basicaly you just one up the person above you, and give a new staement. Example: I lift heavy weights. Response: I lift heavy weights while I run. I play drums. get it? feel free to make it as rediculous as you want, just keep it fun. I play shred metal with only my pinky finger.

i know it's been discussed before, but to save myself from the banning of a necro'd thread, i'll just bring it up, here. anyway, so when you turn off the HUD, the one thing that pissess me off more than anything is that the System messages are still popping up on screen. i know that i'm already in combat when i switch styles, and i don't need to be reminded that my target needs to be stated when WDD doesn't go through. it's ruined a lot of my screenshots, so i'm kind of annoyed with it. also it lasts for flippin' ever.

you all have probably experienced it. the sadness that our wonderful MMO has stumbled upon. it just makes me sad to know that we are so neglected as a whole by the big men upstairs (not you, Rarebit. we all love you). it's just depressing that we are in a situation where the World, Enviorment, Story, Combat, and Content all have so much potential, but are barely recognized by the big time Exec's running the show. i know that the likelyhood of some SOE CEO suddenly waking from a troubled sleep and saying, "The Matrix Online needs funding!" is very, VERY slim (if existant at all), but it's just a might sadening to see such Hypocritical BS come from the big dogs. i Love this game to death, but it's death is not something i love to think about, however imminent it is. oh well, i just wanted to get that off my chest. i'm sad right now Edit: by the way, this isn't a rant, just how i'm feeling.

anyone notice that they like to kind of slide, or teleport around? i was in 01 earlier and even when they're rooted they'll go from the platform to the lower level in a second. noticed it with some other NPC's in mission areas. i'll root them, and then they slide through the wall into a door i can't open. mildly annoying if i do say so myself.

the movies tell us a lot about the main ideas, philosophes, and some background on the Matrix universe. with the release of, "Animatrix," we are given even more background and history of said universe, and it's workings. interviews and other works either written by, or revised by the 'W' brothers has delved even deeper into these side plots, and this is a thread that would hopefully combine all of that knowledge into one place on these forums. so, what do we know? this can be charecter backgrounds, history, functionality/workings, allusions, what ever. just don't post a wiki-pedia link =P so, my input is that there are more cities in the simulation that just the mega city. we know that there are multiple countries with-in the simulation from the comics, and from when Neo was searching for Morpheus, as it states he was last seen somewhere in Europe. also, there is a story about a ship that crashes while some of the operatives are inside the Matrix, around a city much like Pheonix, Arizona. that, coupled with the story of someone the machines pulled from the simulation who was located in London provide a pretty clear idea that there is more to the Matrix than our lovely little Metro World. so, what do you know?

