Welcome back.

Seeing how I'm from Syntax, I could careless about a merge or not. Most of you have alts on our server anyways. Our server is never truly dead except for maybe one or two hours at the crack of dawn. Our pvp is constant, going on every 2- 3 hour with break, we also have the longest pvp moments (highest I counted was 5 hours straight). The only thing that's really going to make the other servers active is that Rarebit decided to spread out the meetings, events and parties over all three of the servers. So that means if you want to be part of the story then you'll have to have a char on that server.

If they do decide to merge I think it would make it alot less of a hassle having the events and ect, but then you have to account for server lag and all that. I remember recently when a bunch of Vets returned to syntax. It was great and all but you couldn't pvp to save you life because the lag was so bad.

I guess I'll make my decision about yay or nay on merging after we have these meetings. The Merv one is first so I'm hoping it won't be that bad. Then again I think the last time we had THAT many players in one room/area was when the Zion meeting with Niobe in club paralaxisis was crashed by opposing orgs. Rare had to go through and pwn every red, eventually the lag died down.

So, yea, my decision is neutral for now.

Welcome to the real world Mr. Bazley, do not be startled. It is a lot to take in at first, I know. In tim you will get use to it and understand your surroundings. Please have a seat while I explain things, this is for your benefit. Right now your mind is jacked into a training simulation while we work on your body. Here you will learn the basic motor skills to function within the matrix, are you ready to begin…

“Don’t let her escape!”  , Shouted a Zion soldier as he leapt over the edge of a building and on to a platform. He pointed toward the red headed female operative that was making her way toward a tattered building. “She went inside, fan out a cover all exits.”  The soldiers moved into position, making sure that no escape was possible. Two began making their way toward the elevator, they hit the button for the  4^th floor.  “Her code signature ends there, be careful guys she doesn’t seem like the others.”   , The operator ended the call and the men paced themselves toward the first door. A loud cracking noise could be heard inside, they moved back as it became louder. One of the soldiers became daring and put the side of his head against the door to see if he recognized the sound. It was the last thing he would ever do as a shot rand through the air and the soldiers brain matter ended up and the far wall. “Holy sh*t!  , One of the soldiers screamed in fear, as they began retreating back toward the elevator. “W- we can’t show any fear men, we have to take her out... , screw it I’m calling in for back up!”  Moments later the building was filled with Zion soldiers. Half of them made their way to the fourth floor while the other half surrounded the building. “You stupid ignorant fools, die!”  , The soldiers barged into the room only to find it empty. As they searched the area they found the source of the cracking noises, wired explosives embedded in the walls, ceiling, and floor. There was no time to react as the building detonated in a fiery explosion.

“Joe, wait up, I’m not that fast!” Joe turned around as he saw Tara struggling to keep up. “Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot your still asleep.” He ran back to help her up, “Well I won’t be for long right, your going to find my pod and awaken me and then we can be free together.”  Joe stopped and stared out over the ledge, “Of course, we’ll be together forever my love…”

“You did very well Joseph, are you ready to see the Matrix?” Niobe nodded to Joe as he tried to catch his breath. “Yes, I am.” He stood up and clench his fist. “Very well then, load it.” Joe’s eyes glazed over with code as he exited the simulation. As his body began to reappear, he felt a crunchy feeling underneath his feet. He looked around as his eye adjusted and noticed giant crates, a hard line, and a semi. ‘Where the hell is this place?’, he thought. “You’re in Uriah, shouldn’t be too much trouble for you to find your way around, stand on your guard though.” His operator signed off after relaying the information.

“What in the hell happened??!!??!” The lead soldier screamed into his headset. “Someone answer me!” Soldiers and debris were everywhere.  Code static, still flying through the air as the men picked themselves up. “T-target lost, sir,” The soldier weakly rose to his feet, “Casualties, numerous.”

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Tara looked out over the ledge, “Have you ever just stared at it before?” Joe looked over to her, taking her hand in his. “Every day, I don’t ever want to leave it.” He sighed as he thought for a moment, Tara squeezed his hand tighter. “What with you tell the others though?” Joe grit his teeth. “D*mn, the others I’m not here for them, only for you.” Tara hand became limp, and she began falling to the ground. “Tara?”, Joe looked over to her, she had a gaping hole in her back, “Tara??!?”.  Joe let go of her hand as he grabbed the side of his head, he then screamed in anguish, “TARA!” He looked over to his left as saw the smoking barrel in the hand of one of his own. “You will never leave us now.” The masked man began laughing meniachaly as Joe charged toward him in rage.

