Weird one. Was playing a spanish fleet. Had a captain, alarico castro, helmsman, explorer and Amore on the Santa columba. At the start of turn 1, got an extra turn from Castro and my captain got revealed.
And then the game crashed hard.

Sorry, no match number.... " />
Had a two ship 40-pt Spanish fleet with Contessa Anita Amore on the LE Virtual Wind and a Silver Explorer on an Allquimista. During the setup, I was able to buy other crew but my second Silver Explorer was unable to be purchased (And yes, I have 2 in my inventory). It did not even show up as buyable....\
After checking the fleet builder, I put the 2nd Silver explorer on a ship abnd it came up as an invalid fleet saying "you may only have one silver explorer in your fleet."
This is NOT listed in the card text....

I thought for SURE that SOE would come through with Santa to put on my Sleigh this holiday season. I mean, they ARE Holiday promotion cards, yes?
I thought for SURE that a little spreading of holiday cheer would be waiting for me when I logged on this season.
Nope.
We got coal. The holiday giveaway was a takeaway. Those tournies did not give back to the community but took from it instead. 5 D$ per player per tourney played. The cost of the prize was made back by SOE after =2= 8-player tournies.
Well, Old Man Potter is laughing and laughing this season for sure.

That's it for me. I'm fed up. I'm disgruntled. I am throwing in the towel.
I would put this in the trading forum but it isn't strictly a trading post.
With the way the LEs are distributed in OE, it is no longer fun trying to get the complete sets including LEs. Fitz, My hat's off to you when you get yours as you are WAY closer to completion than I am. I wish I had the one(s) you need as I would love to help you out.
I have tried trading, /ptrading and begging. I am not going to overpay for every single LE I need. I used to only have to overpay for that last elusive LE. But now there are =6= different classes of LEs in Oceans Edge!!
- The Mega LEs(Dragons/Windcatchers etc)
- The Deluxe LEs(Silver Explorers/'common' ships and crew made LE)
- The Normal Booster-Box LEs (that you get with the $65 boxes)
- The Starter Box-Topper LEs
- The Promotional LEs (Zeus/Denver/Blackheart)
- The Tourney awarded LEs
Give me a break. I am DONE.

So,
The OE Davy says that with a roll of a '6' you can give an enemy ship an action. It does not say ONLY a move action but that is how it is implemented. Why can't it give an enemy ship a shoot action? The wording seems to indicate that you should.

Other online games tend to have some sort of end of year, customer appreciation thing going...
Just wondering....

Come round ye hearties and listen to me I'll tell ye of powder smoke upon a stiff breeze I'll tell ye of booty and sea chests to fill Such stories I'll tell ye, of the Sea Weasels Guild
'Twas back in aught-seven when first they was formed To roam the green sea foam from dusk until dawn Their cause was known to many each season But others were left out of the Weasels' real reason
See, there was many a pirate and landsman and scrub Who, when seeing a sailor alone in the pub, Would hearken and hoot and accost the poor tar And send invites to strangers as they sat at the bar
So joining the Sea Weasels is one sure way Of keeping rude strangers away and at bay No offers to join in some stranger's swill Will come 'cross your wake when you're in Weaselboy's Guild...
--------- Note: How come color/font formatting doesn't work???? :'(

Over the past couple of weeks, I have joined games only to find that my tweaked fleet, though not as mean spirited as some, was completely outsailing my opponents. This was clearly a new player that was just learning the ropes. Had I known, I owuld not have taken one of my "Competition Level" fleets but rather one that was less optimized and more fun.
So, New Players. PLEASE, when making a game, advertise that you are just starting out. Change the title to say "New Player..." We veterans will most assuredly play you and will field an appropriate fleet. The game is no fun if you are soundly thrashed. We know this and are here to help you have fun.
Just let us know!

I really like the idea of them. Specialized and Rare crew that perform a unique function.
But. Let's compare their functionality.
A regular explorer costs 1 pt, takes up 1 space and is generally left on the island he explores, thereby freeing up 1 cargo space.
Silver Explorer costs 3 pts, takes up 1 space but must remain onboard to get the +1 Doubloon bonus effect if and only if there is a special silver treasure coin on the island.
It seems like it is better to spend 3 points on an explorer and Genny Gallows/Maurice Aristide and get a +2 Doubloon bonus effect rather than the +1 the Silver Explorer gives.
Like I said, I like to concept, but the execution is falls a little short.

I believe it was Captn_Daryl (correct me if I am wrong) that suggested this last night.
New players that are registered for less than 90 days and players in Trial mode should have their icon as a Green Skull. This will allow the veterans entering a game with them to maybe soft pedal a bit and not take their Multi-Titan/Multi-Harbinger fleet into battle against them. I have been counseling new players that they should put NEW PLAYER in the title of any game that they start but the green-skull is an elegant solution.
Coupled with this might be the option to flag games as newbie games on creation to make it easy and obvious for new players to identify games where they are not pretty much guaranteed to be slaughtered. This would facilitate some of the veterans holding 'classes' for new players, maybe showcasing certain tactics or just using a less than uber-tweaked fleet to allow the new players a chance.
(Ideas like this spring up all the time in private beta testing....)

So why does a Silver Explorer reveal itself at the beginning of the game? It isn't using any of its abilities. Sounds like they are afflicted with Kian Ng's Syndrome... " />

In all games, if I use my mouse wheel to zoom out (in windowed mode) it gets to a point where my view is rotated 180 degrees and the islands get fuzzy. (New Islands) This happens on two different machines.

Jade was in play and delivered a doubloon worth 5 to opponents home island. It was there as 10Doubloons Opponent then played Kharmic Idol and removed all UTs from play. This removed the jade as well as the doubled coin. This should not have happened as the act of doubling the coin is a one time effect and not a persistent effect.

First, I had a Spanish Silver Explorer on the Alquimista. When the game loaded, this error was thrown.
--------------------------- Pirates - 0.1.0 --------------------------- Exception: ImagesetManager::getImageset - No Imageset named '`æ°Lò& Ø"' is present in the system.
--------------------------- OK ---------------------------
But the game continued normally, though the icon for the Explorer was not shown on my ship. It was there but it looked like a blank cargo slot.

FAQ (thanks to Targellian for sparking the idea)
- You need a Registration pack to trade cards, and enter tourneys - If you buy cards without a Reg Pack, you can still use them, but not be able to trade them. - You CAN'T get cards from other players until you buy the Reg pack - You can play Practice Games without a Reg Pack - To buy things, you need to go to the SOE Store. Click the Skull icon in the upper right. - You need a credit card to buy at the store. - To use crews that allow you to use 5 more pts in your fleet, make your fleet of the std pts. When the game starts, you then add 5 pts. - To redeem a code you may have gotten, type /redeem in the chat box - The difference between the game types are: Deathmatch - Last fleet floating. (Derelicts don't count as floating. " /> ) Standard - Whoever has the most gold wins Guns and Gold - Who ever gets the winning amount of gold first or Last fleet floating Battlelines - Whoever has the most gold wins, all ships must be the same nationality - The prize format in most tournaments are: 1st Place: LE+Packs 2nd Place: LE+Packs 3rd through next to last: A Pack Last Place: NOTHING
