This thread makes me sad that I let this 'job' get to me so bad. I took it so seriously that I burned out fast. I could have a lot more fun with this and made even better friends. . .man, I was really ugly to a few of you guys. I guess I took it much too personally every time I read a post by a player saying "LESIG sux and shud DIE". Man I got tired of hearing that from folks, especially when we were in the LESIG forums fighting with Rarebit about the same things. In the end, there was only so much we could do; our hands were tied even tighter than Rarebit'. And Rarebit. . .poor Rare. Always cleaning up my messes, lol. Like the time I got into an argument here on the forums with WGAnubis and some others about something, and 'outed' myself by posting a retort as Monte by mistake. Anubis said something like "I've seen some dumb mistakes. . ." Arguments and drama will be what I was known for (not that I'll be remembered much at all, lol). Well, sorry for my behavior there guys. Hope ya'll can forgive me for being a... "prat", is it? I guess I should have just chilled and tried to enjoy it a little more.

Procurator wrote: Blackjack-18 wrote: WTB - DN1 Forum backup? Or the script database backup at least....
This is something we definitely need. I don't think it would be a good idea to bung the backup into the post-MxO board, though. As nice as it would be to essentially continue where we left off, these forums are huge and would put a serious strain on whoever hosted them if they were active. Far better to have the DN1 forums as a static archive, and have a separate, active post-MxO forum.
I've tried this using the mirroring/backup tool that SuperJenius pointed me to. The problem, as I see it thus far, is that it only backs up the main page of the forums. I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to backup every single page of these forums. If someone wants to do it, the website copier program (freeware) is at http://www.httrack.com/. You install it, point it to the website you want to backup, and it downloads the whole thing to a folder on your hard drive. If someone can get the whole forum, I can host it and make the links work. But it will only be a copy, I think. I doubt it will mirror the SOE forums engine and database. At least, that was my impression from using it for an hour or so. So, my personal feelings is that Riac's site MXOMainframe is currently our best bet. It's already active, there's no 'bad blood' or history there so it's fairly neutral, and Riac seems like the type that will moderate fairly.

I downloaded the Station Launcher to see if the issue was with the launcher only, but the Launcher seems to think that MxO doesn't exist. Fun stuff.
Get someone to send you their game files. I'd do it for you, but I'm at work.

We were told not to use the sentinel-staff as in-game characters, so no. Not yet, anyway...
Interesting. Then who did Broin encounter in this Sentinel issue? Broin claimed that he litterally encountered Andres Bonifaciaeo. Was it Paul Chadwick in-game?
Actually, I think it was.
But someone else is gonna have to back me up on that.

I haven't been able to mirror more than the forums/list.m page. It's a bit frustrating since there is no support for this kind of thing from the HTtrack software people.

I think the franchise will slip into a coma after MxO closes. . .but it will be reawakened when someone realizes the potential for a television series. That will be the next iteration of Matrix storytelling, and probably what will revive interest in the franchise. My dream? 5 years from now, a TV series based on Morpheus' life and search for the One. . .then perhaps a re-release of the movies or even a new movie. . .which then prompts SOE to dust MxO off and give it another try, in a different form, or better yet, a new company buys the game rights and creates an entirely new MMO. If I were in television, I'd already be working on this.

Euforia from Syntax asked me to post this for her: I can't [re-sub]. It will be laggy as hell on my laptop. Still I feel saddened that the game is going to be gone! I hope to keep in contact with you all on these forums, and I hope someone can open an archive web space and forum for mxo'ers to check in on from time to time on their journeys.
I wish everyone a fulfilling journey wherever they take you, and I'm sure that sometime our paths will cross again.

The map itself will probably be released to the public very soon, in preparation for the end of the story. Outlines and a full release of supplementary material will follow. With luck, the Jokers will be back to laugh away the end of the world. Entropi says hi. <3 Vector mervs.

Three cheers for Harpalos!
Absolute agreement from me. Vogt/Harpalos was an inspiration and a huge help to me when I was in LESIG. The guy was a genius when it came to events, especially puzzles. And he taught me a huge amount about web design when I was creating the Hovercraft Battles page for the 01Network.
He was super-patient and had the heart of a teacher. At least with me, lol. Rarebit. . .not so much. We owe Vogt an even bigger debt of gratitude than you guys might know, because if there was any one LESIG member that could be said to have kept Rarebit from going off the deep end on things, it was Vogt.

I think when everyone sees the "rules" of LESIG, they'll understand a few more things.

My biggest LESIG acheivement: the return of The Sentinel. I think all the LESIG people should take a bow. Especially those who worked so hard, such as Vogt and Bodhivista (Boxmaker and Joker events, as well as a whole slew of stuff that never got finished). Please let us know who you were so you can be recognized. I also want to add that I took things way to seriously as LESIG. For me, it became more of a job than a game. So, apologies to those fellow LESIG I liked to argue with. But, especially to the players who didn't get as much fun out of me.
Hey! No wonder we get along so well. I liked that guy. Stylish and sybaritic like me and my faction. Hehe remember when I got you a full set of Winter 2007 holiday gear cause you werent around for that holiday?
Yeah, you guys were always super helpful that way. Always handing me something new (which we weren't supposed to take, lol, it was against the "rules").
And, yeah, I found it a little bizzare at times, like when we would be debating politics on the boards and then rp'ing later in-game. LOL, good times, good times.

STO is still in development. Beta will probably be beginning soon, though, because rumor has it that they are expecting it to launch late this year. There have been a lot of cool things going on through the forums, though; updates from the writers to let us know what has been going on in the ST universe in the time between Nemesis and the beginning of the game, story contests for lifetime subscriptions, community development ideas, etc.
