Or is Vista set up to stop me from doing that I don't realy want to buy another copy of vista again. Thanks

If you format your hard drive you basically have a clean slate so there should be nothing to stop you from putting XP back on. Assuming you had Windows XP on originally, you would just follow the same process to put Vista back on once you are happy to upgrade again. Jeffers

Your activation code might not work a second time (Mine didn't), so be ready to call up India for a new one. Don't worry, they're pretty helpful, and if you just tell them "For some reason my activation code is not working," they'll give you a new one with virtually no questions asked.

Cool, thanks guys for the help. Now I'm off to sit and watch the never ending SP upgrades once I get XP installed again (dang old XP disk).

What I did, was keep my HDD with XP on and brought a new one specifically for Vista, so I can switch between the 2 by pressin F8 as the pc boots up and then choose what Drive I wish to use... Not sure if it is viable for you too buy a new hard-drive, but they are relatively inexpensive nowadays, picking 250gig+ for under £50/ $95, that way you can keep both, and in the future when Vista is fully compatable, you can just use the XP drive for 100% storage or what not... Just giving you more options...

I herd of people doing that, but wasn't sure how they do it. I tried to install XP on a new partition on my hard drive, but almost messed up Vista all together. Thanks for the post Shauntaylor I think I'll try your idea first. I can get a new hard drive for pretty cheap, I wouldn't think it'd need to be a very big one. Thanks again you guys, you all have been a big help.

In Vista? Well I have the same texture problems everyone else is having, (I was able to workaround them by shutting the shadows off), I can't take pictures (comes out as a black screen), my game runs jerky I'm only getting around 18-20 fps when I was getting 40-50 with xp that's with every thing on. Sometime the textures on buildings which are suppose to be brick will turn into that reflection you see on some of the building windows, and if I put on clothing that has a shine reflective look to it my whole screen will go nuts with flat bland textures. Thoes are just some of them, the ones I can remember off hand.

Hello The Cailleach ,
Well there went one theory, if you still have Vista installed would you post the files asked for in Must read before posting: How to post your System/Network information (you'll need to hit Window key R to get the run box)

Yeah it has that option, and I've tried running it in compatability mode but it didn't seem to make any difference.
