Whether this is or is not still a huge issue or whatever, if the possibility remains then I agree with the reset idea SMILEY

As long as the reset doesnt open up more issues or holes then great, sure it will be a minor inconvenience but if they say they will do it (and they should) then you can make a note of your stats before they do it just so you dont lose anything by doing the reset SMILEY

Can we please have plain slacks for females - like the males have plain black slacks, could we have these also?

Another idea that isnt my own is the ability to assign buffs from different clothing so we can have our own fighting gear and look good doing it - perhaps also colour modification pills so we can have a set of clothing, decompile it and then recompile it with a colour frag? So we can choose the colour as well?

I know the latter is a huge amount of work, but I (and others) are hopeful SMILEY

This isnt for me (as Im an old player) but Ive got a friend who would like to try MXO out to see if he likes it or not.
I cant find where he can get a trial or any kind of buddy key so Im asking here - what would be the best way for a new player (who has the game, but a really really really old key) to trial MXO without having to go for a subscription?

Do buddy keys still work now or would he have to wait until more were issued?

Thats true, I could have looked but unfortunately I didnt because I assumed that the items were like other collector items where you farm them and change them if needed for your gender which then lets you get the right item for your gender.

It is logical that the captains only drop male ones - however I dont think being allowed to swap male for female earpieces and then not being able to either swap them back or trade them for the ssr glasses is right. in that case they should have just not allowed them to be swapped for female earpieces OR they should change item 9 so it needs female earpieces (as do many other collectors).

Ballak: stackable, that would have made this whole process much much easier - why not allow stacks of up to 40? save on inventory and code area space SMILEY

So Ive done the farming, got the 120 bits of gum and got the 10 raeder earpieces.

All good so far - so I swap the male raeder earpieces for female ones (this was before I got the gum) because every other collector you have to swap bits to make sure you get the right gender of item.

So, believing I had to do this - I swap the items for female earpieces and spend a good few days farming the gum in between killing captain raeder to help others get the gear too SMILEY

I come to trade and find I cant.
Why?

Item 9 - SSR Glasses (female) need the 120 sticks of gum but 10 MALE raeder earpieces.
This makes no sense to me at all, it means that male characters can wear their earpieces until they trade, but females have to swap 1 (if they want to wear it) and then cant trade it for the glasses because of the prerequisites.

Maybe Im the first to have this issue - I hope so and I hope this post will stop others having it too SMILEY

Ive submitted a CCR for this to hope that it will get me my glasses SMILEY

Im looking for earpieces OR the new shiny glasses - Im happy to negotiate a fair price, I have 1 earpiece and no gum, so any gum would also be good.

But more importantly, Im looking for some of the nice new shiny level 50 guns, particularly the following:

any other silenced level 50 guns - anything considered

I only have 2 other things to add tho SMILEY

1) Im one of those people who can rarely make events - mostly due to the times in which they are placed. Alot of events are North America friendly times but far less so for Europe. To the people moaning about not getting special items or whatever - bear this in mind... just be thankful that you can GET TO the event in the first place.

Many of us dont have that opportunity - only rarely at best.

2) RECURSION - WE KNOW DRAMA.

Im not asking for help from everyone, but if anyone has any good guides on the basics of it or any good video tutorials or pretty much anything on the subject it would help.

Ive recently found that I quite enjoy messing around with screenshots and photoshop seems to be a widely used piece of software for this.

I must stress, Im new to photoshop and many of the concepts of it - yes I probably should start with a more basic piece of software first, but as photoshop seems to be widely used, Im going on the fact it should also have alot of people who know about it as well.

So, if anyone has any basic tutorials (web-pages with pictures or videos) that cover the basics and perhaps go to intermediate things, it would be great to have those links.

The version of photoshop I have on trial (30 day trial copy) will be Photoshop CS2.

Im sure many of us have pets in our homes.
But Im more interested in hearing about the exotic pets, things like spiders, snakes, scorpions - things like that SMILEY

For example - do emperor scorpions really make 'bad' pets?
They arent fluffy and things like a cat or dog, but how do they compare?

Any pictures of your pets and anything you want to say about them - go for it, Im just keen to learn all about other peoples pets and to know a little about them all - for example, having a pet spider that gets upset when you arent around... all that sort of thing SMILEY

Well I was there for the first phase, it was laggy (for me at least) but it was nice to see so many people and it was nicer to actually see the RSIs behind the names.

I think by the time of the first crash, Id found dracomet, 9mmfu, virrago, moonlite, brewko and walrus.
So many people made finding the devs and CSRs/CSMs difficult but that was all part of the challenge for me.

