One of my fav peeves is the "No Good Game" player. The poor sport that just leaves without a word.

First CC Bug!

The selection tab for what you WANT in trade is blank. No ships appear for any expansions....

- When signing up, do we get to choose the expansion our packs come from?
- Is there a period of time allowed to trade between participants?
- How much time is allowed to create a fleet once the packs are opened?
- What is the prize structure? Same as "normal" tournaments?
- Will there be Sealed Standard as well as Sealed Deathmatch flavors of tourney play?

(thanks to Targellian for sparking the idea)

- You need a Registration pack to trade cards, and enter tourneys
- If you buy cards without a Reg Pack, you can still use them, but not be able to trade them.
- You CAN'T get cards from other players until you buy the Reg pack
- You can play Practice Games without a Reg Pack
- To buy things, you need to go to the SOE Store. Click the Skull icon in the upper right.
- You need a credit card to buy at the store.
- To use crews that allow you to use 5 more pts in your fleet, make your fleet of the std pts. When the game starts, you then add 5 pts.

There was no MxO fan activity at Fan Faire?

In the General forum and in the Tourney forum, the last posts seem to reset their NEW flag.

I was in the fog.
I used Hidden Cove to move to an island.
When I moved, it said "I escape from the fog" and moved me back to the fog bank!

I was firing on a derelict Acorazado (or any ship that needs two hits to remove a mast)
One hit was not enough to sink it. It needed 2 hits to sink even though it wasn't 'removing a mast'

Had an oarsman on a sub and Davy on a derelict ship. I could not copy my own crew. BAH!

or can players spawn them like 'normal' tourneys?

Had explored an island and swapped a crew onto the island to grab a coin.
Next turn, I changed my mind and wanted to get my crew back so I explored it again.

Could not remove the coin and put the crew back onto the boat

The card text seems to say that you CAN unload it. It infers that you have the choice not to when you dock at your home island but I can't figure out how to drop it off...

Six Frigates: The Epic History of the Founding of the U.S. Navy by Ian Toll

This is a fine book packed with lots of detail about the early days of the US Navy. It covers the Revolutionary War through the War of 1812 roughly with a decent amount of behind the scenes dealings at the start of the US Navy's history. It traces the history of the original six frigates, the Constitution, Constellation, Congress, President, United States and the Chesapeake.

Very good back story for when Barbary Coast comes out.

Opponent had 2 ships near each other. 1 had plague.

I docked at a Mysterious Island and got the result that allows me to move one of his ships so I move the plague ship into the other ship. The "ram" icon was displayed and the crunch noise was heard but Plague did not transfer ships.

How long must this madness go on?

Please Just Wipe the Ptrades already! It takes 20 seconds to load all the dead and invalid trades!

Seriously, how come he makes his presence known at the beginning of the game rather than at his first activation? I understand Helmsman and Master Bianco etc as it changes a visible aspect of the ship (Speed/Cargo Capacity etc) but his effect only happens when he strikes an enemy ship, much like Capt Jack Hawkins who remains hidden until used.

On turn 2, my Pandora's Box hauling Alquimista with a coin and a Sunken treasure on it docked. The Pandora's Box remained on board even after everything was unloaded. The ship had plague on it earlier but one of my ships bearing medical supplies offloaded the disease.

Was playing a 3-player standard format match

My ship docked and explored an island that had a Pandora's Box on it.

I knew I was going to get screwed badly by what the others put in the box and all I needed was the coins from the island so I played Kharmic Idol. It removed a bunch of stuff from play including the Pandora's Box I just opened.

And now the problem:
During the placement of unique treasures into the box, 1 Player went AFTER me. I had already removed the box from play but his treasure (Plague) was still placed on my ship. Is this as designed?

Had an undamaged Mercury get hit by a ship with De Silva on it (Eliminate 1 crew on hit)

Mercury has the ability "Ignore the first hit each turn as long as it has all masts/pieces.

Shouldn't DeSilva's hit be ignored? It did not do damage as normal but it did eliminate a crew.

Had a 4 player game going and one player dropped.
A player got to an island and was rewarded(?) with Pandoras Box. (Each player must put a treasure into the box)
Looks like we were waiting for the dropped player as no one had the option to put treasure into the box on their screen

Just in case someone HASN'T seen this...

When choosing a "Mysterious Islands" gametype, the word Mysterious is misspelled in the lobby

I present the above photos of what I believe is the largest gathering of Pirates Online players that met THROUGH Pirates Online.

The_Sword_Lord, Capn_Elvis and myself got together with our significant others (and offspring) for some good BBQ at Swordy's Stronghold. Thanks to Elvis and Swordy's musically talented neighbors we had some great tunes to socialize by. Sadly, I had to get back to Schloss Weasel to put the baby to bed. I am regretting not coming back after that task was done.

Needless to say, a Great time was had by all...
It is truly great putting faces to the handles online.

Had the East wind move manually (no event) to a wild island.
The ship ability states that after looking at treasure, you can choose to swap a treasure on the current island with another at another island.

This should happen AFTER you see the treasure but the option to swap or not comes up BEFORE looking at the treasure. Once you choose to swap THEN you get to see what you can swap. This can ruin your day...

Had a sub (USS Mercury) with Osvaldo Celemente on board (gives broadsides ability)

It looked like every time he hit(possibly when ramming) it crashed my game to the desktop. I think it also crashed the others in the game as well.

Used Hidden Cove to move a pinned ship away from another ship.
Successfully moved the undamaged ship to a nearby island.
The ship stayed in a Pinned and Docked state with only the Explore option available.
Using the Explore action did not clear this state, nor did it clear on the following turns...

How about this for a wacky idea?

Any given SOE sponsored tournament can have your choice of 5D$ or 10D$ doubloon entry.
- If you choose to pay 5D$, you get no Physical Card(tm) and it is like it used to be.
- If you pay 10D$, you get the Card option as currently implemented.

That way those that want the card, can get it and those that want to stay 'virtual' can do so and not get bankrupted...

Settling in to play Pirates on Fathers Day after singing your son to sleep with "Fair Spanish Ladies"

Activated the Hidden Cove event.
Used the event to move and dock a ship with an explorer to an unexplored island
Used the SHIP'S movement to move out and then re-dock

Explorer ability did NOT kick in. Explorer says "This ship may dock and explore a Wild Island with the same move action" so it definite,y SHOULD have kicked in.

To all of us dad's out there, way to go. Keep breeding gamers!

Hey SOE, Now how about a free LE if you can prove paternity? lol

... for the SOE rep running Sunday's replacement tournament to tell the people in the lobby that LEs were being given to registered players. This would have secured at least a handful of addl players, myself included. I was there as the tourney started and whoever was in charge made no mention.... I had no interest in a regular tournament but if I knew that there was prize support, I would have thrown my hat in the ring...
