*After a failed argument with Itarrot (he legged it before I could get a word in edgeways), I went looking for one of the Cypherite's new liaisons: Tranta. Dragonram got him on the blower and we met in Club Sphinx.*
*Tranta rolls his eyes.*
*Tranta looks around.*
*Procurator crosses his arms at Tranta.*
Procurator: Well now, let's extend a warm invitation to the latest Cypherite on the block.
Tranta: Don't strain yourself.
Dragonram: I won't.
Tranta: You look strained enough.
Procurator: Meh. Draggy called you over, for one reason or another.
Dragonram: For you Proc.
Tranta: So the call so elegantly put. Shall we cut the pleasantries?
Procurator: I already said: I wasn't that intent on meeting him.
Tranta: Not that they'd be extensive....
Procurator: No, they wouldn't. At least you appreciate our position. However, I want to appreciate yours. What kind of Cypherite are you?
Tranta: Hmm? You have catagories?
Procurator: Oh yes.
lorellei: Well apart from Psycho
Procurator: Peaceful Cypherites, proper Cypherites and normal Cypherites.
Dragonram: Normal....hah.
Tranta: Peaceful, proper and normal...
Tranta: Could you explain them a little more?
Procurator: Peaceful is obvious: they just wanna get plugged back in. No problem there.
Procurator: Proper are what you'd expect a Cypherite to be: taking after Cypher in that they want to be reinserted but are somewhat violent about it.
Procurator: Normal Masked, on the other hand, seem to be in it for the blood. Killing people with no readily apparent reason, and no desire to even be reinserted.
Tranta: Eh... I see.
Tranta: Well....
Tranta: I'm not much of a fighter, nor do I advocate it, so I guess I can't be 'normal' - Although I do realise that it's sometimes unnavoidable to raise arms.
Procurator: Raising arms against EPN, for example, is fine by me, just so we're clear.
Tranta: Even though I'm more lenient, I don't exactly go toting for Pluribites.
*Dragonram coughs.*
Dragonram: I still prefer Teen Team.
Tranta: But as a 'liaison' I can't say I just want to be reinserted... I'm here to help others towards that goal and, in the end, taking orders from the up-tops.
Tranta: But personally? As an individual, then it's more than likely Peaceful.
Procurator: Fair enough. You have an excuse for not being reinserted. So you'd say you're more in line with Cryptos' way of thinking than Veil's? Forgetting, for the moment, that Cryptos was a puppet.
Tranta: Yeah. Cryptos had it right, fake or not.
Procurator: H'mm. Well now, that's good to hear.
Procurator: What's your stance on your colleague, Itarrot?
Tranta: Well now, I can't exactly come here and badmouth him, can I?
Tranta: Tranta chuckles.
Procurator: Oh, but that'd be swell. Heh.
Tranta: Itarrot... Itarrot is a short tempered guy trying to relax.
Tranta: He's got more of a penchant for violence than most, though.
Tranta: And I'm sure you know he's not shy about that.
Procurator: If you're able to help sway the Cypherite movement towards a more peaceful approach, as Cryptos was trying to do, I'm sure we'd all be much happier.
Procurator: Now that he's gone, you see, there's just Veil at the helm, which can't be good for... any party, really.
Dragonram: Is he actually gone?
Tranta: Eh? Oh, Cryptos? He's not gone, as such.
Dragonram: Didn't think so....
Procurator: I'm not sure what his situation is, but I'm sure the Cypherite movement won't be listening to him anymore.
Tranta: He's temporarily out of action... He's in no state to return to the Matrix, but if you thought he was dead, then he's not.
Tranta: Hmm, it all depends on what choice words he has for the Machines when he's back.
Procurator: If Cryptos is back to his normal self he needs to be killed. Now. Nukes in the Matrix - indeed!
*Procurator snorts derisively.*
Tranta: Well I don't expect Agent Gray to be getting chocolates and a 'Let's be Friends' card.
Dragonram: I don't expect he'd know what either of those were.
Procurator: Heh, indeed not.
Tranta: No, but it'd be funny....
Tranta: But honestly? I can't say what Cryptos is going to do... But he's still aboard the Dreamer, so we won't let him do too much.
Procurator: *Laughs.* Never thought I'd be glad to hear of the Cypherites handling something.
Dragonram: Proccy here has had bad experiences.
Procurator: Yes. Yes I have.
Procurator: But let's not dwell...
Procurator: How about this... *checks his PDA* ... Haigen fellow? Met them yet?
Tranta: Haigen helped me out of a real jam at the weekend; some nasty business with an exile.
Tranta: But I've not met her face to face in the Matrix yet. She's on the Dreamer, so obviously we've met.
Dragonram: A her?...
Procurator: You're all on the same hovercraft, are you?
Tranta: Oh yes.
*Havocide yawns.*
Tranta: The Blue Dreamer's our little HQ, but I can't say much more than that.
Procurator: Oh-hoho, I'm making a note of that. *Laughs.*
Tranta: Nor do I.... Good God, him.
Procurator: Oh, Havocide? Bah. Ignore him.
