Hello everyone. I'm currently looking for a series of items in the level 45 - 50 range and was hoping many of you would be able to help me. I'm wiling to pay for the items, but I would request that you send me the source code and I'll compile them if there is more than one charge. that way if they break, I'll have a back-up. Also we can negotiate price.
The items i'm seeking doesn't have to be the exact ones, but there are the ones I could find in my own archive, however I'd like keep the corlor scheme to match as close a possible to what I currently have. The colors are teal / Turquoise.
Here is what I need: teal Turquoise Crush Tankini - or similar top
Here's how it looks:

Just a few more notes, I'd like to keep the shoes to short boots or pumps if possible, and stay with skirts. the rest may be changed if it needs to be. Also I'd like them to be shielded or enhanced. These will be primarily RP clothes but I'd like to have some resists should I have the need to fight in them.
Thank you all for helping.

*CENSORED* Market!?

Well recently on Syntax, I farmed a good amount of SSR gum to sell on the marketplace. So last i heard 1 sold for a bout 1 million so a stack of 20 should be around 20 mill (let me know if the value decreased recently). Well, I notice the stacks of 20 aren't selling so I attempted to de-list a few and spilt them up into singles or smaller quantities. Well when I did so I noticed that instead of delisting the item, the system log tells me that I BOUGHT the item! My own item! All I have to say is *CENSORED*??
Now I noticed when you list an item there's a Fee column, I always figured that this was a small fee for having an item sell on the marketplace. So if i have an item for 500 info and a fee for 100 info, I assume I've made 400 info for selling this item. I have no idea if this is correct anymore. Also I noticed that some of the Fees are equal to the price of the item. I have another stick of SSR Gum selling for 20 million and there is also a Fee listed at 20 million. Does this mean I both make and loose 20 million!? Or is this the fee I must pay in order to de-list the item I'm selling? I'm not quite sure anymore.
Also what exactly calculates the fees in relation to the items listed? Does each item have a price cap and anything over that becomes equal value?
I submitted a /ccr in game in hopes that someone could explain this all to me, but it seems that they can't, won't, or don't have the time to.
Anyone else encounter this? If so, I can see why no one uses the market place anymore since you loose more money than you make by using it.

Ever since beta when I was able to play the game I've always wondered why the devs made abilities into ability trees instead giving us a slew of abilities to mix/match as we see fit. This is what I'm asking. Talk all of the current abilities that we have in the game and put them into a giant list, then remove ALL of the ability trees. Now adjust a few abilities that needed to be adjusted to make them usable for any circumstance. Adjust the memory cost a bit and sepeate them into three categories -- Passive, offensive, defensive. Passive will contain all the abilities used for buffing, self buffs, and general styles (Martial arts, guns, hacking ect..). These will have a higher memory cost as they will be needed more so than the others. Offensive will be all the offensive attacking abilities. These will have a slightly lower memory cost than the passive. Defensive are abilities used simply for defense / and debuffs.
Now that is sorted, you now have a recipe for extreme customization on your character. What I'm getting at is imagine this as your load out:
-Jujitsu (basic awakening self defense) -Karate -Computer hacking -Sky-high side kick -Fire Arm mastery -Full auto redux -Stealth mastery -Open Locks -Sneak -Wrist throw
then a mix of various defense type abilities.
Then you would have to level each ability from 1 - 50 so you can gain the maximum benefits for all the abilities. Also maybe add a command line when close to a hard line like /operator load (ability) then in system you'd see "(ability) Loaded X amount of memory left"
I realize the combat would have to be changed significantly to accommodate this idea, so it's not even remotely feasible now, but it would be great to see this done this way, as it would remain truer to the films.

Dunno if this is old news or not, but I went to the official website for the matrix (www.whatisthematrix.com) and I saw what I thought I'd never see -- a listing for the matrix online on the front page! It links to the old WB site which redirects to the current one under SOE. I's not all flashy or anything but just a link to it. Even so, it shows that the powers that be still care about this game.... I hope.

...I wish I never heard of Mxo...
I remember my first jack-in for beta when everything was new and I had tons of fun exploring the world, even if there was little to explore besides buildings.
the datamine construct would have been better served as a finished district.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep.

Well I recently was viewing the archived MxO website and found the article from gamespot where people talked with John Smedly. I seriously got a huge laugh at the comments being made. Mainly because I feel that SOE has not done half the stuff they said they would do, but I guess it was to be expected that no one would ever give a crap about this game. In reflection, I feel this interview was complete bullcrap and was used to make SOE look good to the press and nothing more.

