Support Forums General Technical Help and Questions Fresh Format - What to get? Fresh Format - What to get? Huxley2k7 0 04/07/2006 09:02

Hello all, again...

I've just formatted my games computer thanks to a horrible windows bug with my old Home Edition but im on Professional now, anyway...

What should i get? I feel theres so much things im missing...
I have:

81.98 Nvidia drivers, (Prefered)
6.70 Nforce drivers,
DirectX 9.0c,
Driver Cleaner Pro,
3DMark06,
HotCPU Tester and of course,
Matrix Online.

What else do i need? Is there an AMD Athlon driver i 'need', because i didnt bother with installing the drivers etc from the Motherboard CD because the CD is faulty (as far as i can tell) and each time i use it - it totally bugs my system. So, if there is anything i also needed from that CD someone please let me know along with any other programs or utilities you'd recommend! Also drivers?

Please consult my PC specs for information that i'd love you to share with me

Operating System: Windows XP Pro - Service Pack 2
Motherboard: Nforce 4 Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra SKT 939 6.70 nForce drivers.
Graphics Card: GeForce 6800GS 256MB Ram PCI-Express 16X - 81.98 Drivers.

*Weeble bop* Incoming Rants'mission....

I'm amazed and delighted, to browse these forums, and find that the vast majority of threads, posts and discussions are actually quite civilised and quite rarely contain ''omg d00d *CENSORED* n00b!''

...That being said, what in the hell happens between the space of time that it takes closing the internet browser - double clicking Matrix Online shortcut and waiting  (Roughly 3 minutes) before you jack into the Matrix Mara Central hardline  and enter your ''*CENSORED* l337 pwnd j00 gf gf gf duel??!111oneone'' state / trance of mind? Its just mad! This question isnt aimed at the minority of people who are not like this, just the other, ermm, few?

Anyway - with that off my chest. Im quite new with Matrix Online and unfortunately had to avoid it for a looong time till i got my new ram (Joined a few months ago). I was wondering, are there any new Redpills (Level 1-15) or generally any level characters interested in hookin' up for some machinist role-play? (I'm a level 9 Operative / Spy.)

Just my two cents, if anyone isnt particularly interested - be sure to see an annoying machinist poking around for some roleplay fun!

(Almost forgot - Im on Recursion)

Bye!

Support Forums General Technical Help and Questions SIck of this unstability! SIck of this unstability! Huxley2k7 0 02/16/2006 13:00
This is just beyond frustration now, i've purchased a new computer and a new router now, opened the required ports and anything else i can do to get rid of this horrible unstability Matrix Online has and its unbeatable. The sad thing is, it seemed to have gotten even worse since the last goddamn patch. What can i do? This game is becoming unplayable, it was unplayable from the start but i thought i'd give it a chance. There's no real EU support, considering there is no server that is best for EU they're all as bad as each other, all stationed in the US. As much as i don't wanna put this game down, i might have to at this rate.

My pings are hanging around 200-400 all the time, somehow jumping from 150-300 in one go for egsample, this is just resulting in a completely crappy gameplay experience, jerking everywhere. If im in combat i lose something like 50 health before the enemy has actually begun initiating the attack. Sometimes ill die, then jump up again, then die again. All things like this, i can open doors about 10 feet away before im near to them. I've tried to ignore things like this and forced myself to like the game but it just aint happening.

My FPS are fine so dont worry about those.

Is there actually any solution or is everyone here playing from the UK experiencing the same problem, they just dont mind paying for this?

Someone just put me out my misery.

Here are my specs; (All brand new)

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition - Service Pack 2
Motherboard: Nforce 4 Gigabyte Technology GA-K8NS Ultra SKT 939 6.70 nForce drivers.
Graphics Card: GeForce 6800(GS) 256MB Ram PCI-Express 16X - 81.98 Drivers.
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+ San Diego Chip - 2.26GHZ
RAM: 1 Gigabyte
Hard Drive: 80 Gigabyte MAXTOR 6L080M0
Power Supply: Hiper Technology TYpe R(Blue) - 580 Continuous Wattage.
Networking: Safecom Router.
Internet Speed: 1 Megabyte broadband.
Support Forums General Technical Help and Questions Horrible Lag / Choppyness!? Horrible Lag / Choppyness!? Huxley2k7 0 02/05/2006 04:51

Hello everyone,
Since i started MxO a few days ago, i've always noticed a a horrible, unstoppable shudder / jerk occuring when my character is running down, around, along the road, looking around, fighting, jumping, you name it... Though it mainly occurs when im running down the streets, entering new locations. For egsample Mara C to Magog. I can run this on full graphics and still hit 30-40 FPS. At low settings i can hit 60-85.

So what did i do? Bought an entirely new beast system. Didnt solve it.

I've tried EVERY different graphical setting, opened the required ports and consulted every 'help your performance / lag' thread on this board. I'm starting to think now, it MUST be this lag. My ping is ALWAYS at 210-400ms! Im on a 1Megabyte broadband connection! My FPS are, at an average with my current settings 40-60+. The latency is ALL over the place in this game, maybe its this unstability causing the problem. The way my ping jumps from 180 - 280 in a second, then back down to 200 then back up 300. It's all over the place. This kind of unstability can cause these kind of problems.

So im still left to think, what the hell is it, really. Is it my router? I've opened the ports, so it shouldnt be...

Im in the UK, is that the problem? I hope not, cos surely that would mean every EU player is basicly experiencing the same problem?

