I would think that the best measure of sucess of the movies is best shown by box office revenues (people speaking with their dollars):

matrix = 171mil US and 460 world

reloaded = 281 US and 738 world

revol = 139 US and 424 world

so revo was least sucessful in US and reloaded most same in world-wide figures.

critical reviews are thus; rotten tomatoes and metacritic both had the movies decending in chronological order (matrix best to revol worst)

wiki rules for this type of info!  BTW my fave was the first...by a wide margin...every shot was thought about for years.