Old news, probably. But I was browsing the matrix webiste and I noticed they don't have The Matrix Online listed in their Buy category (They don't have Path of Neo either). I was kinda wondering why it wasn't since this game does contiune the story, you'd think they would list it so people will know it was there. Maybe we can get Rare to pressure someone at WB to add that.

During play there is no BGM (Background music) at all. Only the sound FX (jumping, running, fighting, hard line noises, loading screens, ect...) I'll be posting my info to better help with a solution. I had sound before I uninstalled a while back, I don't have it now. Hopefully we can find a fix.

(this is a monologue I wrote for Euforia. It pretty much explains in her words what happened to her and why she picked the path she had. Pretty much her writing in a journal. Enjoy.)) Memories. Such funny little things they are. They can define you as a person. They can shape your life in the future. They can make you sady, or they can make you extatic. So many uses for them. But what happens when they are suddenly taken from you? You become lost. You see faces that are familiar, and yet you don't know them. You know time has passed and yet, you don't know how much. You reflect upon yourself and you realize you don't know who you are. Where you come from, or even why you're here. Alone and afraid. I don't know who took my memories, I don't know why, I don't know anything about myself, my choices, or my purpose. Some things I can remember other things I can't. It's like someone started poking holes into my brain, taking the important stuff and leaving the rest. Why would someone do this!? When I came back to Zion, I was alone. Although through my journey in the cold tunnels I was able to remeber some things. I remembered a little bit about the matrix. Mainly what it was and why I had plugs in my head and body. But it wasn't very detailed. When in Zion I was able to find myway to Commander Locke's desk. Although I didn't miss the look of surprise on people's faces. I didn't really understand until I spoke with the commander. He too was surprised but it was my turn when he slapped my file down infront of me. After reading I felt sick and had there not had been a seat there, I would have surely collapsed onto the floor. Dead? Even though I didn't know much, I knew my name at the very least, and seeing me here now, well I'm very much alive. Why would anyone want to lie? most importantly who? Of course the commander had me checked out from head to toe. He wanted to give me a chance to jack back in, but wanted to make sure I was stable. They did many physch tests and physical exams to make sure. Some of the results surprised me, even though I had hoped for them to allow me to jack in. They told me that someone was looking for something in my brain. Wether they had found it or not, she wasn't sure. She also told me a throey about my memories. She said that the poking around and extracting what they wanted might have inadvertantly damaged something. Basicly I could have died or become completely brain dead. Somehow, it didn't happen like that. She also said I migh have some slight amnesia and given time I might remember some things and that's most likely why I could remember things about the matrix and Zion. Although the probability of it is so low she wouldn't recomend that I hope. Well it also turns out that I am stable and not insane, and that the things that I witness from this point on won't be damaged; in other words i'll be able to remember things that happen presently. Of course, I went to work with training sims and documents to bring me up to speed about the simulation itself. It wasn't until I started reading the declassified reports on Neo that I started to feel my heart tug into a specific direction. I didn't know why at that point, but it did. Was something inside telling me to walk Neo's path? I didn't know then, but now I'm certain it is what it was. It wasn't until my first mission that I realized what I needed to do. So I did some digging around and found the name Gami and found who he worked for. I decided to contact him and join his cause. Is this the right thing to do? I do not know. I cannot tell as my past life is gone from me, but maybe I had made a mistake, and maybe this is a chance to correct that mistake with a new life. ---Euforia

As the title suggests, I am trying to piece together an outfit for my female RSI on syntax, however I do not think the color I want is all that common. Here is the color: That's called "Enhanced Pink Peral Fash Skirt (Lv. 50) I'm looking to try and make a clothing combo of this color. I'm looking to try and make everything match, but What I'm gunning for is a matching shirt either Ehnached or Armored [Lv. 50 as well.] If this isn't possible and there's too few colors in "pink" I'll take suggestions on what you think looks good and I can either jack in and see, or through screen shots. For an alternative I would also be interested in an all purple [Lv. 50] clothing combo such as an "Enhanced Purple Fash Skirt", but I would really like the pink outfit. I'll pay the crafting costs with both codebits and info used to craft them, i just need to know how much and what Is needed. I would also like to keep the source code if there are any charges left. Here's the clothing list I'm looking for - Matching Clothing: -Skirt -Shirt -Shoes NoN-Matching: -Gloves [would prefer a light color, but black is fine] Misc -Shades [if possible pink, but they don't have to be] -Outerwear [don't know if this one can be done, but I'd be interested in pink jacket and not a trench coat. My game handle is Euforia. contact me here or in the game if you have questions or if I confused you. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I forgot to add this. -.- The style of clothing doesn't matter as much as the color of it, but I'd like to stay away from things suchs as full body gowns and motorcycle suits if possible.

