The Matrix Online is having its third birthday and we want you to help us celebrate the first chance MMO players around the world had the opportunity to 'jack in' online!
We're throwing an in-game event and party this year...as well as offering up some other goodies. It's all just waiting for you to partake in, so read on and make sure that you don't miss out on all the excitement!
The Smith Virus Returns!

It's true - in honor of the game's three year anniversary, the hugely popular 'Smith Virus' will return to The Matrix Online from March 20th until April 3rd. Remember last year when the Oracle said that it was safe to say we had not seen the last of Agent Smith? Well, the Oracle never lies! It appears that Smith's insidious viral code has found a way to free itself and circulate once again...
Of course, even while in hiding, The Oracle is doing everything possible to help contain the virus by spreading her team of "Smith Virologists" to key city monuments for you to contact. All available operatives are asked to consult with a Smith Virologist to aid in the fight against this legendary enemy before it destroys the Matrix.
This year's Matrix Online Anniversary Event is not without its goodies. Operatives who successfully fight the virus will be able to use their 'Smith fragments' to stick it to "The Man" by purchasing an array of twelve new subversive T-shirts. Clothing from last year's anniversary event will also be available for your purchasing pleasure. But that's not all... The Oracle has done her part to aid the cause by cooking up tasty treats, including a brand new goody offering temporary protection against infection from Smith Virus attacks.
Party Like It's 1999!
To help the celebration along even more, come party with us in game on Friday, March 21st from 3PM - 5PM PDT on the Syntax server in Camon Heights Park. Rarebit, Walrus, Virrago, Moonlite, Brewko, Dracomet, and 9mmfu will be in attendance to chat, wish everyone a very happy anniversary and hand out delicious cookies.
Radio fansite RMC:Terminal will get everyone in a celebratory mood by taking requests and providing jamming tunes suitable for the occasion.
