Recording of Morpheus and an unknown redpill
Morpheus: Yes.
Morpheus: I don't know. That's the point. He could be alive, in some kind of prison on the surface. They could want to use him. Or he could be jacked in. They can delete your memory. He could be him, or him, or even her, and not know who he is.
Morpheus: There's no reason not to think so. Unless we get his body. That's all I'm trying to do.
Recording of the Merovingian and Persephone
A recording of the Merovingian and Persephone with an unknown guest
Merovingian: I am counting on your discretion. I think you understand what I mean...
Persephone: (Coughs) Must you do this here?
Merovingian: We are already finished, are we not?
Persephone: His charms elude me.
Merovingian: Be thankful he did not undress.
Persephone: What do you mean?
Partial recording of Niobe talking to a friend
A partial recording of Niobe confiding in a friend.
"I was young -- very young. So was he, but already he was gathering people around him. Having a mission in life gives you charisma. I liked that, his confidence, his dream -- at least at first.
I don't even know how he found the Oracle. Maybe she found him, but he seemed to have a direct line to some ultimate Truth, and boy, that was welcome. Life was desperate back then.
I had a knack for piloting. Something to do with sensing where you are in space, among objects. My brain works that way, so I was valued. I was useful. A source of pride."

"He just got more obsessed. There were failures. This one guy, really seemed to be the One. Extreme athlete. Risk taker. Learned things fast, had slight precognition. And an ego the size of, oh, the hovercraft dock. He liked the idea of being a savior -- bad sign right there.
He was killed by Agents almost immediately. Morpheus was shattered, but was careful not to show it. A lot of people started to think he was just a fanatic, a fool.
I stood by him. You stand by the man you love. But I admit I lost faith, inside. I think he sensed that. We stopped getting along."

"I also learned there had been other "Ones." Incredibly, they were secrets, or semi-secrets. Like a doctor, Morpheus buried his mistakes. But no wonder some people thought he was crazy. In a way I understand Cypher.
So, I had ambitions. I wanted to command a hovercraft. He wanted me to stay as his pilot.
We had one of those blowups where you say the things that should never be said. I told him I'd never really believed. A lie, of course, but the cruelest thing I could say. He was giving me that I-made-you-My-Fair-Lady crap and I was furious."

That ended that. I guess Lock had had his eye on me, so he later said. I was ready to be with someone who took me on my own terms. Not that it's easy on that poor man.
So yes, me and Morpheus? We had something. But it isn't easy loving a true believer. Even if he turns out to be right.
Some time later I had a chance to make things right with him. Not to go back. Not exactly.
I've said too much already. Enough.

> coz i met him a bunch of times
You're a liar or blind or both. Anyone who ever met Neo knows what kind of man he was, and what kind of people he wanted us all to be. He gave us the opportunity to go on and to try to achieve that potential. He gave us a second chance. I don't understand why everyone can't see that. He told us what we need to know to get there, if we would only listen.

Crucic's Medical Journal *(Note: The audio file contains more dialogue)*
Morpheus approached me complaining of headaches, nightmares, anxiety, depression -- classic signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
No mystery to it. Agent Smith tortured him for hours. Virtual torture with real traumatic effects.
We have no psychopharmeceuticals in Zion, so we jack the patient into a construct. For Morpheus' it was a seaside, subtropical setting. When it came to a sexual surrogate, I had to exercise care. For ethical reaspons we can't base it on anyone, but it was obvious to me who would model the surrogate; his old lover, Niobe. Without his knowledge, I asked her if she would allow this. She assented, with my assurance that it would remain confidential.
Niobe came to me during Morpheus's treatment. She asked that she replace the surrogate. The benefits of someone with love for the patient made my decision simple.
I have no idea if Niobe ever told him she was more than an artificial surrogate. He never mentioned it, but it was the best medicial he could have had.
Transcript of the Audio Version of the Above File
"Mmm ... I'm physician Crucic, and I treated Morpheus ... erm, you need the date? Uh, over a period of four weeks, with follow ups scheduled but never completed due to a certain war going on. Sorry, I'll stick to the facts.
"Morpheus approached me complaining of headaches, hyper-alertness, nightmares, anxiety, depression. Classic signs of PTSD. A Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He was elated because he'd found Neo, but there was all this difficulty too. No mystery to it. The Agents, particularly Agent Smith, tortured him over a period of hours. Virtual torture, but with very real traumatic effects. Then he was shot, dangled from a helicopter ... quite a remarkable series of events. Massive psychic trauma. It reopened some older episodes as well.
"We have next to zero psychopharmeceuticals here in Zion, but we do have a treatment ... we've had great success with. We jack in the patient to a peaceful, safe construct. Uh, a lengthy interview establishes what it should be like. We let them relax, play. Sex is greatly healing, so we facilitate that. In Morpheus' case, it was a seaside, subtropical setting. A little open pavilion he could sleep in, erm, some favorite books, some facilities for exercise. When it came to a sexual surrogate, I had to exercise care. For ethical reasons, we can't just base it on anyone we choose. But it was obvious to me from interviewing Morpheus that the most felicitous choice would be to model the surrogate on his old lover, Niobe. Erm, without his knowledge, I asked her if she would allow this. She assented, with my assurance that it would remain confidential. Until this hearing, it has remained so.
"Niobe surprised me. She came to me during Morpheus' treatment on at least five, six occasions. Maybe more. She asked that she be jacked in to the same construct and ... replace the surrogate. The benefits of someone with history, understanding, and obvious love for the patient maybe my decision simple. I have no idea if Niobe ever told him, or if he realizes she was more than an artificial surrogate. He ... never mentioned it. But, I suspect it was the best medicine he could have had."
Tabloid Clipping
This clipping from the local tabloid "The Daily Illuminator" is torn from the page rather than cut neatly: "Police are on the lookout for a local woman who disappeared from City General Hospital yesterday afternoon. The woman, Sarah Edmontons, age 27, had suffered a massive brain injury as the result of a stroke and had been on life support machines for over a month, with little to no brainwave activity. Doctors were shocked to find her missing from her bed, and even more amazed to discover that hospital security cameras show her walking out of the hospital on her own. 'This sort of thing is incredibly rare, but it does happen sometimes,' said a hospital spokesperson. 'She could be in a delusional state, though, and might be a danger to herself and others. It is very important that she be found.' Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Sarah Edmontons should contact their local police department immediately." In blue pen there is a hand scrawled question in the margin: "IS THIS HIM?!"