I recently installed the game and the mouse-over descriptions aren't working at the moment. before I uninstalled the game they worked perfectly. I installed through the software I bought on launch in 05, not sure if that's the problem or not. Full sys check didn't fix anything. Also the music has seemed to want to leave. It no longer works either. recent patch problem, or is it just me?

However she understands everything about Zion, The Matrix, the machine city -- Zero-One, and the group known as Cypherites, and E Pluribus Neo. She stands in front of a very startled commander Locke. "I am asking for a ship and operator." Euforia says evenly. "I can't just hand over ships on a whim, operative. Besides we'll need to do some tests to make sure you're ready for the field. Especially since you've come back from the dead and all." He then throws a folder down on the table -- Euforia's folder. She glances at it and leaves ignoring all orders from commander Locke to stop. ((This is a quick narrative summary of the events that happened with regards to my character. For a preface please refer to the Mega City Special News Report threads located both in the Live Events forums of the Syntax world boards or the community boards.)) There are many strange folk in this city that I live in. People with many problems of all kinds -- mental, physical, disease... Sometimes you just have to sit, listen and watch to understand. These four people decided to lend a helping hand to this poor woman. It's a shame that very little people care for others. Many people just walke right by without a look in her direction, while the others that did look, didn't try to wait long enough to understand. A *CENSORED* shame.... Those who decided to help, escorted her from Tabor Park into a building in Magog. Two of them were Machinist and one was a Zionite. They may have been undetectable from the average person, but I knew. I've been around this long, I should know how to recognize them by now. I was able to creep around the elevators and outside doors to keep in the loop. trust me It wasn't easy to gather this much. Seems like the woman had amnesia of some type. Not much was said discerning the cause, the name Merovingian did pop up frequently. This isn't surprising as his network seems to have a hand in everything thing these days. from what I could gather the reporters and police found them in this location. One of the men was trying to speak with them. Probably to stall them. It seemed to work for a while, but when the reporters saw through the lie they came back which caused them to flee once more. A woman and one of the men took to the roof of the building. As I was hiding on the roof i saw one man jump from this roof to the other side. I was expecting the woman to follow suit, however something seemed amiss. She didn't jump, but she hesitated. I have no clue as to why, but she did; at least until she had to. She didn't jump to the next roof adjacent she instead jumped off the building to the ground below. This is such a daring move that not even Zionite operatives would try on their lucky day. She got out of it alive. She must be part cat, but then again they say that beasts fight harder when trapped. The other two men must have tried to stall the media. Soon after they came running out of the building and the four took off once more. I couldn't begin to tell you where, and I'm sure the media was the same. However given a few more hours I was able to track their location. I hacked into the machine's data banks and found this image: It appears to be Kalt Chemical. Not sure why they went there or even how the hell they got in. It's been a few hours now and I haven't received reports of their departure. My masters will be pleased... --An unknown observer. A woman has recently shown up in the city, but her identity at this time is unknown. A correspondent happened upon her during a routine news broadcast and felt compelled to help her find her family or friends that can help her. She appears to be mentally distressed as she speaks what sounds to be gibberish. Her interaction with others seem to be quite rough, and her stare, on the occasion that she does look at you, is one that seems as if she looks through you. She speaks often about angels, demons, and light. Also she has the habit of counting slowly from one to four. Her description is as follows: -Caucasian/white female -Roughly in her late twenties -Emerald green hair -A large tattoos on her back and a small one on her chest. -Slim body build -Usually seen wearing dark [black] clothing She has been spotted in the districts of Tabor Park and Mara, the reliance of those areas are unknown. Our satellites have also captured these images: We urge anyone who has information regarding this woman to contact us so that we may give more info with the next broadcast, or to help our efforts to find her supporting loved ones so they can give her the best possible care possible. The many eye-witnesses whom we've spoke with have also expressed their feelings that one day she will get better. ABC News

ABC News

I was thinking this the other day, and I know this HAD to have been brought up by now... Why are we killing gangs to find code bits 1- 8 and Red Frags instead of finding them using data miner? To keep this fromb eing abused why isn't there an agent meter on it? I may have missed the discussion about this, but from how WB was hyping this game up with lines about being able to hack the fabric of the matrix itself, so wouldn't this also be included?