What was less fun was the crash, the spamming in area and of course, the park npcs wanting a piece of any lowbie who just happened to get a little too close. Level 3 surrounded by Level 9s ftl.

Unfortunately, in true 'murphys law' style - I went to nap at 11PM GMT so I could be awake for the fen/bindi wedding on recursion... of course those who attended knew I wasnt there. Why? My stupid alarm clock decided not to go off at 1AM, but had somehow got itself set for 1PM today.

I was not happy - owned... by an alarm clock.

Alot of this isnt news so much as keeping us informed.

However, swapping cinematics for sentinel? Not a popular move I feel - while I have nothing against the sentinel, the cinematics added to the storyline as well as the sentinel did (when it was updated).

As someone (MXO-Insertion ?) has already said - we have many many talented players here in the community itself, would it be so difficult and so 'bad' to hold a competition which showcases a player (or group of players) and their video-making skill?

You could showcase it as a competition, have a vote on it with the community (yes, this may well cause drama - but it will at least involve members of the community more - perhaps those who havent been able to get fully involved perhaps?) - of course Walrus/Rarebit/SOE would have the final 'say' on this.

You could request the player/players in question sign (much like we all agree to the T&C when we jack in) a document that states that they cant use their possibly fore-knowledge of the story for their own ends.

Of course you may well get people who abuse this - but community players - who would happily do this not for themselves but the community and game in general - wouldnt abuse this as they - like all of us - want to see this game go from strength to strength.

Im sure that this idea is unfeasible and there are reasons why - but I figured Id throw it on the table for others to shoot down or agree with or whatever.

*Where is she? What happened? Who did this?*
All these questions and more were racing through her head as she moved through the city.
She knew the reason why her previous home would be available to rent... it was the only thing she cared about
right now.

But she had to find the answers to her questions, she had to find the truth.
She headed for the Mega City Community Hospital, not the nicest hospital in the city but its the only one residents
of Westview and Richland could afford.

She worked it out in her mind - 'walk in, ask for the records, if they refuse - take the records'.
One problem remained, being dressed in black pin-stripe trousers and a red shirt didn't look terribly 'official',
the blues weren't stupid by any means.

She made a quick call to the operator.

"I need some official looking clothes loaded up down here, something that says 'Government Official' but not
'Health Department' - got that?"
Her operator acknowledged that he understood - while she relayed what she needed, she had slipped into a small nearby alley-way and, after checking for nearby gangs and blues - she ordered the operator to change her outfit.
The change was near instant, but she could never get used to her outfit just 'changing' like that.
Taking the single FM-900 out of her jacket, she checked that it was loaded.

She didnt want to have to use it but she never went anywhere unarmed, better to be safe than sorry.
Holstering the weapon, she walked towards the hospital entrance.

"I'd like to see all files on an Claire Reynolds please, I believe she is a patient at this hospital?" She said in an
authorative, yet enquiring tone.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but patient files aren't something we just hand out, you are going to have to show me some kind of ID."
The receptionist chirped back.
This vexed her a little and she reluctantly produced the ID she had been given along with her outfit.
"Hmm, it checks out ma'am." The receptionist told DarkNyte.
"Now, may I have the files please?" She said, almost irritated in how painfully slow this was all taking.
"I'm afraid not ma'am, you would need to get permission from the local police as the woman in question is part of a criminal matter."

She turned around to walk out and sat in a nearby chair, collecting her thoughts.
Should she just take the files or should she possibly alert law enforcement to her presence?
Either way could get ugly - while she was careful to avoid fighting in the presence of the blues, sometimes she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That last 'wrong time' was when she had just 'interrogated' an exile for intelligence on her target she had been given by Agent Gray. She left the apartment and came under immediate fire from the local police force, mistaking her for a drug-dealer or possibly a gangmember. The police were here for the dealer, not her - but it's not like she could just jump through a window to escape - too high a risk with all the blues nearby.
Instead she fired a few rounds in retaliation and shot through an isolated gas-main, causing an explosion where she lept through the fireball and the wall, running as fast as she could - hoping that no blues saw her.
They didn't see her then... but they saw her before - which was enough for the police force to assume she was in-league with the dealer. Normally agents would have cleaned this up - but with the resources stretched so thin, thanks to the war with Zion and the Intruder, she had to be careful...

(( The story below is something I came up with in the last hour or so... its the first part of a story about my character.
I wont give away anything at this point, but Id like people to read it and tell me what they think of it.
When I have a new part, I will update the thread ))

She didn't know why she was here.
She knew she probably shouldn't even be here - but she was.