"Wake up!" Grace woke out of his trance, the stun effect had worn off, he was back in Camon hieghts battling Machine operatives. He looked to his left and noticed a mech coding the air toward him. He quickly threw a knife at him, rooting him to the ground. He ran backwards till he was just out of range of the dangerous attack. Lowering himself to the ground he activated his cloak and crept toward the rooting enemy. As he closed in, he pulled out his shield jamming device and proceeded to hack the mechs evasion code.With success, he quickly put the device away and lept forward toward the mech before the shield became active once more. He wrap his arms around the mech and lifted off the ground, launching him in the air. He held on tight as he came crashing to the crash, the mechs head smashed into the pavement. Grace jumped up and faced the mech that was staggering around after bieng suplexed. He threw another knife, rendring him powerless. He continued his onslaught until the mechs RSI couldn't take anymore, and fell to the ground. "Your a p*ssy, fight light a man next time!", Grace looked down at the mech and laughed, "My mistake, all I heard was blah blah blah I'm just failed." He pulled a blade out of it's shealth and pointed it at the mech, "You might wanna activate that EJP before I finish the job, b*tch." The operatives eyes grew wide with fear, "Pull me out now!", he screamed at his operator.

Grace flew up in the air and landed on top of a building, and fell to his knees. His hands hit the ground as he started breathing heavy. He heaved foward and coughed up blood, which hit the ground in a disgusting splatter. He dropped to his side and curled up in a ball, as he closed his eyes. Graces mind raced a thousand thoughts a miute. Flashes and random images over took the darkness of the back of his eyelids.

A thump? Another... Another.. A heartbeat? Yes, that's what he heard, a heartbeat. "You...", he heard a faint voice, "Me... You... I" , he heard it once more, louder this time...closer. "I am you and you are me", He looked around and couldn't find anyone. " I am you and you am I", Grace began backing up, then he walked foward, turned left, then right. The voice was all around him, he couldn't understand what was happening to him. He could have been hit with something during the battle. No, not possible, he was watching his back making sure no one snuck up on him. He stopped, the voice had stopped, there was just silence. "Release me." Grace saw a light, "Release me!", the light became brighter, "RELEASE ME!" The light flashed and Grace opened his eyes.

He was back on the roof in Camon, he looked to his right and saw the blood he had coughed up. "Operator, exit." Grace stood up and walked to the edge of the building. He looked down toward the ground and spotted the plaza where the battle took place. He noticed the hardline, "Nevermind." He put his phone away and jumped down. He picked up the reciever and jacked out.

It's called a typo, but anyways I still didn't get an answer to my question. Are you saying that you should be able to know when they are on or that you should be able to /t them. If your talking about /t I think that's a bad idea considering your talking about having almost every player at the event sending rare a tell every five minutes. If your talking about them just showing up on your buddy list in general I think that would be a pretty good idea and give most players a heads up on what going on.

I hear that zions and mervs instantly truce when keppen jacks in. Confirm/Deny?

Although this may present a very serious problem, it was highly amusing to see the incessant sabre rattling of quite a few of the Merovingian's operatives fall apart as Seraph batted them about. Perhaps you'll not be so cocky in the future, but then perhaps you will.

That shite was crazy, Seraph was way worse that the time he was infused with those cheat codes. I don't know if he did it or that Wright woman hand a hand in this. It bad that was have no idea where he is headed, I'm sure he can be tracked with the amount of energy he's giving off. Should busted him up a bit before his power lvl went over 9000 in my honest opinion...

If the events are going to be more sporadic, the characters should no longer be invisible on buddy lists. Just my two cents.

I don't know. After 4 years, PVP and the same old, got old. Most of what I still enjoyed involved Vogt's hovercraft battles, the c0wb0y side story, misc. events, and tournaments. I could really care less about cinematics or critical missions. As someone who did most of the crits and tried to make most events on most servers, the concept of having a story that players could interact with every day is now completely gone, and no amount of cinematics or whatever are going to bring that back. I can take that hit and run with it, but if all Vogt's stuff is gone too, I really can't fathom what there's left to look forward to. I'll stick around for a while to hopefully be proven wrong, but my gut feeling is that my addiction to this game was just broken.

Agent Norris crossed the room standing opposite of the table. Joseph stared over to the agent "Not exactly", He wanted to say more but his mouth was in far too much pain. "Resisting arrest, you fled from and Agent." Agent Norris adjusted his tie and he bent down to grab a file off the table.

"Arrest for what, I didn't do anything." Josephs' heart began to race. "Mr. Bazley understand that we have been tracking your movements." He spoke gentle but with a very firm tone. "You frequent a certain online group called, The Seekers. Do you deny this information?", Joseph started to feel panic ensue, he had to get outta there.