Off-topic discussion? probably. I wasn't too sure *shrug* When reading over a certain thread, I noticed a lot of "hacker talks" with people "breaking into SOE's servers" and such. Also this seems to happen with all of the other threads that are similar to this which makes me believe that people watch movies way too much! I wanna use this thread to comment on Hackers, and password crackers. (mods feel free to move this to off-topic should you think it goes there.) First of all Hackers aren't morons. They know thier stuff perffectly everything from the connection to the telenet to the type of server/db they are hacking. If they don't know it the take time to find out. Why? They have to! One little slip-up and they're sitting in a federal jail cell. Also note that it is a federal crime to break into databases, servers, personal home computers, ect... The real hackers if you are hacked you won't even know you were. And trust me, the person isn't about to use an online board to tell how. Most hackers will not hack a database for an MMO like The Matrix Online to steal a password. Why? There isn't any money in it. hackers want cash. They want credit card info, they want some beta source code a large corporation is working on and sell it to the highest bidder. Hackers think "big picture". Why make 50 when you can make 500,000? Script-Kiddies: The kind of person that falls into this category are annoying jerks (not all but some). Why? they're arrogant and they are always most liekly caught. These people will run a script created 20 years ago to hack a forum password. These are the people who will hack Mxo forums, accounts just to be pricks. Pay them no heed as they try to make you "afraid" of their "leet skillz" that they don't have. Crackers: These are the same as hackers only they will crack passwords on almost anything. A lot of what cracking used to be, and probably still is, is calling up a company (IE Microsoft) and getting in touch with someone that has some kind of knowledge of the computer system they use. Usually this is also don for money, but these people can be caught quickly, but the ones who are convincing cons will take longer. These are the people who will steal credit card numbers, who will make fake IDs, buy things online with your info, ect... These people will not hack Mxo. My suggestion is to find real well-known hackers/Crackers and buy or look up books in the library about them. It will give you an interesting look into the mind of these people on how or why they did it. My recomendation is Takedown: The Pursuit and Capture of Kevin Mitnick, America's Most Wanted Computer Outlaw-By the Man Who Did It by Tsutomu Shimomura (Author), John Markoff (Author).

A while back someone created emails with all the information for neighborhood contacts, Hardlines, Red Frags, ect.. and where to find them. They were quite detailed and really did come in handy when you needed to look something up but didn't like to Alt + Tab out of the game. I was wondering if anyone still had these? Mine got "thrown out" shortly after SOE added the 30-day storage auto-delete to the inbox of the e-mail system. :/ If you do i would like to ask if you could forward them to syntax.trayden for me. it would be a real help. Either PM me or put a message here to tell me if you'll do it or have done it. Thanks! [NOTE: Trayden is different than Trayen. I was thinking the othr day about languages in Mxo. Other MMO's have them, why not MxO? Here's how it would work. Zion - Common -- AKA normal english. the language everyone speaks in Zion. Merovingian - French -- If not THE french language then something that seems "close" to it. Machine - Code -- When machinis talk it's in a "code" form. Now you would automaticly be proficient in the "language" when you first choose an org, but you could also learn the other two by a certain process, or maybe an ability set. Also If you aren't proficient in them you won't know what's being said. For Example: Xeven (Zion): "Hello there, Agent." Agent (machine): "DHCHFHVN JFHLSDKFJ DJGHUDJF 123_00001." Then the same with the others. Sure it would take some work for the devs, but might be something to think about.

