I was looking at the Sahara today. It's certainly cheaper and is only one monorail stop away, but it looks a little... downscale. Anything I should look out for, or would you recommend it?

And I ask that you give a definitive reply to Kela's question, not something vague and dismissive like 'Someone tried to confuse us with numbers' or 'But the figures can be interpreted many ways'.
Kela made it very clear.

IMO it is ludicris to total up the votes of 2 VERY differant cities and saying Oh I guess people what East Coast. Especally when you take the first poll into consiteration(see my post here for more info on that). I am willing to bet atleast a % of people voted for Orlando because Disneyworld is thier and NOT because it is on the East Coast, as such those people Possably would not of voted or possable would have voted for Vegas over Washinton DC if DC was the only option other then Vegas. The same holds true for DC, there are lots of things to do in DC that would have caused people to favor DC over say Vegas or Orlando but if DC was not an option who's to say that they would not have choisen Vegas over Orlando(especally when you consiter Vegas got more votes when DC was not an option, then it did when it was). If you are going to total anything then it needs to be the two polls and if you do Vegas wins against the next closest city Orlando @ 32% of the total vote vs Vegas and it's 46% of the total vote. Exactly!
It's all very well having an East coast Fan Faire (to be honest I don't mind which coast it's on, as I'm coming from the UK so it doesn't make much difference), but if you do have one there, do not have it because you tallied the votes of cities on different coasts.
People were not voting based on which coast the city was! They were not voting East coast vs. West coast! They were voting Orlando vs. Vegas vs. Washington.

Really? the way I read that is that 366 people want to goto DC in June, 337 people want to goto Orlando in June, and 646 people want to goto Vegas in September. It has NOTHING to do with what coast it is on Finally! Someone else who gets it.

If the poll ends and the east side combined is more then Vegas has then you will know that east woulda won if they were not split into 2. That's simply not true. You're still assuming everyone who's voted for Vegas voted because it was on (or near... whatever) the West coast.
They could have voted because:
- They wanted to see Vegas; - They have friends near Vegas they'd like to see, or other activities in the area at the same time; - The Vegas date was better for them; - ...
A lot of people will have voted for Vegas for their own reasons. So if you had another West coast location in the poll there is no guarantee that half of Vegas' votes would have gone elsewhere.

Say what you want about conspiracy theory but the way the poll is set up obviously favors Vegas. Like we've said. Make 2 west (I'm considering Vegas west because west can drive to it) vs 2 east and Vegas would'nt have 600+ votes atm. Current vote when I post this: East coast combined: 677 Vegas: 606 East coast is still winning but we have to vote in 2 area's. So yes it is not fair for the east coasters and again its because SoE wants FF in Vegas. The poll is just to allow them to act like we have a choice and nothing else. I bet if either east coast site were to jump ahead the poll would somehow be hacked and reset. Add a Cali location or a Washington location and Vegas votes would split in half. Look at all the people who live in Cali who voted for Vegas because they can drive. You're assuming everyone's voting based purely on which coast a place is on. I'm voting for the coast furthest away from me, because I happen to want to go to a particular city; I don't care about the coast.
And I'm sure at least 71 people (the difference between the coasts' respective votes) are voting for the same reason.

Cheers. So you mean the rates for the hotel rooms? Surely the tickets don't cost us $115 a night.

Right, I'm trying to work out how the pricing is meant to work for this, so any help would be appreciated.
From what I can gather from last year's site, the main Fan Faire ticket (for all days) is about $90. Which means the prices in the poll are the rates-per-night for the hotels in those places, right? (At the discounted rate, of course.) Which in turn means that the listed prices don't really mean much 'cos we could just find a cheaper hotel elsewhere in the city.
But even then, the hotels confuse me. Let's assume that Las Vegas wins the poll and SOE picks the Rio again. Their rooms are listed as $115 per night in the poll, but all their rooms are doubles, or so it seems. So does that in fact mean that the price per night per person is actually half that? (Assuming everyone manages to pair up.) Or is it really $115 per person per night, and the rooms therefore cost $230 in real terms?

Ok so my pricing may be a bit out, but that is the exchange rate at the moment, who's to say what it will be in june-september. But even saying that nothing will ever come to Europe as we are second class to all the US people, as shown in the service we get with everything!!
You will proberbly find its cheaper for you to come to Europe than go to the other side of the states, yes you may have to get visa's and such but so do we!!
To even apply for a passport over in the UK it cost £50 so that on top of all the surcharges and stuff, you wont find any Run of the mill EU's going to these places, so they lose revenue that way.
The USD-GBP exchange rate has been about 0.5 for years, so it won't be any different in June-September.
And run-of-the-mill Euros will be going. Not many, no, but not so few that it truncates SOE's profits from Fan Faire.

In-game name: Procurator (Prock-your-ate-or)
Game: The Matrix Online
What I love:
If I had to pick one thing, it'd be our involvement with the story. We're not just doing our own thing in a scripted setting; we're really in the thick of things, taking part and helping to shape events. Sure, the grand plot is mapped out, but exactly how it goes down is up to us.
From watching events unfold, achieving the main goal (be it killing someone, gathering data or defending a base) and winning the prize, to being recognised by the main characters and obtaining a place in Matrix history for all to see... It's all possible.

Could you reword LESIG question 5 to get rid of the suggestion of disbanding LESIG. We'd love an extra full-time staff member to work alongside Rarebit, but that shouldn't mean getting rid of LESIG. The orgs that do have active liaisons love them, and would hate to see them go.
The Station Launcher question is unnecessary. The current version apparently opens the MxO launcher at the character select stage, so no: we aren't losing the MxO launcher.
The question 'About our new CRM' could perhaps do with a little fiddling. We don't want to imply that Virrago is doomed to follow Raijinn's footsteps.

That's true. What NightTrace said there wasn't excessively negative. However, I'll ask that you all keep a civil tongue. Not because 'I don't want to hurt their feelings' but because I want to keep this thread open and visible, so people can see it. The last thing we need is another vanishing thread.

I have been disappointed in some things Raijinn has done, however, I've found that he will at least talk as long as you are polite and courteous. Unfortunately, saying DO YOUR JOB with courteous words around it doesn't help. People have said he doesn't respond to PM's, however I haven't had trouble getting him to do so.
The vast majority of things that were said in the old thread ('The Time Has Come' were polite and courteous. It's only after continued neglect that words became harsher. It's taken him weeks to reply, and when he finally did it was distressingly unhelpful.
As for PMs, I haven't received replies from him either, and I wasn't (until my recent outspokenness) on his bad side. Unless he took my comments about SOE's Web Presence team to heart, and I can't see why he should have.
I wish it were a matter of him responding to people who aren't completely annoying, but it's not. He's inactive on the issues that matter - fact.

Same here. I've been ranting and raving about the pitiful behaviour on the Web Team's part (all with good arguments - I'm a Web developer myself) for weeks over on the MxO forums. And yet we're still here. Come on kids, get a grip. Act like the professionals you're supposed to be.
