Cool. One of my great joys in this game is fleet design, perhaps even more so than PLAYING.

For the common ships you want, try posting individual /ptrades for them. There are a lot of us veterans who have extra stock and if we happen to have a few copies of a common ship, we tend to be generous. It is important to put them up as separate trades as we may not have ALL of them and putting them up in one big trade will yield worse results. Besides, it looks obnoxious. " />

I had the pleasure of playing Mermaids on a well stocked Baochuan. It was moving slower than the rest of the fleet to begin with and to tie it down for 8 turns was glorious. Running my 2-mast fireship in and starting it on fire was spectacular.

Weird. there was a topic on this but it seems our support archives only go back to October. I even had a whole scenario written out about it.

Weird one. Was playing a spanish fleet. Had a captain, alarico castro, helmsman, explorer and Amore on the Santa columba. At the start of turn 1, got an extra turn from Castro and my captain got revealed.

And then the game crashed hard.

An offline component would be so awesome I am sitting here hugging myself at the idea of it. If they included something so simple as a play-yourself option, ie it switches from one side to the other allowing you to hotseat, I would have an embolism of joy.

I wish I could remember when it was that playing a DM fleet in a Gold Game became the thing to do. It seemed to happen all of a sudden in the SCS era. Not sure though.

I specify the above threadbomb is for a certain core of individuals who need to come back to the true course of this discourse.

The main point here is that having a "vote" was well intentioned but not quite thought out. Leaving it up to a popular vote was OF COURSE going to result in Star Wars Galaxies being the "Winner." I would rather have seen them schedule out the next few Fridays and say "Hey, the people who run the game are are going to be playing on these days. Come kick em in the scuppers!" That would have been fairer.

And a side note to Isabella...
Even though Strack is an odious example of all things evil, very few people in this game have subjected themselves to as many ulcers and frustrations as him. We core of "elitists" have been playing for a long while and what you see as "negativity" is the frustration we all feel at seeing an otherwise great game suffer. Read through the 100+ posts of his here on this board as well as the rest of the Elitists(tm) and you will see PLENTY of constructive ideas and a resounding silence from the administration.

At the risk of sounding Strack-like(HATE that guy... ), that "Vote for Pirates thing" is kinda of insulting.

I went and put my vote in and it didn't even give me a 1% compared to the 1000+ people that voted for Star Wars Galaxies. It's kind of like running for president under the Green Party here in the US. You know you don't have a chance against either the Republican or the Democratic party so you have to wonder if it is worth the effort.

We will NEVER see SOE Staff playing this game for the sake of playing. I would like to see it and I hope I get proven wrong but if we can't get forum posts answered that would take =5= minutes of their time, you think they are going to play a game that might take =20=?

I am wondering if it is because the Silver Explorers are LEs that they consider them unique. Do NOT get me started on the subject of Silver Explorers and the other commons being LEs in this set. It may get ugly.... :/

Had a two ship 40-pt Spanish fleet with Contessa Anita Amore on the LE Virtual Wind and a Silver Explorer on an Allquimista.
During the setup, I was able to buy other crew but my second Silver Explorer was unable to be purchased (And yes, I have 2 in my inventory). It did not even show up as buyable....\

After checking the fleet builder, I put the 2nd Silver explorer on a ship abnd it came up as an invalid fleet saying "you may only have one silver explorer in your fleet."

This is NOT listed in the card text....

I expect variations of the following:

The ship carrying a marine now has to be hit twice to remove a mast
The ship carrying a marine has all its guns changed to 2s
The island a marine is on can now move.
I have NO idea what to expect with a Titan carrying a marine over an island...

I have been volunteering to playtest here since I started playing the online game.

If I say so myself, my resume for testing games, both online and analog, is impressive.

I am NOT holding my breath.

You will find several cases of that. Like there is a Virtuous Wind that is Jade Rebellion and a Virtuous Wind that is Spanish. There are also LE versions of the same ship, slightly different. There are also the same ship with the same nationlity across different sets. (There is an Acorazdo in Spanish Main as well as Oceans Edge)

As far as the game is concerned, they are different ships and can be in the same fleet. This is the same way it works with crew that are the same name but in different sets. There is a whole herd of Calico Cats and a gang of Captain Blackhearts and Jack Hawkins'

43 tourneys x 5 D$(doubloons) per tourney entry fee = D$ 215

Seeing as a booster box is $65(USD OR Doubloons), things might have worked out cheaper had you put up a ptrade of your doubloons for a booster box.