First before we get into this I want to post a few things. Now I know some will tell me this should be in the dev roundtable and i'd have to partially agree, however i want as many people as possible to contribute and it seem that more people will see it and post in it in general discussion. I don't know how many people have made these kinds of threads, and really I don't care. If the mods feel that this should be locked or deleted, then so be it. I'll chaulk it up to as "I tried" and leave it at that. Also if things are being said that you're personally sick of hearing, then please don't respond. I'd rather no responce than a "smart" one-liner. NO FLAMES!!!! I don't care how stupid or dumb you think and idea is; reply in a respectful manner to everyone elses ideas. I don't want this thread locked becuase people want to argue. I've been crusing the forums for some time, and I noticed a LOT of people have awesome ideas, ideas they thought through, and some that aren't as complex. I've seen many people talk about trying to bring "more game" to MxO than what we have and a plethora of other things, but the main thing I wan to discuss here are using resources that are already in the game or could be added fairly easily into the game. These ideas do not need to be extravigant or complex at all. at this time I'd like to say to please keep from posting stuff like, (I want cars, gunz, swords, ect...) as cool as they maybe this will take some time to add let alone considered. Let's start simple. I noticed recently The Sentinel newspaper had been updated a few times. I'm not asking for an all-out weekly update, but maybe one or two episdoes here an there to keep people looking. I know Chadwick has many other things to do, but surely he can find some time for this. Also keep the hidden mesages. For a long, long time Org. Collectors were quite stagnent. In other words there want's much that needed collecting. The devs should find a way to use these for at least one episode per chapter to push the story along. For instance you'd need to "piece" a puzzle together by taking things to them, or maybe find wierd or vague "news" clippings from magizines. Things like this will give players something interesting to do, and keep them checking. The other thing I'd like to comment on is the city "status" and NPCs. You see a while back there was news from the oracle about "destruction, famine, floods, ect..." I'd like to see little things change in the matrix. For instance, if it's supposed to become more hostile with gangs running around, let's place some of the NPC gangs in areas where they wouldn't normally be along with their usuall placements. This will throw all kinds of danger into the game becuase you won't be expecting a blackwood on the main streets or beside a a hardline on jack-in. Also the devs like to use "triggers" to have story NPC's randomly spawn. This coupled with the normal NPCs would really give some danger as these will scale to level. Also these NPCs can drop items for the collector, but maybe only in certain districts. So to get item "X" you will be forced into Morell to obtain the trade cost. I mentioned "city status" before, if buildings are supposed to be on fire let's do that. Or at very least put more flaming barrels in the streets to make it look like mobs are out with avengance. Or maybe something's targeted to a downtown disctirct, let's toss in somee broken windows or make certain buildings look "run down". Remember me mentioned NPCs? Maybe have the story one completely take over a sub-district. Like Unlimits making their presence known in downtown.Vauxten (inother words normal NPCs are replaced with them). It will ehnace the sence of RP danger tenfold! I'm not saying they should do this with each chapter, no not at all, but this is how they should do it: 7.1 - New Sentinel 7.2 - Story NPCs and greater number of all around NPCs 7.3 - Org. Collector items update Then randomly switch 'em all up so it's not the same thing all the time. This way it's not TOO much work, but at the same time it will still be a little extra than what they have going on right now. Once thing i would like to comment on are "Global Event'. I'm not asking for these all the time, but maybe one storyline Global Event every six to nine months? This way everyone has a greater chance to meet their favorite story characters and the devs won't be taxed with having to do them all the time. i would suggest running them Friday - Sunday (or even Monday) so a good bit of people will have a chance to get involved. This would make an even 4 "events" per year. As much as I love to change things up, it seems the Halloween and December holiday events get more effort put into them (and the anniversery event if they do it again next year) and it doesn't seem right that these should be around and other story events are put to the way-side. I know my ideas probably have no chance to be made into reality, I jsut want to give the devs a lil something to think about in a different way. Post your ideas!!

When this game first went live there were items called "Grants". What these items did was give you an ability that you didn't have loaded into your brain for a very short amount of time, but like many other aspects of the game, people complained so it was removed. The devs even took the idea one step further and made some clothing buff "Grant" certain things. Many of the "vets" here would know of these. Here I wish to disuss bringing these back in a usable form. I mentioned above that the devs used the idea of "grants" as buffs. I wouldn't want this specificly brought back at all. Although it was a cool concept, it could be either misused, or would be a waste of time, as the buffs wouldn't be worth it. What I want brought back are the pills. There were many of these that would grant you computer hacking, lockpicking, ect... for a certain amount of time. Now, I can't be sure on what exactly the duration was, I think it was around the 100 seconds or so, I could be wrong, but I have some ideas on how to make this work better. First, let's mess with the time duration -- 20 to 30 seconds. This will allow for enough time to use the pill and do what you needed to do. We don't need people being able to use thse through the whole mission, so this way you will have to use them each time you wanted to do something. Now some of you may disagree and say that these won't pomote team work, so here's the next thing we should do with these. Make them rare drops. This will make those who want them, work for them. Then let's go a step further. Allow certain construct NPCs (IE Level 3 Chevrons) drop them, but allow this in ALL of the constructs. I though of letting bosses drop them, but the reward didn't seem to justify kiling the boss(es) over. This would give these places more of a purpose. Also to keep them from floating around, remove them from the compiling / decompiling lists of the coder tree. In other words, they can only be found through the means I mentioned above. Only support Grants should be considered. Things like: -Computer Hacking -Pick Locks -Repair items(?) -Any other that may have been there that I forgot about The reason is I don't think it would be great to give someone full-on attacking abilities.