The Runner By: Mobyias "That's it, you're in." said the Operator, as he finished punching in the final Co-ordinates for The Runner, "..that's as close as I can get you." The Runner made a quick glance at the endless row of doors behind him, and gave a small chuckle. "They're not making this easy on us, are they?" he joked. "It's a pretty tough encryption, one of the hardest I've ever seen. But considering what we're after, it's probably not going to be getting any easier," commented The Operator, with a sigh of anxiety, "Remember, don't let your guard down.", "I know, I know. These guys aren't anything to mess with. You don't need tell me twice." The Runnner retorted, as he patched in his final defenses. "Oh right, and one last thing. these arn't the normal Sentry gaurds. they've been upgraded... a lot. Far more than we expected." The Operator informed. The Runner was upset with the lack of confidence his Operator was showing him but not surprised, the danger was very real. The Runner bent down, taking his stance, and closed his eyes to analyze the precise distance in his head. It was far. The distance was discouraging, and adrenaline began to fill his body. He knew the danger, but he also knew what success would mean for his cause. It was a heavy task, and it meant a lot to him that he was chosen for it. The thought of failure passed through his mind as he began to control his breathing pattern. Failure was not an option. He opened his eyes, and touched his ear piece one last time to signal that he was ready. The skin tight body suit he wore supplied a nuerological sedative to keep his muscles from locking during his flight, and it suddenly felt even tighter than it had before. he prepared him self one last time. He concentrated on his goal, focused on his obstacles, and freed his mind of his worries and with one last breath, he opened his eyes, and took off down the Hallway. He was moving fast. it felt good, he set himself to an easy and quick pace as he began to sprint down his Route. He began to feel confident again. He felt as if he could take on the world right here and now. He felt like he was untouchable, invincible even. The Runner began his approach on his first turn. he analyzed it closely and calculated the approxamate distance that he had traveled, and how far he had left to go. He was moving faster than he had expected but this was a good sign. The Runner came quickly to the turn, leapt to the wall facing him and after four or five steps on the wall, he glided through the air, and for a brief moment, he felt weightless, before impactnig the ground at a steady sprint. Each freshly painted door passed by in a blur, until all he could see were streaks of teal and white. The next turn came up on him even faster this time, and he was now much further ahead than he had planned. The Runner's anxiety began to fade, and he questioned the ease of his assignment, thus far. his thoughts began to wonder, and as he leapt into the crouching position, and bolted again around a turn, he near lost his balance as he landed. The Runner caught himself without too much of a loss in his pace, and stumbled to regain his footing. his attention had completely been consumed by his error, and he took his eyes off of the path that lay before him. "That was close." He thought to himself as he turned his attention back to the path ahead of him he was met with a gun in his face. He jerked in a start, swatting at the barrle and clumisly side stepping the obstacle. He tumbled into the floor, sliding for quite a distance, gunshots ringing in his ears, and bullets flying by him. "You are not authorized to be in this area!" the sentry shouted, as it continued to unload its gun into the direction of its target. The Runner stumbled to his feet as fast as he could, panicking, barely dodging the bullets with every uncooridinated jerk of movement trying so desprately to out run his attacker. "Escape is impossible!" it shouted again, still firing at the agile target. The Runner was panicking. all of his training wasn't going to mean a thing if he didn't calm down. he began to sprint as hard as he could away from the Sentry, unsure of where he was, exactly, and where he was going in this maze of flourescent Doorways. This was a bad situation. A very bad situation. He franticaly bolted down a random hallway to escape his attacker, only to be met with the stock of a rifle in his chest. He fell backwards, the pain was excrutiating. He winced and coughed as the owner of the rifle took it's aim. He screamed, and in a wild thrust, he kicked the Senties legs out form under it, gunfire spraying the walls and cieling. The Runner was terrified, and scrambled to the edge of the wall where he grabbed at his chest, his heart was racing. Now disarmed, the Sentry reached out and grabbed The Runners ankle, dragging him closer. The Runner, still sick with terror, began kicking wildly at his attacker, in hopes that it might let go. this was to no avail. The sentry stood up, still grasping the flailing intruder, and swung him around, smashing him into the wall. The Runner tried to screamed in agony as he was dropped to the ground, breathless. The Sentry walked slowly over to him, and bent down holding the victems throat, and began to brutally beat him. The Runner feeling dazed, dizy, and weak made an attempt to stop his attacker, and grabbed it's punching arm as it came down for another blow. however the Sentry simply pinned his other