I've never personally attempted it. But, I've heard it working if you hook up a wired Xbox360 controller up to your system and connect the actual headset through the controller as you normally would. As for whether it's straight plug and play or you need to download drivers from Microsoft, I'm not quite sure there.

There's no denying that Vista and Planetside have no love for eachother. But we can still take a look at things if you can post your DXDIAG and MSINFO files here! You can also send a PM my way any time if you would like to get my attention quickly - it normally gives me a quick E-Mail *ping!*.

Indeed. The problem has definitely not been ignored - in fact, there are many discusssions that go on for that very subject. Regrettably, I can't go into any detail as to what is discussed or decided upon until it's made public by the appropriate folks within. I personally love the game as well and can understand how irritating such situations can be. So for now, we can still but a sock in any attempts whenever noticed. If you feel that a GM isn't around and would like a situation to be checked into - By all means, PM me with your situation and I'll be happy to help.

Oh of course! I wouldn't expect it any other way. If anyone here has any issues they believe I should be aware of ASAP. Send a PM may way! It will give me a small E-Mail 'ping' so I can take a look.

My guess would be that this sort of situation had GM involvement from the start. But yes, that's only a guess unless I knew more about that whole case.

That's unfortunate but true - there isn't a log that actually shows how many you gained or had accumulated over any period of time.

There is currently an issue with our international billing system that was not resubscribing players who had used Global Collect to pay for their account for the month of January. This is a known issue, and a fix for this should be implemented within the next 24 hours. However, if you currently use our international billing system and require immediate assistance with resolving this issue, please contact the Technical and Billing Support department, and a Technical Support representative will assist you.

Manitou420 : For the purposes of researching this a bit further, could you post your DxDiag and MSInfo information so I can check that sort of information out and show a specialist here. I'd like to at least see if there is a similarity in software/hardware for the people having this issue in an effort to pinpoint the culprit.
You can post the information on this thread. But, making a new thread would also work so that information can be easier checked.
To anyone else also experiencing major FPS problems (and your computer specs warrant speedy performance), please do the same on a new thread as well. The more information I can gather on the subject, the better.
For instructions on how to obtain said DxDiag and MSInfo information - instructions are here.

While that's certainly odd that it worked just with a RAM upgrade, I'm glad to hear you're up and running. Playing release version Planetside on a 512 stick.. painful memories.

Right thumbstick is the "directional hat", which I know some sticks have, but PS doesn't seem to like it. Fair number of other things I've tried don't either. Right and left triggers are Z-axis. Can't remember which is plus and which is minus. PS also doesn't seem to like this. X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter used it as throttle controls, with no way for me to adjust it. That game requires a controller of some sort though. Edit: There are no ways to tweak anything with the Microsoft interface software. All it does is provide a simple screen that shows if a controller is connected and an option to check for updates.
Thanks for keeping us informed on what you've tried, Dahak.

I can see if a Dev can check that information, but I'm just making sure that the way you're setting up is how I normally have folks in Live Chat get it fixed. You're clearly familiar with the compatibility mode process. So if you can run through that and set the Station Launcher shortcut to Windows 2000, please do so. Once that is done, you'll need to head to the actual Planetside Directory and find the only actual file in that folder named Planetside. With that file, set the compatibility mode on it to Windows 95. Now, with both the Launcher and the actual game file set to their respective compatibilities, try running the game again. Let me know if there's any change.

True. This far into Planetside's development cycle, it likely won't have any major strides in getting along with Vista in the future. But, I do have a lot of experience with Vista's inner workings. Hopefully I can help out some folks in these boards that are having trouble.