I'm currently seeking a Merovingian faction on this instance. I've read many of the recruiting posts here, and it's hard to make a decision to make, but maybe i can tell you what I want to get into. I'm looking for a faction that's into RP in the mild - heavy range. I want to be apart of a faction that does things wether it be PE, LESIG, other events, ect. I'm not into really "parties" like the ones that go on at syntax and recursion, unless it's an IC party then they can be fun. I'm looking for a faction that deals with the "darker" side of things. Or if the faction itself isn't dark, it should have a decent environment for my character to "grow" (even if my idea(s) don't pan out). My character in itself is a very cold. Also here's my characters story if you want to read it and see if i'll fit in.

There are those out there who wish to know who I am and where I have come from. To me these things are all but meaningless as I have lost my purpose, but for those of you who wish to know, I shall disclose this information, however it will be the ones who can correctly decipher the codes of the matrix to discover their true intent. Genesis I was created by machine engineers long ago in the city of Zero-One. I was coded into the Matrix and given purpose -- destruction. I was a deletion protocol; I would lay scan the underprinting of the matrix for programs that were marked for deletion. The agents would weaken these programs to the point where I could fulfill my purpose. I was quick and effective at deleting code beyond repair. Many exile, Agent, and other programs were processed in this way. Exodus My code hadn't been altered since my inital creation, so I started to become inefficient. Such as it is in the world of machine you become replaced. Once I was marked it was only a matter of time, so I chose to bide my time. I left my purpose behind to take form, not behind the scenes, but rather right in plain sight. I took the shell of a female bluepill and hid in the alleys and streets of the vast city. Knowing I wouldn't survive long without adaptation I started to offer services to those who could pay -- not in money, but more information of the matrix and how to exploit it. In return I would offer to "delete", or as you humans would say kill, anyone they wanted. Omega After a few large name killings in the many corporations around the city I started to get an under ground reputation. People would quiver at the mention of my name or my presence, those who over-step their bounds were quickly executed and others around learned by example. I eventually took the bluepill name os Christina Evalesco, one person I had killed. I found it easier to associate with bluepills with such names. Eventaully the Merovingian came to know of my reputation and my ways of conducting business. I joined his group after several discussions with him, and with every deletion I get paid hansomly, however he doesn't mind if i take on side work, from time to time. My name is Malveillant. ((OOC: This is my character's bio for the Vector instance. I hope you all have had fun reading it))

I have no clue if a thread like this has been started, but if it has, lock and/or delete this one if need be. Now I've been hearing news about the trials being a success and new red's appearing in the city on all servers. While many of them are still learning the game mechanics I'm sure many have the potential for Role-Play and even if they do not, they may still want to attend those Live Events that happen time to time. When they read the forums they hear of these things happening [myself included] but when they go into the game, they very well may not see anything happen at all. So my question is, what things can the new people do to become involved with the "story" of the game more so than just with the static content? Make sure when giving advice to add what server you're refering to, as this bit of information will be useful.

That's the question I pose. Can the knowledge be used to further your character's RP? Personally, I think not. You see when I decided to switch my character and kill off my other one, I decided to beomce a brand new redpill again and have to look at the matrix as a new person would. So my character won't know very many but the base minimum of the past events in the simulation. For instance, he knows that morpheus is dead, but he doesn't know the details of his death. So when someone tells him why he died, he's gotta very carefully weigh the words and decide wether to beleive it as truth or not. I'm interested in what you think.

Hey, your post got me thinking of an Idea that would help everyone and some of the event recaps by LESIG and the devs. Open it with a paragraph or two from Tyndall or Link (as an opeator) that's completely In-character. Instead of linking directly to the forums, you should have a webpage load with three of the most recent story events listed by server and the person can then click the link and it would send you to the corrisponding thread. This would be groouped by Server such as. Syntax - 8/11/06 - Event - 7/31/06 - Event - 7/20/06 - Event Recursion - 8/12/06 - Event - 8/2/ 06 - Event - 7/11/06 - Event Vector - 8/9/06 - Event - 7/29/06 - Event - 7/20/06 - Event Then after it list have a "View Archived Events" (the words 'view archived events' would link to that forum) Also use this to list archive copies to the sentinal so people can look at them. And if you ever expand PvP upload server data like you do on EQ2 and other games Any thoughts on this or any other uses for it that I missed?