arm down, and met forhead to chest in what was possibly the most painful thing The Runner had ever experience. with almost no energy left, he began grabbing on to anything he could in a desprate attempt to break free, grabbing all around his attackers combat jacket. As the Sentry prepared for one last killing blow, The Runner saw a knife stored just under it's arm. hastily he ripped it off the Sentry's vest, and thrust into the center of it's chest. it's neck made a slight twitch, but it made no expression, and so he pulled it out and swung the blade acrost it's throat. still giving no sign of notice, the sentury collapsed to the ground, as it's red met the white. The first sentry that he had encountered finally made it's way around the corner and again shouted it's warning before continuing to fire. Bullets flew past his face so close he could smell the particles of burning gunpowder as they wizzed by. he wasn't as prepared for this as he thought he was. Just then two shots grazed him on his shoulder and his side. he was horribly tired, and weak, and he began to tremble violently, as he pulled him self upwards. It was a terrible pain. Finally, the Runner regained his stance and darted down the hallway in a mad dash. He was rushing, but the adrenaline was beginning to help him. He turned down another corner to meet an abrupt dead end, nearly smashing into the wall before him. He was cornered. he didn't know what to do and he could hear what he thought to be more sentries as they approached, preparing their weaponry. His mind was racing. He froze for a moment, and tried to think of something, anything, he could do but he just couldn't. Questions of how he lived his life, regrets, and if he would die in such a confusing horrible place raced through his mind. He shut his eyes, clenching them closed trying think of a way out. Then he remembered where he was. The sentries were drawing nearer. He was afraid for his life. And swiftly he opened his eyes and started grabbing at the doors around him. All were locked except one. He thrust it open with a wide swing almost knocking himself over, and stumbled through it. He slammed the door behind him as hard as he could, the sound of gunfire pounding against it from the other side. His eyes were closed, but upon opening them, he found he was still in the hallways, but atleast he was safe. For now. He took this time to catch his breath, and he slumped over, leanind hard against the wall, and slid down to the floor, trying to calm himself down, and figure out where he was exactly. Since the begining of the Truce, Zion was supplied with a rather vague mapping network of the Backdoors. The Runner checked it, only to find that his accidental detour, and near death experience, had actually brought him 736 meters closer to his target. he was almost there, but he had taken quite a beating. He peeked around the corner, the awkward positioning paining him all over. There were four more sentries waiting. he felt his heart sink. He thought for a moment on how he could bypass them with little to no confrontation. He peeked around the corner again to measure the distance between him and the gaurds. roughly 42 meters. just barely enough for what he had in mind. The Runner crouched down again trying to calm his body, and his mind. trying to find his focus, and remember what he was here for. he closed his eyes and began to concentrate on his task. he would do it this time. no misshaps. He opened his eyes, and with a grunt, lept unto the wall, and around the corner into a dash. he was moving at a speed faster than any he had traveled before. the world seemed to slow down to him, and he felt more intune with everything. he quickly, and skillfuly, dodged the sentries with ease, hurdling through the air, and off of walls as he evaded his attackers. They meant nothing to him, now. He quickly put distance between them and himself, continuing down his path. He turned once, then again, and soon found himself facing a line of heavey defense of sentries and agents. He could see it. he could see his goal. it was so close. the final door. Gunfire began to drown out the sound of everything else. nothing else mattered except for the target. Bullets struck his entire body, some grazing him, others penetrating him. Blood leaked into his left eye. But he barely even noticed that or the pain that emanated from him. He was unstoppable, dashing along walls, hurdling through the air, and sliding past foes he made his way closer and closer to his goal as more gunshots began to strike him. He was numb, and determined. He jumped, kicking one of the agents in the chest, and using it as a platform to extend his jump. He dove with the feeling of success filling him, gunfire tearing his suit apart, and striking him violently. He was there. Flying through the air, he smashed through the final door, and rolled into a run, gunfire still chasing him. with out-stretched arms he dove through the air and grabbed it. It was his; he had succeeded. He fell to the ground sliding, his goal clenched tightly in his hands, held close to him as his final conscious moments passed by. He stared at it as if it were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He did it. He completed his goal. Three of the five agents surrounded him as he lie there. "This one is quite impressive," "His determination is remarkable," "He had made it further than the others," "But he is still," "Only Human...." The End.