"Perhaps you would respond better to your alias, would that make you a believer?" Joseph shot Agent Norris a look of anger. "Will you cooperate then, Grace of Darkness?" Agent Norris opened the file and began to scan through it. "Your handle is a meaning of poectic evil. Gracefully using decietful tactics to gain rise over situations." He closed the file and set it back down on the table.

 "Not a very graceful escape today, though no one ever escapes us." A grin came across Josephs face, "I say your lying", Agent Norris arched an eyebrow in curiosty. "I know of 3 that have escaped from you." Agent Norris adjusted his stance, "If you know of such information, then you will enlighten me on this claim." Joseph sat back in his chair resting his forearms on his thighs.

"As I was saying, there were two red pills and a blue pill. The first was Seraph, After that Trinity." Joseph began looking around the room, "Who is the third, Mr. Bazley?" Joseph jump to his feet, "Me!", he yelled as he flipped over the table. He jump on the edge of the table and took a diving leap off. He raised his foot up and it connected with the glass mirror. He rolled as he hit the floor, and rose to his feet as quickly as possible.

Agent Norris came barreling though what used to be a glass wall. He raised a finger toward Joseph. "It is Inevitable, Mr Bazley, there is no escape." Joseph turn to face the Agent, " You know what's funny, they told me this would haoppen exactly as it is now." Agent Norris slowly began lowering his hand, " Who are they, Mr Baz-", before he could finish the wall exploded.

"This is my exit!" Joseph yelled at the Agent through all the noise of shatter glass and flying debris.

Joseph stood at the opening in the side of the building, he took a deep breath and leapt.

With the unfolding of certain events, I am currently looking for a faction to call home on Recursion. I promise you my knowlege and skill in killing speak for themselves. I prefer a faction that stays up to date with current events and is very active with in the Merovingians organization. Please contact me in game or leave a message here and I shall seek you out.

This organization has taken a turn for the worse but believe us when we say,

"We are here to stay."

My reason for going Merv is a series of negative values that arose while trying to give my Cyph background more depth. I first began noticing the failure of my RP when a certain thread came out and pretty much stated an obvious fact, where the hell is this org going? No matter how many angle I tried to think of, I couldn't really come to a conclusion. Secondly I could really find what sort of use my character was to the org, am I just another lackey that fights when told to? Do I have an actual purpose in this faction, and how can I tie in my backstory with current cypherite events. Afterwards Cyph events became less and less frequent, and trailed off to side stories with mention of the mainstory. So, what now, were not even part of the main story anymore? How the hell did the org get back to that position? I started noticing the same thing with EPN, they slowing started trailing off into a side story. I think what was the last straw for me really was, the Libertas Virtas Story . Can you recycle content is a worse way than that? Wasn't EPN already supposed to be like the Sleepwalker type situation, I mean Zion themselves were hunting them when they first appeared. I had seriuosly thought about leaving the moment it came out, but decided to stick around just out of curiosity. They pull off one major event and the next day Haigen signs her resignation... OMGWTF are you serious!!?? So now I'm left with what, two liasons that rarely jack in, one I barely speak o and the other I said maybe one or two words to since she replaced a previous liason.

I decided to jump ship with haigen at that point, there was seriously no way I can build my RP of that organization. I couldn't find any substance or even a good foundation for the heart of my characters story. My Cyph adventures with grace will be left as an event in which he was still trying to find his tue place in the matrix. My alt however I have not really built any rp on yet, this can be a great start for them seeing how it's sort of like a fresh start. This new direction seems like a second reboot of the cyph organization, first the realization of reinsertion not bieng poossible and now a side kick organization that shall rarely be mentioned in the main story.

I rather had been part of the original plan, to tell you the truth. I started my cyph rp with the knowlegde that we would be beaten. I didn't get as far as to wether or not I delete my character when the org fell but I was close to it. I seriously would have rathered that aproach, than being dust in the wind. The only reason we'll still even be acknowleged is because of the tags, but that's it.

I am now more confident than even in my decision for name of the faction. It will atleast keep our memory alive when seen by new players and not as a random name with the word CYPH next to it. Same thing with EPN, I think them choosing that name will benifit them even more now.

I will admit I now have a reason to play my alt seeing how there won't be anymore cyph factions popping up every thirty seconds. Plus it will give me a chance to play a different type of personality, even though I'm playing a skitzo type personality at the moment.

I just hope there are enough rpers left in the org when this update come out. As I said before like 95% of the cyph population on syntax is pvp only. This is actually one of the reasons I liked the small event groups, because you didn't have non rpers ruining events with ooc chat. Sadly this org is one of the worst for player events on syntax, no one is even IC and it's annoying when you have to wait 3 hours for people to stop arguing or spamming so you can continue the event.