I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering how the community members saw it. My question is, How long do you think MxO has to live based on where the game was and where you think it's going? (NOTE: I'm not saying the game is dying. I'm looking for people's opinion on this.) Personally, given the game and development staff's course, I would give it at least another year (Next March), before people get too bored and pack up and leave. This is only if the devs keep adding content at this slow course as we have been seeing. Now if the devs add multiple things and get the game rockin' again, then of course it will be around longer.

I was doing a few missions the other day when an idea popped into my head. In the 4 districts of the game there are areas that are off-limits until you find the node or level up. In these areas you are able to be tracked and found by agents. Things to cause them to come are firearm fire and bending the rules. It's understandable that as you grow with knowledge you will be allowed to access those parts of the program, but after you've out grown them, there is no more "hidden danger" or agent threats. Now should the dev team decide to open up another district in the matrix, I think it would be very cool to do the following (yes i know this is a long way off): - NPCs that are level 50 - 53 - Agent threat no-longer by passed with data node hacks I think that would give more to the "danger" in the new area. We'll need the level 50 - 53 NPC gangs to keep us on our toes. three levels up seem to be a good number so they're still killable but still quite tough. Also when you hack data nodes you'll gain the XP for it, but you'll get the message, "Data Node access denied!" This way you will always need to worry about agents and the level of "safty" is taken away. I think that would help the game retain some danger that it is serverely lacking at this time.

Trayden pens his thoughts on scrap pieces of paper he has in the folds of his tunic in the dark desloate underground terrain of the real.
Life inside the matrix is tough. Your senses need to be sharp, your defense skills even more so, for the next enemy could be lurking around the next building, inside the next alley, even on the next rooftop. Many enemies will make themselves known. They will want to kill you just to remove a foe from the next hated organization. Other will shadow you. They will collect data on you so when you fight them, they'll know your secrets and have an upper hand. These people, if they are good, will not leave a trace, but the others sometimes aren't so lucky. Many of them have found a brutal hack or a bone shattering fist with an unexpected detection of their presence. Others only have a sing warning -- a gunshot to the head.
Life outside the matrix is just as dangerous. Inside the home land of Zion spies run amuck. Some of these people are stupid enough to try and kill in a dark cave. They usually fail as other hear the comotion. But others are down right sneaky. They creep into people's houses and with one quick motion with a knife it's all over, and the person never awakes. Sometimes it's a shot from a make-shift silenced gun. These people who live to terrorize are know to us as Cypherites. Yes.... Even here death is apparant and waiting.
That's why I have come here, alone. My sences aren't what they need to be. I have become too rash, even on my journey to find an unknow killer that lurks in the shadows. I jump at every sound, both in Zion and the matrix. My mind isn't my own. I have come to these abandoned tunnels for meditation. I'm here to find a balance between myself and my sourroundings. Once I do this, I'll have the focus in the matrix that is needed to carry on with my quest.
I have come far on my own. I have killed and fought many and uncovered clues of my friend's death. I have also been defeated -- crushed like a play thing. Those who have defeated me, were only the fraction of the fighting prowess that Euforia was. I know my mistakes now. My emotions were in the way. They blinded me to the truth of my ability, and so I rushed in -- alone and unprepared.
Euforia was never alone. She surounded herself with allies, many of them powerful ones. It wasnt until a meeting with one of these friends that a revelation slammed into me; "What can you possibly accomplish without friends, Trayden?" and a heavy fist of Sephiroth X that knocked me unconscious. That comment has lingered in my head ever since the teachings in that subway.

