This is going to sound really stupid, but two-person emotes.  /hug, /weddingcake, /dogsniff, etc.  I've thought about this, and this was a truly unique feature to MxO.  MxO was my first MMO, so I always thought it was something that other MMOs had...  but not even WoW the Juggernaut has it.

Since earlier in the year, I haven't been able to access any new content or participate in the on-going storyline.  Is this a bug?  The last thing I was able to do was chapter 12.1, and then the Omega after that.  I don't know, maybe my launcher isn't downloading any of the patches since then.

Happy 4th birthday though.

Four years ago marks the day I not only logged into MxO for the first time, it was my first MMO and my first PC game (never heard the word 'noob' before).  Prior to MxO, I didn't own a computer and was mostly a console boy.  When I heard on the Revolutions DVD that there would be a Matrix online videogame, I put it in my budget to start saving up for a computer (didn't make a lot of money at the time).  Managed to get my computer a few days before MxO went live and got my pre-order for it (although, never got beta hyperjump or beta clothes, something the CSRs didn't seem to want to help me with :/).

Fenshire wasn't actually my first character.  I wanted to have the name Jester, but it seemed as if it were taken.  So, after trying different synonyms for 'humor', I came up with the name Jocularity.  I first logged into Method.  Don't know why, just picked a server at random. I played for about a week, and decided that I really didn't like the community there.  (Sorry guys!)  Most of the people seemed like they were snobby beta vets, and it was hard trying to get anyone to talk to.  Most of them seemed to be off doing their own thing, and couldn't be bothered with a poor noob.  So, I deleted Jocularity and picked a server with a low population, Regression.  Fell in love immediately.  Very few beta folks, a very strong RP crowd, and mostly other noobs like me.    Took me awhile to pick a name for that too...  I wanted Hauk (old D&D character I had was named Hauk Fenshire), but it was taken.  So, I ended up picking Fenshire.

Ah, memories.  When the game was fun, and bright and shiny and unlike anything I'd ever experienced before.

Been over a week since you said you'd hook us up with updates and maybe the letter you keep promising Virrago.  It's also a week from our anniversary, and we're still pretty much in the dark.

How about some updates, brah?  Maybe comforting words?  Copypasta?  Anything?  Agency beta keys?

Is LESIG still around?  I know I haven't seen any LESIG characters in awhile.  But, I mean...  are they still there?  Are the forums still up?

You people in LESIG are probably our only connection to any kind of story now.  I know some of you have storyteller tools as well, such as NPC spawns and whatnot.  Any plans in the cooker to keep this this game kicking?  Just curious.

It would really frustrate me if the people who actually had the tools to make stuff happen didn't do anything with them.  :/

So, I was cruising the other SOE games.  I've only ever played MxO, but I was curious if any of the other games would be worth getting a station pass.  I was looking at Star Wars Galaxies website, and saw they had some pretty cool stuff!

Man, how plausible would it be to get something like that here?  Not likely, I know...  but it would tremendously improve things, with the lack of Live Events now.

The tl;dr version of that webpage:  Basically, SWG has these vendors that sell storyteller tokens...  things that can be used to create prop items, effects, NPCs, etc. that last for a set amount of time.  When you start up your player event, you send out invites to the folks you want to involve, and only they can interact with the event that you set up (ie, mobs will only aggro people who are participating in the event).

God, having that in MxO would be a dream, and actually make player events something fun.

They also seem to have an appearance tab, where they can dress their character's outward appearence with clothes that don't affect their stats.  Do want.

So, after seeing the PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Kojima bundle on Amazon, I finally broke down and ordered one.  Question is, I have a standard TV (32" Sony Trinitron) and the ps3 will be hooked up via S-Video (audio-wise, I have a 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS set up, connected via optical cable)...  am I going to notice any difference between Blu-Ray and regular DVDs?

Basically, will it be worth it to buy Blu Ray movies?  I should mention that I have no intention of buying another TV for a long time.

Well, figured I'd ask for help here...  hopefully someone can help me.

Built a new computer last week, and I've got it set up to dual boot Vista Ultimate and XP x64.  I mostly wanted to keep XP around so I could play MxO (since I'd heard about some problems with Vista).

Anyhow, I started playing the game on XP, and I've got some bizzare crashing and sound issues.  There's a weird electronic whine that seems to happen at random in the game (almost like feedback), and the game seems to crash every once and awhile...  (screen goes black and I have to do a hard reboot of the system).

After screwing around with settings, and not having any success, I decided to try my luck on Vista.  Now, I've had the graphical problems most have had, but I found that using that useropts workaround helped a lot.  As far as sound goes, though, sound effects in the game sound very tinny and low quality, and they stop playing after awhile.  Music sounds great, and that still plays, but sound effects just disappear.