Since rare isn't killing off Veil and Cryptos, it would actually be pretty awesome to have the chance encounters with them like when they first appeared.

Also if no story based RP is going to be that frequent anymore with this org then  I'll defidently be making some, even if it's by myself with 50,000 alts.

It will pretty much go back to what it was before they officially stated that they were organizations. Were you not doing that before Trucidous?

They might be hinted in the storyline but I Idoubt there with be anymore actually references to them unless of course they decide to allow the org to do a sort of seperate mission during a machine live event.

I really don't know how it's gonna turn out, I know that most people that are with the Insidious faction are only there because of Kellners return. Most Cyph factions on syntax are pvp only so they may just keep the tag just to be different. So, I wouldn't bank your money on cyph rp on syntax to be real strong either.

My alt will be staying Cyph for however long as possible, this just gives me a reason to actully play them now because before I was only hopping on just for live events which were becoming non existant (now I know the reason lol).

I must admit though if rare is not gonna jump on Cryptos or Veil anymore I'm gonna really miss Veil. I like the substance of her character, but it really wouldn't make any sense to keep the orgs without leaders.

I thought it over and I'm all for this new change, amazingly I was seriously going to leave the game once diablo 3 hit shelves. With this new change though I am very interested in the game again.

With this new direction for more story driven content and what not I may just be able to hang up my pvp gaunlets once and for all. I for one thought that this story was really going in no direction, just random characters with overly detailed backgrounds that would never be mentions again but I see now that this game is finally going in a major story direction.

I am actually for the removal of the liasons seeing how there are many complaints about why a liason is never on. I also agree with the faction that it did make it seem that you had to be on that certain subscribers good side to actually be able to participate in events and/or other content. Also they experience is ruined for most people when LESIG members can't keep their mouths shut about who there main character is or w/e details they recieved about the next part of the story.

The Org wide meeting is a great idea which means that players will not be left out of events because 1. they are knew and don't know anyone 2. are on days events are happening but are oblivious to the fact 3. Their org liason refuses to do their job and direct that player to the event when asked. I've seen way too many post on the live event thread with people saying that they weren't told or were on that day and didn't get the memo. Factions are to blame also for decisions to with hold infomation.

With the small scale live events I'm wondering if you will have time to pull the early cr1 event character appearances, such as Seraph coming out of nowhere on a group of players downtown. Maybe Niobe teaming with a pair of Zion who happened to be doing god knows what in sai kung and go on some sort of miny mission that could or could not be part of the story line.

 The Cyph/EPN thing seeemed inevitable right after the break in the truce, I had wondered how long after it happend would these two groups last. After Haigen decided to depart it seems like that was the cue to part ways with that sub org. Those that continue to play there roles with those orgs I commend your effort, it truly shows how knowledgable about true RP you really are.

What do you mean by said, "new challenges"? Is that mission difficulty, NPC power, or a genral increase of difficulty in things that say a 50 would encounter. Because frankly bieng able to sprint through criticals without a scratch is not my idea of the true Matrix. The Valkajr boss seems like it would be more like something a 50 would need to fight in mission criticals but without the need to change builds just to beat them.

Will there be no more seceret messages in the Senteniel or will those continue? Also how often with the newspaper be updated, because once a month seems waaaay two long.

I'm glad the cinematics are returning I agree that most players relying on this for info about what was currently going on in the storyline. There been way too many time including recently where i'm had a player on team after what the hell was going on and what an item/device or person was or did.

The RSI capture sounds like it will work like when brewko comes on and changes players into npcs characters, once you log out or put on a disguise it's removed, right?

The party idea sounds great and will allow new players to see that they are not alone in the game. I know some people that start the game and dissapointed when they looka round and only see a bunch of crates, big rigs and wharehouses.

As long as there will still be live events and not scripted failures of npcs, I'll be happy. I swear if I log onto game one day and theres a Merv or Niobe NPC standing in a random spot like the white rabbit telling you story information, I'm out.

Anyways love the new ideas can't wait to see em in action.

Considering my level 30 on Syntax outrolls you in interlock, I don't think your opinion on what's good or bad pvp on any server is valid.

That would be the combat system your referring to not the pvp, because my lvl 30 does the same thing to 50's. Try and stay on the current topic.

I can say with no doubt in my mind, Vector PVP is better then Syntax Or recursion. I've been in and I've watched from the outside of Syntax and Recursion pvp, and I'll agree, it is great fun, But Vector takes it to a higher level.

 

I thought the PVP on Vector with that last event with Ghost and Agent Pace was excellent from the looks of it. All three sides were going strong, and the PVP was everywhere.

I can't remember the last time we had PVP like that on Syntax.