Act I
Blood is smeared about the room, on the floor, the walls, ceiling, and even the windows. On the 16th floor of an office building in downtown, two exiles lay dead, their bodies twisted and deformed in a grotesque manner. The scent of blood fills the room, and only two people remain. A man with a black trench coat, a coat that flows down and stops inches from the ground, as if to tease it, stands tall unafraid, with his left hand firmly griping the remaing exiles throat, and his right, firmly on his gun pointed to the exiles right temple.
A black car pulls up to the building. It's a total black government looking car and two suits step out. They glance at each other and say nothing, They turn their attention to the crowd. "Would Mrs. Jenkins please step over to us?" The crowd looks around and eventaully Mrs. Jenkins spproatches sheepishly.
"Everyone else, proceed to your homes. There's nothing more to see here." The other one says to te crowd. After a few minutes the crowd desperses, not many want to tango with government agencies. Once the crowd disperses the Agents turn to reguard Mrs. Jenkins.
"Please tell us what happened here. Do not worry, you are not in any trouble and will not be harmed. We only want the truth."
"Tell me where to find him!" The man in the black trench coat demands to the exile. The proud exile doesn't budge, but matches the mans intense stare. His face is brused and bloodied, but if he can slip by he will survive. The only thing stopping him is that wretched gun. His followers had died horribly with a single shot of that revolver, the one that can kill with a single bullet.
"Trayden, Agents are in the building!" , the operator chimes in urgently at the climax of all this into Trayden's ear-piece. He adds, "You might want to hurry this process along." he adds rather sarcasticlly.
Trayden intensifies his demeanor and his grip, both on the gun and the exile. He can feel the exile's throat struggle aginst his grip. "Tell me! Where is Dwornik!" The exile says nothing further complicating matters.
"The Agents are at the door! Get out now if you can!" the operator says. Upon hearing this news, Trayden decides on a different approach. He roughly grabs the exile, swings hims around with his body so he and the exile is both facing the door, with one arm under the exile's chin and revolver in hand aginst it's head. The door opens and the two agents walk in.
"Hello Mr. Pellegri," one of them says nonchalantly. "You've cause quite a disturbance today with your episode." Trayden laughs to himself. Now the gears are spinning and he can see how he can escape, both alive and with his information.
"Tell me where Dwornik is or I'll hand you over to," he nods slightly toward the agents for emphasis, "Them." He whispers to thie exile. Upon hearing it the exile tenses knowing the final outcome.
"Don't worry about the "disturbance" men. I'm just cleaning up the trash in the building." He jerks the exile violently to prove his point. The agents nod.
"Hand him over, we shall take care of things from here." They demand again, holding their hand out as if to recieve something.
"Now or never. Your choice!" Trayden says to the exile. At this point the exile says not a word in fear, but slips a business card in Trayden's pocket.
"Mr. Pellegri?" the agents ask again.
Satisfied there is some kind of clue on the card he pulls the gun from the exile's head, and then kicks him hard toward the agents. He then bolts toward the window and jumps out of it the glass shattering and Trayden falling many floors to the ground below.
Trayden taps his ear-piece. "Exit!" he breathes heavily into it. The operator responds, "100th and 64th! hurry!" Trayen makes his way the best he can with a twisted knee. The pain is searing, but he's got to make it. He knows the Agents aren't pleased about his apparant lack of reguard of the bluepills in the system.
He snakes his way through the streets, trying not to draw attention to himself, to keep the agent alert low. He gets to the line and jacks out to his hovercraft quickly, not wasting timt to see if the Agents cared to follow.
"Is this of and use?" Trayden asks as he holds up the card.
"Hm... Let's see...." The operator pauses as he decrypts the code on the card. "It takes you to an abandoned wharehouse in Bathory Row. Not much else to say about it."
"Take me to the closests hardline, I'm going back in." Trayden says.
"What!? Why?" The operator asks.
"It's time to hunt..." Is all that is said.

Ok, I'll say I've tesed CR2, a little bit, but not really enough to completely understand it. So naturally I was kinda running blind in Mxo with my low level character (level 1 - 11). Now this bit of info is gonna be for people like me who didn't test extensively, or for the brand new players just beginning to jack in, so pay attenation.
By level 10 you will be able to utilize a martial arts path of training. These are Kung Fu, Aikido, and karate. I recently was able to obtain Karate, and I'd have it loaded and set into the default. When I was fighting i wouldn't have any MA abilities i could use, so i would use the awakened abilities such as head-butt and cheap shot. The thing was When i use them, My karate would switch to self-defense and I would have no reason why. I recently figured it out.
If you are using martial arts, you'll need to use abilities from that tree, ones such at Guard Breaker and Iron Guard (by level 12), and you wil still have your dicipline active until you switch to awakened abilities. Now being at level 11, that is a HUGE hinderance, and those abilities are obsolete. To keep myself from using them, I unloaded them from memory. I'd suggest others do the same.
i know this isn't earth shattering, but i figured i's throw it out for those who didn't know this (and there are people out there i'm sure).
