Decorate w/ stuff that has no names.

So if someone enters and has "all object names" on..,

they:

  1. wont get booted to their desktop
  2. have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for it all to load. and when it does finally load.., get the sudden-instant migraine from all the text on the screen.

For best results:

Use spontaneous creativity... if you cant find any, an ice cold six-pack usual does the job for me.

I see a lot of people craft items with the name "." (a period without the quotes).  You can actually make items with a blank name if you use this trick:

Open notepad and enter three blank lines and then "xxxx" or whatever you want.  Copy and paste that into the name of the item when crafting and the item will have no name!

Easier way to do this... just do two spaces. Will look like no name, and is good for self-decoration. Probably shouldn't do it for sales, though; you want it to show up SMILEY!

For moving objects

I made macros that do the following

/move up 50

/move down 50

/rotate yaw 45

/rotate yaw -45

/move forward 1

/move forward 50

/move back 1

/move back 50

/rotate pitch 45

/rotate pitch -45

/rotate roll 45

/rotate roll -45

made these as individual macros then went into the options/keymap/custom and binded them all to my F keys on my crafter. makes decorating 10 times faster.

Ever wondered how some players are able to line up objects perfectly straight and with no clipping?

1. Drop the objects in the approximate location.

2. Sit in a chair and use the /move commands on each object. This will move them in the same direction and an equal amount.

3. Rotate the chair to move objects in other directions.

Thats prob the most useful decorating tip I've been shown.

If you have the Force Shui collection, you can pitch and roll your items to create more creative creations.

Useful movement macros:

/rotate copy
/move copy location
/move copy height

I've created 18 macros that helps me with decorating. Three each for forward, back, left, right, up & down. With the values 1, 10 and 100. I then binded these macros to the numeric pad on my keyboard, together with Ctrl & Shift.

To move an item with the value of 1, I hold down Shift+(number of choice). The value of 10 is binded to the Ctrl key, and 100 is binded to Ctrl+Shift.

When I want to craft items with no name (just a blank space), I just hold down Alt while I press 0160 on the numeric pad. The same way you create upside down question marks SMILEY Alt+0191 = ¿

Something I need to adress is not to trust the /savedecorationlayout stuff too much.

Before

After

But other than that, these new commands were a huge help when moving 1000+ items from one house to another.

What also works for blanking names is using the crtl+backspace in the name box, which inputs a square.  Its invisible outside of your inventory.

Also, things with under 3 or 4 spaces tend to revert to default names after a while due to some odd bug
