So, any news on this yet? I guess it's a bad day to ask, considering it's a Saturday, and not too much, if anything at all is operational at SOE.

Imax, I'm surprised you like Raiden. Raiden, besides Big Boss is my favorite character, I wouldn't place one first and then second. I find it funny how people don't take kindly to Raiden's appearance in MGS2. They don't realize that the story was never about Solid Snake, it was about Big Boss. Solid Snake is the Raiden to Naked Snake, as Raiden is to Solid. Now, it seems, Raiden is taking the torch. It's looks like we're going to be in for an incredible story with Peace Walkers, and there's not question about how Rising will turn out. Waiting will be...difficult.

Ah, pieced together very well. Big Boss is indeed my favorite character, with Raiden not even second, but in the same spot. Now, I'm wondering why there is such a huge likeness between Raiden and Grey Fox, if your assumptions are correct. This has got to be even before Metal Gear if it all fits in the way you pieced it together, because BB is indeed, still young.

Society killed the sequels. Today everything is fast-paced, commercial, and quick consumer digest. Most people don't delve into profound and critical thought, take lengthy anaylsis, and to heart. The sequels were the most vital elements to the trilogy, it's a tragedy that it's just not everybody's cup of tea.

Ha ha, even though I've been gone from this game for over a year, there hasn't been one day where I haven't frequented the forums. I haven't been able to jack-in so I've forgotten about your Archive. /facepalm Well, what I have in mind is of course text-documents and tons of screenshots. So, if I have to contribute in the monetary field, I'll do my best.

Now that the simulation is going down, with our final strike already planned for approximately two months from now, we won't be able to jack-in ever again. So, I've decided to go on a massive undertaking: archiving the Matrix (Online) as we know it to date. Who's with me? *I might make a web site for this, or affiliate it with existing sites. Right now, though, money is tight, and I'm looking for a new job because the current one is total crap, I'm just about ready to quit even without finding a new one. So, we'll see how this goes.*

The storm of course had something to say about Raiden. The sun breaking through and shining, though, that's the light at the end of the tunnel, I suppos, Imax. As to the eight, I'm stummped, too. Hmmm, wait, would eight be the eigth installment in the series, full scale and canon title in the series, maybe? (Full-scale meaning excluding Portable Ops, and such.)

A bit late, but, after The Matrix Online, where do you people plan to go? I joined the Matrix online for the love of the story, and it's style. I doubt I'll ever completely retire from MxO, I might be on and off on my account, but, I'll be around here. I've been dreaming up an incredible story that I plan to transcribe into comic book form, within the Matrix mythos, incorporating many story events and characters from The Matrix Online, what I think should have been the cannon, as envisioned by a fan who is a mythos purist. Sticking around here would work to an advantage on that objective. It was promised that we would be a part of the story, so ideally, I will be adding players into the story, in fact 50% of this will be told in the perspective of the players. Besides, that, though, where are you guys going to? I need an MMO, and MxO's story driven style was the main selling point. All that's left to offer from that point of view is the up and coming The Secret World and Star Wars The Old Republic. I might go back to getting on to FFXI, too. - Final Fantasy XI
- Star Wars The Old Republic
- The Secret World
Where are you guys going?

I greatly doubt that: I think she was trying to get people to realize they're only making the situation more miserable than it has to be when they could be using their time, energy and passion to make something good from what we have here.
Don't worry, I immediately detected the sarcasm. I actually laughed out loud. Anyways, back on topic, sure, it may seem like there is an air of people going around with a pretentious sense of entitlement, but you have to understand that we were promised so much at the beginning, and even though it was a sketchy start, we essentially got what we were promised. Then we had to endure a grueling beating of our legs with a baseball bat (a six month stand still as the transition from Monolith to SOE went on - six months!), and then endure a beating on the ground...with a baseball bat, not because we are stupid and we can't hit the "Cancel" button, but because we saw something amazing and we had hope that we'd see it again. Okay, let's say somebody did have it up to their neck with disappointment from the game and decided to cancel, where was this die hard Matrix fan who loved the franchise for it's on par to a classic novel of an epic, which means understanding and appreciating the mythos of the sequels supposed to go? Understand? Sure, some throw the garbage straight to the fan when they start whining, and sure some fool unleashes a Pandora's Box of histrionics, but that happens in any online game - any. Why? For the reason that most people who play online games from top economy countries who don't understand a world where things are not handed to them, so to an extent, you're right some people around here do have a pretentious sense of entitlement, but here, that's hardly the case to people's lament of the case of The Matrix Online's downfall. You didn't see what we had the honor to see.