so, i have barely ever posted any of my work on the DN1 but i have decided that i would share some of the cool things (in my opinion) that i've fiddled around with. most of my pictures are just enhancemnts, but every now and then i decide to do some bullet trails, or something. some of these were done in picasa because i don't actually own Photoshop, just the trials. i have been saving up, however, and i'll have it soon as to continue my better work. Enjoy

ok, so i know a lot of people have problems with the MKT tree, and i'll admit it is way over-powered, but was there some kind of nerf i didn't know about? every time i throw a knife with a debuff on it the timer cuts off at one second. i've tried it with crippling throw, nuero-dart, Deadly throw, blinding throw, and sever artery. all of them only last about a second with the downgrades. thoughts?

this is one thing that has bothered me for a very long while, and i know it has been discussed multiple times before, but i just thought it could use some recognition once again. The hyperspeed animation is possibly the most matrixy of all of them, excluding combat, and just looks so dang cool when you turn off the code. however, you can't get the code to disapear with out sacraficing a few other neat FX like bulletshells, gunfire, punching sounds, etc... so i would ask that it be looked at once again to either tone down the yellow code, change it's colour, or remove it all together. thoughts?

i already know this is possible, because i've seen custom Launcher Scripts written up by players So here's my idead. If you notice when you open up the launcher, and accept the terms of service, you are taken to this screen - notice it says ZionOs. well, i'm not with zion, so why would i use their system? i wouldn't i would use the machine System. same for the merovingians. my proposal is that we are given a small .cfg, or whatever file type it is, that we can get from the website that replaces that ZionOS, with MachineOS, or MerovingianOS, or whatever. i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to do. hell, maybe even a player written one, who knows. just one of those little tidbits that would be cool. Edit: image is not working at this time, so just open up the launcher for a second and look at the top until i can fix it.

Now, before you start spamming that we don't have an animator, I have thought that through, and I do believe this is possible, even with the current lack of resources this game has. Anywho, on to the idea. Earlier today i was fighting an NPC when, an area effect radius expanded in my general area from a near by mob, just as i finished off the one i was fighting. That's when it struck me. The idea that what if when you finished off an NPC a shock wave went out if you, say, maybe brutaly beat his @#$ down during the fight? So i got to thinking of what kind of significance this would play into the fighting system, and my first thought was, "what if slowed every one within the shock wave?" well, thats too powerful. it would cause people to start complaining about imbalance in PVP, and MA's are too strong, blah-blah-blah. So then i decicded that, what if this shockwave just caused the re-use timer on your free-attack, and interlock initiative to set off. It would only effect you with-in 3-5 meters, so gunman and hackers shouldn't have a problem with this, and would give you a slight advantage against being ganked in PVP by the 5 other MA's free-attacking you. The animation would be simple, consisting of things we already have. The participants in the interlocked fight would have no animtion changes, the recievers of the shock wave would react as if they were just kicked in the head by a kung-fu free-attack (I think you all know the one i'm talking about), and the shock wave itself would just be an area effect radius with a white coloration. I understand this wouldn't be slotted at the top of the priorities list, if considered at all, but i just thought i might share the idea with you all, and recieve some feedback on it. Thoughts?

I remembered reading way back when that they had their own accounts, and played the game, but that was a long time ago, when MxO was still very young, in a sense. in an interview with them they said they would hang around hardlines asking obscure questions to people regarding the story, or just some of the dialog. but again, that was a long time ago. have they mentioned anything about the Matrix recently? have they turned their backs in shame of MxO? or do they still jack-in every now and again?

for those of you who remember the training construct, part of it contains a white room with chairs, a small table, and an old television set. the area is already in game, so why not add it as a seperate zone? sure we have Org. bases, but not every one has enough cash to fork over for the keys. and while it is, as a 50, some what easy to get the key, this could be a sort of substitute until that key can be aquired. or just for variety. to get there you could either use a hardline, or the loading area. the only problem i can see with this is that the 'construct' mentioned is a piece of the actuall training program. not a seprate zone. and seprating that piece might take more work than i could imagine (seems like everything does, huh?), or possibly mess with the training program (not sure how, but you never know with MxO). which, if this were the case, would condradict the entire name of this thread. but i don't think it could be that much trouble. thoughts?