All and any help is welcomed, as long as it isnt 'update your drivers' or 'try these XtremeG drivers' or 'reformat' or any other suggestion regarding some sort of maintenance tool because this is an entirely new computer, including hard drive. I've posted a similar thread to this, pre-upgraded computer though. I would really appreciate a DEV to actually have their word in it this time too, please. Its becoming unplayable, very unplayable and to be honest i love this game and dont want to have to put it down because of some nasty latency issue.

Here are my specs:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition - Service Pack 2
Motherboard: Nforce 4 Gigabyte Technology GA-K8NS Ultra SKT 939 6.70 nForce drivers.
Graphics Card: GeForce 6800(GS) 256MB Ram PCI-Express 16X - 81.98 Forceware Drivers.

Gameplay Discussion Character Development Agent Uniform! Agent Uniform! Huxley2k7 0 02/04/2006 03:07
  Hi all.

I was wondering if its possible to get a uniform or clothing similar to the Agents?

I've seen the spy ability to change into an Agent, which is pretty neat.

Community Redpill Rescue Choppyness / Lag? Sorry! Choppyness / Lag? Sorry! Huxley2k7 0 01/26/2006 09:52
I really didnt want to resort posting here, but the technical forum has proven pretty useless, not even a sniff of a dev, no reply to my thread which is a pretty serious issue considering my gameplay is pretty stale right now due to the issue. Sorry again!

Well, the title says it all.

I'm new to the Matrix Online and ive only been playing two days. After playing for a while it soon became apparent that the game was jerking / lagging / becoming choppy whenever i begin to run, or look around, or open doors, or initiate a combat sequence. I also have a constant high ping, which i shouldnt getting, im on a 1 Meg Broadband connection. The pings average is 250MS but its never under 200. Its usually between 200 - 400 which is just not right. I am playing on the Recursion server and my location is in the South of England.

I've tried adjusting the options with the defaults, the 'Highest framerate' selected, low ram usage, everything on low, everything on medium, mixed settings, disabled AA, V-Sync disabled, view distance 0. I've tried everything, it still chops whenever i go anywhere, or look around, or when im running to new missions or entering the mission zone. I can have the graphics to the point where my guys face looks like it was done with MS paint and i still get this horrible choppyness. Its not totally unplayable, but it happens every 2-3 seconds whenever im initiating any of the above statements EG: Running along the street or looking around.

I should be able to play this game with no problems, i can run World Of Warcraft on moderate to high settings which is more demanding than MxO in my opinion. Despite the horrible cartoony characters, most of WOW is exterior where as im lagging / chopping during exterior AND interior scenarios on MxO.

I love the gameplay and want this frustrating choppyness and possibly lag fixed, its a great game but im finding it hard to enjoy due to this dilema. If it requires ports, would you please list them here along with a solution (If one exists) to fixing this terrible choppy gameplay.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: Nforce2 400 Ultra. 5.10 Nforce Platform Drivers.
Graphics card: XFX GeForce 6600GT 256MB. (8XAGP) 81.98 Forceware Drivers.
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2000 1.66GHZ.
Ram: 1GIG Ram.
Hard disk: 75GB, 8GB free.
Windows: 5.1 (Build 2600) XP Home Edition.
Service pack: 2.
Power supply: 400 Watt.
Networking: D-LINK Router Di-804.
Internet: NTL 1Meg Broadband.

Thanks in advance, and sorry again!

Community General Discussion Newpill! Newpill! Huxley2k7 0 01/23/2006 14:13
Thats right, the title says it all. I'm a NEWpill currently downloading the huge patch which looks as though its not moving?

Hello all! I've been dying to play Matrix Online recently, i thought it was my duty after playing every other major MMORPG out there EG:

Star Wars Galaxies, World of warcraft (Big mistake), Planetside, Guild Wars. Yeah, you could say im a 3 month wonder, i tend to get bored within the first 3 months of playing. Excluding Planetside, played that for 7 months then decided i couldnt afford the fee anymore, since the expansions started pouring out.

Anywho, a friend of mine decided to ditch his MxO (He wasnt impressed) and said i could have it! Excellent, with 10 days left! That explains this screen name - Aseddon - this is not my choice, for RPG's i go by the name Kelanos Olekaedi's. See my signature for the other names i take on throughout my online gaming career, maybe you know me! Or am i being naive? By the way time card is on its way, 2 months of MxO.

Now everyone who i asked who had either played it, knew someone who played it, or had never played it said ''I think its lame'' or ''My friend says it sucks'' or ''That looks crappy.'' - All the more reason for me to be interested! Why you ask? Because im sick of these high profile kiddy RPG's like WOW, SWG and Guild Wars. I'm a big role-play fan and these games just dont gimme the fix i want. If they did, then it probably slowly deteriarated (SWG for egsample).

There's probably plenty of these posts, sorry if there are, i'm just introducing myself.

There are a few things i'd like to know, i wont bore you with too many questions.
1) Which server is BEST for role-play?
2) Is there anything i should know that concerns everyone on a server-wide basis?
3) Is there a large, sort of, immaturity base with MxO? I figured there would be less compared to the RPG's ive listed above?
4) This is the big one - Would a wise player please inform me of the three factions, for egsample im not entirely sure where their allegiances' lie, what their motives are, their morales etc and how the factions relate to the movies?
5) Anyone interested in taking on an apprentice, id welcome a role-player to show me the ropes, after all, what do i know about the Matrix? I just jacked in!

Sorry for the questions, i just want to make a character that i know will fit me best! Thanks in advance everyone and i hope i enjoy my stay!

Regards,

Kelanos Olekaedis / Kelanos.