Help with either system would be great.  Ideally, I'd like to run it on XP, so if anyone has answers for that, it'd be most appreciated.

I have seen the error of my ways, I was under the control of Neo for a long time (hence the blonde hair and cheery disposition, but I've got dark hair again and pretty gloomy!). He wanted me to be a Zionite to protect "free minds" i.e. Red Pill operatives. He also made me do some terrible things To Close friends and factions, and I'm terribly sorry for what I did. But now, I want to right my wrongs and protect the REAL future of humanity: the Matrix. I believe that the Cypherites are the best group for this, as they follow Cypher's teachings and want all of humanity plugged in, not just the one's that accept the Matrix. So if anyone can hook me up, that would be nice! I want to reinsert people now, and pull jacks!

Alright, I have a couple of these and I wanted to ask a question of either 9mmfu/Rarebit, or someone who's used one before.

What happens exactly when you use one?  I know that Accelerated Machines spawn, but I'm not exactly clear on who they spawn on.

Do they spawn on everyone in an area?  Do they only spawn on members of an opposite organization, regardless of if they have their flag up or not?  Do they spawn on everyone with a pvp flag on, regardless of org?

Any help will be appreciated.

Had a cool idea while talking to Symmetric today...

We have all these items that we can get via collectors, hideouts, and constructs...  but there's nothing that really seperates them from regular clothing.  That's what's so cool about the Archive reward clothing, the new Uriah stuff (the fedora and the Headless shades), and the Area K Trench...  they're different!  However, when you break it down...  the Troll's Hide is just a green t-shirt with buffs.  The stats on most hideout drops and collector's items aren't really worth the hassle...  however, I think people would actually DO these things if the items were each unique, and their skins only available if you make the effort to get that item.

Now, I know the likelihood of coming up with enough new skins for these existing items are next to none...  but that's where my idea comes in.

Remember the "Thread of the Dead"?  All of these skins already exist in game.  What if we replaced the old skins of these items with these unique skins of items found in that thread?  Maybe Tin Can's Headgear could be the DJ headphones?  The troll's hide could be that promo shirt with the studs in it...  the Hacker's Glasses could be clear glasses for females, and system shades minus the earpiece for males.  The Sakura and Yuki bandannas could be the headbands that the Pandora's Box 2 enemies wear.  The Taskmaster Beret could be that black "Machine Captain" beret...  Honestly, the possibilities are endless.

Just an idea.

Last night, I received a series of three tells from a character named "Etosarsc" (which happens to be TaeCross scrambled):

T+ obviously means "TaeCross".

In addition to this, several people also received Xfire invites from TaeCross (who actually used the name 'taecross') with the following encoded message included:

Attention any Zion and/or E Pluribus Neo ship that can hear me...

In light of Agent Pace's recent actions, I believe it's time to step up these extractions.  In spite of everything that has happened, let's not forget why Zion is here.  To help those who reject the System to be freed.

Now, I'm not talking about dropping code bombs or sending out malicious emails.  I'm talking about good ol' fashioned "Red pill or blue pill" extractions.  Searching the Matrix for those who are trying to reach out to us, scouring message boards, emails, grafitti... the whole nine yards.  Ducking into back alleys to avoid Agents, meetings in filthy, condemned buildings.

I think we took for granted the time we had while we were protected by the Truce.  Extractions were made, to be sure, however it seemed to cease being our primary goal.  I say we bring this goal back to the front.  At least for myself, I will be.

Any who wish to join me are welcome.  I will be receiving a list of individuals from Tyndall daily, and running operations to meet these people.  Most, hopefully, will take the redpill and be freed.  Some may take the bluepill.  All I ask is that you accept the choice that those who take the bluepill make.  The Devildog will be on standby to help pick up and trace any human that takes the redpill.

Naturally, while running these operations, the Machines will view this as a hostile action.  Those who accompany me, be prepared to defend yourselves.

Just wanted to give a shout out to certain members of LESIG2.0 who have really stepped it up since Chapter 8 started.

Eventual, Rylet, Reposco, and Illuminia.  Prior to Chapter 8, you guys weren't the most active of liaisons (except maybe Rylet), but you guys have been putting in some serious time the past few days.  Just wanted to let you know that it hasn't gone unappreciated.

Special recognition goes to Eventual, who has been just plain kick *CENSORED*.  The Machine org really needed someone like you, and I'm glad you finally stepped up to the plate and increased your activity.

As always, Merrit and Toluca rule the school, and I don't need to express again how awesome these two are.