ok so i logged out about 3 hours ago and just got back and my launcher
was gone. every thing else was ther but the launcher, gone. i thought
about it, did a search on the forums, and found a solution. so far it
worked but not 100%. i downloaded the MxO launcher.zip, copied it to
the MxO directory, and started patching it. but then it told me i was
running low on disk space and i decided to exit out of the patch and
clean up my harddrive. well i deleted about 4 gigs worth of crap and
when i tried to open the patcher that i had just downloaded i got the
same error. for some reason every time i close the patcher it deletes
it and i have to re download it. any ideas why?

ok so people have been asking for wall running and since CR.2 the wall
animations we did have are gone. so how about making them into
animation emotes. we already have the animations and it could work
where ever like the /leanwallloop so it wouldnt matter if you had a
wall or not. so what do ya think?

can we get some new clothes? i like the clothes we have now. my
inventory is packed with clothes to look like any thing ex: agent,
seraph knock off, bad *CENSORED*, bum, Mr. Red any thing. but there are so
many pieces of clothing i see on exiles and NPCs that we dont have.
like the closed half duster that the lupines and pedestrians wear. how
bout just a regular shirt and tie without the vest? how bout just a
shirt thats actually buttoned all the way to the top? i know they keep
telling us, "adding new clothes will break the data base," or something
like that so take your time as long as we know its on the way.

for a while now i've been asking around and the only answer i get is, "turn up your weather detail." well i have. infact ive had it on max since the game went live. i checked for a new driver and updated but still the problem remains. i used the search knowledge base, nothing came up. i tried email/chat support but it just lead me to a page telling me to create a new account (im pretty sure that the email was never sent). any ideas? suggestions? thoughts?

i have already /bug this but just wanted to make sure you all knew about it. i've noticed that, while not 100% of the time, using abilities like Sniper Shot while concealed bring you out of concealment before the ability has actually been used. what im guessing happens is that the game is trying to determine if the ability is right for concealment or not. but then again what do i know?

how about more movie style agents. it bugs me to see an agent pop out of a pedestrian that never existed. like your in a mission area and it says the agents have a lock on you. instead of them just popping up right next to you, how about in the elevator or down the hall if its an apartment building or office and they hunt you down?
Add ideas. Flame mine.

i dont know how hard it would be but maybe just a simple looping animation when your running like in max payne. looks like your trench is moving in real time physics but its really just a preset animation. it would make hyper jump alot cooler

ok now ive noticed this for a while and because of it i barely wear full length trenches. theyre stiff as a board and make you look like a penguin. every time i look at some one in black all i see is a penguin wearing red pants and hat. also the trenchs are too far out to the side maybe close them up a lil more they would look better. like the broucher coat or what ever its called only not tied at the waste. it just doesnt look right. which also brings me to another thing.
closed trenches. closed trenches look so bad *CENSORED* in the movies and we see them on NPCs and pedestrians why can we have them? and another thing, the prophet duster. it just looks downright weird. its not as long as the other trenches and looks like a dress. granted it would still look like a dress if it was closed up a lil bit more, it still doesnt look right. one more thing. now im not expecting this to be rushed to the top of the list or even make the list at all but trench movement. like in Max Payne were his coat looked like it was moving in real time physics but it was just a preset animation looping over and over. that would make hyper jump look so much cooler.
add your thoughts. insult mine.

i know ive posteed this before but i still cant see the rain. why? is it a bug? did they get rid of it? whats going on? i can tell when its raining becasue i can see the splash when it hits the ground and i can hear the thunder and lightning. i have every thing turned up to max and i still cant see it. any one know what the problem is?

i know this is probably gonna get ignored but is any one else tired of
looking like a penguin when your wearin a trench coat? if there isnt
gonna be trench phyisics can u atleast make it look a lil different. it
just looks a lil bit odd when a trench is stiff as a board.

i dont know if any one else had this problem but i cant
see the rain when its falling i can hear it i can see the drops on the
ground but i remember in beta when i started i could see the rain just
fine but now its gone is this a bug or some thing wrong on my end?
