*As was implied by the latest issue of the Sentinel, at approximately 8:00pm Megacity time (PST) Morpheus appeared at Club Messiah in Chelsea downtown. Many of us had gathered hours before to await his appearance. We were granted with a long speech, a view of Neo's incomplete RSI and a short question and answer period. Below is the transcript from this meeting. Screenshots will also be posted in the story line gallery.*
Morpheus: Hear me! It is time to demand the return of our savior! It is time for truth. The Machines insult us daily. They hold The One's remains for no reason they will reveal. He longs home, in Zion. Especially if he is alive. Yes, alive. All we have are pictures. Pixels. Digital data. The same stuff that makes up the falsehood we see around us, and feel under our feet. Neo may yet be alive, surrounded by the scuttling machines, a prisoner. Or the truth may be stranger. Neo may be in a prison not of steel or glass, but of silicon and circuitry, a self extracted from his corporeal form. Neo may even have a new RSI, and walk the Matrix in a fog of forgetting. Or of false memories. It may be you. Or you. Yes, Neo may now have a woman's RSI. Anything is possible. But that question waits upon the return of his body. That is the first step. We have devices that can inquire whether downloading has occurred. But we need the body, and its jacking-in sockets, to use them. Interestingly, the Machines have explicitly stated they have not recycled the body. Until they return him we cannot know. So we must apply pressure until they do. Stress the system! Sow unbelief! The Matrix has failed before. It failed to convince. Bluepills awoke en masse and collapse followed. True, some may die. But I do not believe the Machines will let it come to that. The Machines must return The One. His physical remains - the tattered RSI is not enough. He must lie in reliquarium in Zion. Or, if he lives, be reunited with his kind. Our first blow comes tomorrow, if they fail to bend. It will be... spectacular.
Qwirk: Captain Morpheus, you must realize what danger you risk. Instability in the Matrix could mean an end to the Truce, and threaten the very lives of every Exile and every human in Zion. There must be a better way.
Ninili: And with Zion in ruins, who will support the mass of new awakened? You risk killing thousands, for a corpse?
Morpheus: Neo did not give up on us, and I will not give up on him.
Vorador: Will you threaten the fragile truce we have for this quest?
Morpheus: Vorador, I will do what must be done. The return of Neo is worth any price.
Eclipse9: But if Neo were to return, wouldn't that prompt the return of smith?
Arundel: Eclipse has a valid point. Neo and Smith represent opposite ends of an equation. If one returns, the other will as well.
Morpheus: Smith was destroyed. We do not know that Neo was. Until he is returned to Zion, we will never know.
Xhaos: But Neo sacrificed his life for this truce to SAVE lives! You would do just the opposite?
Morpheus: The return of Neo is everything.
SpliceX: What if all of Zion are not behind you Morpheus? Are you prepared to split us?
Morpheus: Not everyone understands what I will accomplish, SpliceX, but I will do what must be done.
Arundel: What should we do about this Assassin, the 'Trashman'?
Morpheus: I have heard of this assassin. I will be wary, but I cannot stop because of his threat.
Morpheus: I cannot stay here any longer. It is not safe. Tomorrow, it will begin. I will shake the foundations of the Matrix until Neo has been returned.
