I would post this in another thread but.. still having posting access issues.. :/ Anywho, thanks to Raijinn, Virrago and Walrus for their hard work today. My account and Willow's account are now active again and we can jack in as normal. Feel free to move this post to a more appropriate place, or delete it altogether, but I just wanted to say thanks.

Just the simple thought that there is anything to discuss here is silly.. I know Raijinn and Virrago don't have the ability to do what we want/need them to do (the obvious, reactivate the accounts). What I would like to know, however, is where Walrus is.

Yes, yes, there is no dev, no animator, no support from SOE, etc. So, what ideas do we have for "new" things that could be added with little or no actual work on the development side of things? 1.) Masks We've got a decent variety of masks available already, but a bunch of them are locked away as "holiday" specific. Some are, I believe, also dev/mod grantable only. As has already been discussed, make all masks usable all of the time. This includes the main characters that we don't have pre-created masks of. 2.) Spawns I'm still not personally sold on just how much of an impact these could really make in player events (how many times could you trigger a spawn without it becoming "lolz lupin armee attak!!1!".. it could be the same as just another person getting kidnapped, another person getting infected with a kill code, another person getting corrupted by their dark side, etc.). They do however have some use in PEs, and can be a useful and strategic tool in PvP. We know these tools already exist to some extent, so could they be repurposed for normal use in a simple, easy way with no real work for a dev? 3.) Props They can be extremely dumb, but they can be fun too.. and they could aid in creating different PEs. Players should be able to create props (or, more likely, appear as props) like the helicopter, etc .from the anniversary party.

As was brought up in the Top 5 things MMOs should learn in the new year topic here: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300027219 There seems to be some uncertainty over how mission locations in Westview are chosen once you've reached the level at which you start getting sent there. - What is your experience with this?
- At what level are you sent to what area of Westview?
- Does it matter if you start the mission from somewhere in Westview as opposed to somewhere in Richland?

---------- When filling out your next job application, it might be wise to leave your level 80 Shaman off of your list of accomplishments, as some job recruiters are being told to avoid WoW players. Forum poster Tale over on the f13 forums relates an experience with a recruiter in the online media industry, who reacted negatively to his conversational admission that he had spent too much time playing MMORPG games. He replied that employers specifically instruct him not to send them World of Warcraft players. He said there is a belief that WoW players cannot give 100% because their focus is elsewhere, their sleeping patterns are often not great, etc. I mentioned that some people have written about MMOG leadership experience as a career positive or a way to learn project management skills, and he shook his head. He has been specifically asked to avoid WoW players. Having been a major MMO player for the better part of the past 8 years, I can't help but agree with the prospective employers' concerns. I myself had a job I was frequently late for due to me spending all night playing the original Everquest, eventually quitting the job rather than show up late for the umpteenth time in a row. Of course there are folks who can play MMORPG games in moderation, so we can't lump them all into a general category. Still, it's probably best if you left your MMO experience out of the job interview. Sure, it's a major thing in your life, but it shouldn't have bearing on your work performance...unless of course your work leaves you alone for long periods of time with a networked gaming PC. *whistles innocently* http://kotaku.com/5111403/job-recru...oid-wow-players ---------- Hmmm..

There have long been rumours and statements that we, the dedicated exponents of the Machines, have supported and aided the Cypherites. That we have knowingly assisted in atrocities against our fellow men, that we have abetted terrorists in achieving their aims; Actions we have always strenuously denied. Yet still some persist with allegation. Let it, therefore, be known that the following is a formal statement from the Machinist organisation of the Syntax iteration of the Matrix. We do not support Cypherism. We do not aid Cypherites. We do not condone the actions of Cypherites. Cypherites have undermined our organisation, have risked the lives of many for the lives of few, have strived to achieve their goals with questionable methods and this cannot continue. It can no longer be tolerated. While we, the advocates of Gray, strive to selflessly protect the ideals that safeguard the majority, both Machine and Human, and do so in consideration of consequence; The Cypherites act solely to achieve a personal and selfish aim. At times we may all wish for a return to the dream world of the Matrix, where life is easier and worries less troublesome, but it is our dedication to a greater goal, a larger purpose, that ensures our altruistic hearts are not tempted by such a fickle and shallow existence. Yet Cypherites care not for the larger picture, they care not for the lives of the sleeping billions nor for the lives and choices of those who remain awake. They demand the choice to return, yet deny our choice, our conviction, to remain awake. They want their peace at the cost of ours. While we Machinists are both loyal to our leadership and dedicated to our cause it is our duty to show the moralisitic reasoning of humankind to the Machines. Logic would find no flaw of reasoning in working with Cypherites, but moral judgement, a trait unique to man, provides us with another perspective. A perspective which allows us to take a stand, to draw a line in the sand and state "Enough is enough" Perhaps in time the Machines may learn the intricacy of ethics and morals, but that will not happen so long as mankind accepts the action of terrorists. We have taken this stance independently of Gray, but we do not do so in disobedience, we do so for the benefit of all, Man and Machine. The Machinists of Syntax --- It is my honour to post this.. declaration of independence, if you will. I was chosen due to the current losses sustained by myself and my faction at the hands of the Cypherites, but the work is one that was created by many of the prominent Machinists on the Syntax iteration and it represents us all. I humbly request that all Machinists in support of this statement post here stating their name and faction, if they currently have one. This is not the place for debate on this topic, just a place to band together and show support. I support it completely, and as my crew mate PhreePhall does not have her own access to this communications hub, I will sign her support as well. Shinryu - The Watchmen PhreePhall - The Watchmen

Several faction mates have reported that they aren't getting XP for archived missions that have been done before with another member/player. Is it supposed to be this way or is this a bug? I can see the possibility of a loop that allows players to redo archival missions over and over again should they give more XP than normal missions, but I haven't noticed many missons that actually give more XP than normals anyway, especially conisdering that crits are often longer and (at least in the case of the old ones) harder. Then again, my RSI that has been doing the missions is 50 and I don't always see the XP I'm getting anyway... I just can't see something like this being a good thing for what is supposed to be a multi player game... I mean, teamwork is aleady discouraged (or at least not encouraged) by only the leader of the archival mission team earning the mission tickets, which does make sense. But to then go so far as to make it so that you only get a reward of any kind from doing the missions once, whether it's by yourself or with someone else? Just wanted to know what everyone thinks about this. It would make a good question in the Ask A Dev thread too.

A faction mate of mine is currently unable to get the game to run... at all. It used to run perfectly but now it won't start up, even after several attempted re-installs. I'm pretty sure I've heard of this problem before, but I didn't make note of any possible solution.
I don't have any system specs or details at the moment as it's not me that's having the problem, but any pointers or answers I can pass along would be great.