No. The movies and games were made either before or indepentantly of MxO, thus no mention of the Assassin or Anome in any of them. I enjoy them a little more now actually, due to the extended story past the sunrise at the end of Revoltuions. I know what happened next. What it does do, though, is changed my attitude towards SOE in general. When/if MxO tanks I doubt I'll look at The Agency or DC Online more than just a trial period. It's like being in a bad relationship and having one good thing left. Once that one thing is gone, why stay in an abusive relationship where they stomp on your dreams?
Sadly, all that we are left with is one big action-based chatroom. After I have my last few kicks, here and there, within the simulation, I'm going. How has SOE's treatment of MxO changed my attitude towards the Matrix in general? In no way whatsoever, it's still one of the most extraordinary works of fiction I know, and the films along with the writers and directors still compel me strongly to get into film. The only thing that SOE has done is left me extremly embittered. I pray no promosing MMOs go to SOE because SOE and I - never again.

When I was still around before my hiatus, I was an advocate of the full compatability in story and gameplay to have The Real as a part of MxO. I'd often point to SWG as an example with X planet being the Matrix, and space being the Real. Some people agreed, then I had some very tough opponents highly skilled in persuasion and argumentation in opposition thought of me absurd. Fun times, even if people agreed though, it's not like it was ever going to happen.

Dunno if it was so noobish, but it was during those early days where you could get stuck in the air and still walk, and of course, it was the favorite thing on the menu of exploitables. I never bothered learning how to use the technique since I was firmly against exploiting. At the usual hang out during the Enumerator era for Zion by Mara C, the rooftop adjacent to the hardline itself, I jump off of the roof but end up higher than the roof itself. People start joking around, asking if I'm Neo. I then proceed throughout the day, as if king of the world, claiming I'm Neo! -_- It was fun while it lasted.

=O Somebody actually remembers? O.o Oh, yeah, I see you, there, hlew! I never ACTUALLY left. After many hardships, lack of funds, desctruction of computers, and moving, I've finally been able to resub. It's only been a month or three since I've been able to have an active subscription again. I should have my new machine (not actually new, salvage and such) operating within the week, then I can actually install and jack back in for one last time, since this is what I've come back to - the end. Like I said, though, I never ACTUALLY left, even when I had to axe my subscription, I've lurked daily. Life is for the lulz, ya know? I did say, 'til the end, didn't I? (When server shut down is, I have no idea, either in the next 10 years, or whenever the economic crisis swallows SOE whole.) As well as Vector for Life!

There is a reason films are films and games are games. Have a look at 90% of film to game adaptations. Disaster. Same with 90% of game to film adaptations. More disaster.
Most people will tell you, with a just the slightest sense of overall technical quality in films, that video game to film adaptations suck! Most adaptations of books, cartoons, anime, etc., blow! The reason for that, though, is because Hollywood thinks they can handle this on their own pretty well. As far as they know, they usually do achieve their goal, they make their money, and then go home. They don't care that they just crushed thousand's of fans pride and joy in the fiction, what they've spent countless hours and dollars devoting themselves to. Hollywood always hands these things to the wrong people. The Wachowskis aren't Hollywood, Christoper Nolan is not Hollywood. Hand these things to the right people and it can work, they don't even have to be big names, many prolific screenwriters and directors that have simply never had their names at the top, and everybody has their start somewhere.
F*!#ing Hollywood! (As a side note, I hope to write and direct in the future, hopefully as my main profession.)

Well, I guess this kicks any Matrix related material out of the way if it was even far off in the horizon of the Wachowski's minds, if it's true. If this is indeed true, though, they will most likely take this, common knowledge for the fans of The Matrix that the Wachowski's are comic book fanboys. The way the Matrix Sequels were done, the trilogy would turn out outstanding, and Superman's popularity at the top should be bumped up for about another 50 years, maybe? Also, Phrack, don't compare the Wachowski's to Smallville writing and directing cast. If one person can't learn to ride a bicycle, it doesn't mean the rest of the world can't learn to ride one, either. As to reading reviews online, and listening to what your friends had to say, whom have most likely never opened a Superman comic book, and have an outstanding grasp of overall technical quality in television and film drama production, they must know that Smallville is great! Right? ...Right? Just saying.