Dragonram: Hm? Him wh---Ah.
Dragonram: Teen Team makes me laugh.
Havocide: There is no Havocide.
*Havocide looks around.*
Tranta: Hmm.. Oh? Who? Oh, him.... I'd already forgotten about him.
Procurator: A wise move.
Havocide: Heh, Proc you dont even know me, dont judge.
Procurator: I don't need to know you - you're an EPN.
Procurator: I read somewhere that you'd got into the discussion of our little Declaration of Independence. I'm just dying to hear what you thought of it.
Havocide: Anyways i've heard what i needed.
Tranta: Good, now run along.
Havocide: Always watching, remember that.
*Tranta yawns.*
Procurator: *Laughs.* Good! Then you can verify what we say publicly!
Tranta: You go now.
Tranta: So, what now? Oh, right, the declaration....
Tranta: Yeah... I got into a little talk with Eddy about it.
Procurator: Vogt was there?
Dragonram: That was fun.
Tranta: Hmm, yeah. The rest did most of the talking, though... It was a maelstrom of opinion.
Procurator: What're your thoughts on it? Though it was primarily aimed at Zion, of course.
Tranta: My opinion? Well, it certainly makes any unification, or at least good terms between our organisations difficult. I find that personally frustrating.
Tranta: But I can understand; There are some bloodthirsty Cypherites.
Procurator: Unification is not posible right now, nor do I see it happening any time soon. There's far too large a violent sect in your numbers.
*Tranta shrugs.*
Tranta: We all have to get our muscle somewhere.
Procurator: Now if you could just aim it at the correct opponents...
Tranta: Don't count on any leeway, I'm afraid. Veil's pretty pissed.
Tranta: And she just got a fat promotion.
lorellei: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" I guess
Tranta: You know, I said the same thing yesterday.
Dragonram: Hell hath no fury like a woman full stop.
Tranta: That was about ChloeAnne, though... Ahem.
*Tranta coughs.*
Procurator: That's our problem. You do your best to calm things down. You know it makes sense: you're gonna need the Machines and theur operatives to get you reinserted. Don't go pissing us off.
Tranta: Heh. You can't say that your organisation isn't at all to blame. The programs are responsible for this mess.
Procurator: True, and I'm very angry at the Machines for resorting to these tactics. They've still got a lot to learn.
Tranta: Well Veil seems to want to teach them the hard way.
Tranta: Like I said; I don't agree, but I'm not crossing her.
Dragonram: Chicken...
Procurator: But the Cypherites' acts of terrorism were happening even with Cryptos in charge. He failed to stop her, so I guess you will to.
Tranta: You wanna go a round with her, big man!?
Dragonram: Not really...her circular glasses give me the creeps.
Procurator: Veil and her kind are doomed: they won't find the Machines' forgiveness, if such a concept is even relevant. But others, those who don't push too far and in the wrong direction will realise their dream.
Procurator: In other words: stop killing people. Except EPN. That's cool.
Tranta: Try to tell her that. I have an obligation to obey my orders, troublesome as they can get.
Tranta: But I also have an obligation to the Cypherite masses.
Procurator: We all have a chain of command. It's a question of balance.
Tranta: Veil's no sociopathic murderer. She has a thing for gore, true, but she's not dumb.
Procurator: Oh no, certainly not. Evil doesn't imply dumb.
Dragonram: That's what the Teen Team is for.
Procurator: *Laughs.*
Tranta: And Gray doesn't seem too keen to make a big deal out of this. So don't think of us as under the thumb just yet.
Procurator: I never did. Cryptos was their puppet, and he failed to keep the majority of your movement under reins.
Tranta: As long as I'm around, though, I'll work towards more of an easy approach with the Machines. Life's a drag when there's nowhere to kick back.
Tranta: Er... No pun intended.
Procurator: Well, that's good to hear. And you're a lot more approachable than Itarrot. The idiot can't even argue: vanishes before anyone can counter him.
Procurator: If you see him, tell him I've got unfinished business with the little git.
Tranta: Eh... It's not our job to argue.
Tranta: It's just a perk.
Tranta: But, eh... I'll pass the message along, heh.
Tranta: And on that note, I've places to be.
Dragonram: As do I actually.
Procurator: Well now, it's been... productive seeing you.
Tranta: Eheh... Yeah.
Tranta: Rest easy, lady and gents. This probably won't be the last time.
*Tranta tips his hat.*
Procurator: And if we ever come across this... 'Blue Dreamer' of yours, jump. Heh.
Dragonram: See y'around.
*You tip your hat to Tranta.*
Tranta: I think you oughta be more afraid of us finding you. Heh.
lorellei: See you, nice to meet you
Procurator: *Aside to Drag & Lore:* He's got that right. The Aggregator ain't exactly a fortress.
*Dragonram chuckles.*
*lorellei smiles.*
*Assuming he's telling the truth, it's good to know there's at least one sensible Cypherite. Well, as sensible as you can get if you decide to follow Veil's movement.
*I'd love to hear what was said the other day when Tranta met with others.*
