philly, they are the Eastern Conference Champions, as they would tie Montreal with 104 points, and hold they tiebreaker over Montreal.
Today's NHL on NBC game was Chicago @Detroit, Detroit came out with a 4-1 win over the Blackhawks. The Wings got the NHL's President's Trophy, which goes to the team with the best record. They're guaranteed to have home ice advantage through the playoffs.
So here ya go, Hockey fans, discuss away.

Gonna have to agree to disagree with you Rare. I believe it adds some much needed diversity to the orgs. They should be slightly different from a combat perspective honestly. It adds flavor to the game.
Do they need balanced? Yes. But removing all together is like taking 10 steps backwards at this point, even though the step forward was unwanted.

By the way, there's a reason why these things don't work: They're not intended for release.
However, we now know how close HCFrog got to finishing these before he got shoved to another project. And from the looks of it, attaching the rep requirement would be the hardest thing to do for them.