Although she had only been awakened for a few years, it might as well have been a lifetime ago for her,
the streets she grew up on, the dull apartment blocks of Rogers Way were still the same, the gangs still ran
the streets here. Things were exactly as she remembered, but different as well.

The last time she was here, was to tell her mother that she was going to meet a few friends after work but would
come around and see her later in the week. Only... she wasn't going to meet a few friends after work.
Fate had other plans for her - 2 hours and a red-pill later, she was supposedly 'free' from a prison she never knew
existed.

The real question - was why was she back here now? She wasn't on any kind of mission or official business and it's
common knowledge that redpills aren't meant to visit people they knew as bluepills... but she didn't care about that right now. Guidelines, regulations, rules - screw it all. She had to know the truth.

Walking across from the Northwest area of Rogers Way, she entered the apartment block she knew previously as home. The stench of mould, urine and decay filled the air.
Making her way slowly towards the only working elevator in the building, she hit the button for floor 14.
Slowly, noisily - the elevator made it's way to the floor she requested. The smell and state of the elevator itself
was interesting; blood, urine, various other stains she didn't recognise all melded together making the elevator seem more used than it really was - most people took the stairs for the very reason that elevators were often used as bathrooms.

Arriving at floor 14, she walked down a narrow hallway, past several doors until she approached one in particular.
Removing her sunglasses and putting them in her shirt pocket, she ran her fingers down the door-frame.
The dent in the door from the time her father was seriously ill... the medics nearly smashed the door open with the
stretcher... the mark was still there on that door - just as it was on her.

She started to think back - her father, so ill at the time - seemingly so little they could do for him, if only they
knew what she now knows... they could have saved him.

Shaking her head, she cleared the visions from her mind, her eyes darting to the sign on the door itself.
'Apartment available for Rent - contact the landlord for details. (555) 2517-214'.

She knew in her heart what this meant, there was little doubt - but she still had to be sure that what she felt was
true.

She left the apartment building - heading back into the depths of Rogers Way...

How 'seriously' do you play your in-game characters?
Is there a definite line between 1 who may be Mech and 1 who may be Merv or is it somewhat blended (meaning while they are different orgs and you keep them seperate, their personality is similar)?

How would you handle the following situation IC?

Your character is Zion and has openly opposed EPN tactics for some considerable time, with the lack of the truce and Zions willingness to work with EPN, you find yourself wondering why you opposed EPN tactics for such a long time.

You have 'softened' to them, but still dont like them.
For various reasons you have been debating/toying with the idea of joining EPN as their philosophy seems closer to your own than Zion.

How would you handle this IC?
Would you simply u-turn, join EPN and disregard previous RP statements or would you subtly move yourself into an RP position that allowed you to join EPN and still keep your character RP fluid?

If you wish, you can substitute Zion/EPN for Mech/Cyph or whatever.
This is a straight forward question - Id rather it didnt spiral out of control and turn into an outright flame-fest.

Im simply curious about how other people RP their characters in game - this whole thread should be taken as entirely OOC - as you would be talking ABOUT your character, not AS your character SMILEY<img src=

I've been debating whether to post in this thread or not - I've got a right to voice my opinion - so here it goes.
Taking this example of liasons 'theoretically' being able to exclude people from participating in part of a game, a game that has a paid subscription service is similar to this:

Car Salesman: Hi, I don't like the look of you, and just because of that, I won't sell you the car you want in the colour you want, but instead I will sell you the car you want in another colour and then... you can pay me to have it re-sprayed.

Now this sort of stuff MAY happen out there somewhere, in the dark depths of the world - but in reality, you would be hard pushed to find this kind of attitude or behaviour.

So, with that in mind - whilst both sides have valid arguements and points made - I'm inclined to say that if the liasons decide to include player RP in whether a player (or group of players) can participate in an event, then this should be applied to ALL liasons and ALL players OR no-one at all.

Is it right to exclude one group of people from an event because their views differ from what the mainstream is?
In my opinion - No. Everyone should have equal chance to participate in an event (assuming you can make it of course) regardless of their RP or personal viewpoints.

I will however argue that if you participate in an event or meeting, it's a privilege and whether you agree or not with what is being said, you should give the liason (and each other) the respect they deserve.
If you want to state your opinion, do so in a clear and precise way - people are more likely to listen to you and at least try to understand what you have to say.

I apologise to anyone if my views offend or upset anyone - it's not my intention, I just wanted to add my opinion to this... debate.
