Anyone else been hit by this? I've been without power for a day and a half, finally found a place to shower and get some hot food. And internet access of course.

Everyone's heard his voice, yet few know his face or name. He's most recently known as the "In a world" voice actor. As a fledgling voice actor and voiceover artist myself, I'm extremely saddened by his passing. I was hoping to meet him and shake his hand someday.

Rest in peace, Mr. LaFontaine. You will be missed.

My final semester of college begins in 8 hours. I know most high schools started last week or so, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone is taking this semester.

What is De Novo?

De Novo is Latin, meaning “anew”. This faction was born from the defection of ArchDuke and the entire former faction of The GoodFellas after a takeover from a former leader.

De Novo is a casual Zion faction. We do actively encourage RP and PVP and we will provide help where we can in each and every area. From helping run missions, to Hardline run-throughs, we are here to help.

De Novo’s leader is myself, ArchDuke. I have played MxO since launch and have been actively involved the entire way.

What do you get by joining De Novo?

For newer players, a faction gift of $info is given to aid in purchasing anything they may need.

A faction uniform is coded and provided free of charge, both for males and females. You are only required to wear your uniform at faction meetings or official gatherings. You are free to dress as you please otherwise.

Access to our coders’ archives of clothing. If you have a request for a particular piece of clothing, we will search our archives for one. If one can’t be found we will search around for a copy. We also frequently contribute to the clothing projects of ZaneZavin.

What is De Novo’s philosophy?

De Novo is a Zion faction, so our long-term goal is freedom for the humans in the pods that desire it. A subconscious acceptance of the Matrix’s falsified reality does not mean consent to it. That being said, we also wish and work towards a peaceful solution between all beings, be them Human, Machine, or Exile. There are many avenues to peace that we have not tried.

What rules do you have to follow to be in De Novo?

1. Treat your faction mates and other players with common courtesy and respect. In the end, we are all paying our $15/month to enjoy a video game. No uncharacteristic harassment or insulting will be tolerated.

2. If you are fortunate enough to attend a Live Event, LESIG Event, or Player Event, act maturely. Such events have common RP codes of conduct and you should follow them accordingly. If you don’t know how to act at an RP, ask.

3. Our faction is a family and a close-knit one. As such, issues may arise between faction mates. These issues should be treated and solved in a mature fashion.

I am on E. S. Posthumus's email list, and they sent me this a couple weeks ago. I immediately went on iTunes and purchased the 2-CD set. Amazing stuff, it doesn't disappoint.

**For those that don't know, E. S. Posthumus are two brothers that compose orchestral/choral music. Their song Pompeii was used for the Furious Angels' video "Angels of Vengence"**

Dear E.S. Posthumus Fan:

First of all, we would like to thank you for your loyalty and patience. We realize it has been seven years since the release of our first CD Unearthed. Many of you have stayed in touch and encouraged us to compose and record a second CD. Quite honestly, it has been your voice that has both haunted and inspired us to not only take on the task but to actually complete the project. And so, after a long journey, we humbly submit to you our second CD Cartographer.

We started writing the music for Cartographer five years ago, inspired by our fascination with archeology. We read about a map called “Piri Reis,” a compilation of ancient maps, and we found a map of the Arctic Circle, detailing bays and islands covered under ice for 6000 years. But according to historians, there wasn’t a civilization that was capable of mapping or traveling that far back in time. So a concept flashed in our minds; the fictionalized existence of a civilization from the island "Numa" 6000 years ago.”

Cartographer is a 2 CD set. We created a secret language (a Latin derivative) and wrote lyrics for each song on CD 1. The songs are sung by Luna Sans whom we discovered some time ago and swore that one day we would collaborate with. While lyrics on every song is somewhat of a departure from "Unearthed", we feel that this sound is tied to our creative evolution and we hope you can embrace it. CD 2 is a re-treatment of the songs from CD 1 and includes the world beats, chorus and orchestra that characterize the E.S. Posthumus sound. Included on CD 2 are 2 bonus tracks. We consider each CD to be a entity unto itself.

The creation of Cartographer has been a great and cathartic experience. Buried within the story of the Numadians are very personal stories of tragedy and triumph in our own lives (which could also explain the seven year gap between albums). But E.S. Posthumus’ music seeks to touch the personal in all of its listeners, to strike a chord of timeless possibility for how music can affect people. We are hoping to reach a wider audience with this release and appreciate any assistance in "spreading the word" to friends, family, colleagues, etc. Also, a review on Amazon.com would be very helpful.

I am a humble man, a temperate man, a calm man. But this takes the cake.

Recently an auction for a glitch kitty took place in the Syntax Marketplace. Thread here.

Only after winning said item was it disclosed to me that the owner possessed 2 Glitch Kitty's. I was also informed that the other runner-up bidder was offered the 2nd Kitty from the owner disguised on a 2nd account while dual-booting MxO, for almost the same amount of info and items. After I talked to the runner-up and informed him of it, I felt compelled to post this.

I am not upset for the amount of info and quantity of items I traded for it, I can farm and buy those all back. I've been wanting one for a very long time and will enjoy it. What I am upset about is the manner in which he played both myself and the other bidder into skyrocketing the price on the auction only to double his money and items. It was dirty business.

So be cautious of dealing with such people, especially when they hold something over your head for a long time, and commences in dirty-dealing just to make a buck.

And so, it is with some regret that I resign my position as a DJ at RMC:Terminal. I refuse to be a part of something that is administrated by someone that would play people just for a few extra info.

Seriously, the first one was great. Soundtrack was 100% win. This one doesn't look too campy.

A factionmate of mine is running his PB1's. Problem is is that when we pop open the boxes the enemies fail to spawn. They box just sits there, opened up, and no bloody doctors (bloody as in covered with blood. SMILEY

).

Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party

Alrighty. I'm trying to record footage for my Halloween video. Here's my gear:

512MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML42 2.4GHz 800MHz Processor
2 Ghz RAM
Windows XP Media Center 2005

And when I open up the video files, it's all glitchy on the bottom. I tried to take pictures of it, but for some reason they never show up when I save them. I'm working on updating the video drivers.

Any other suggestions?

I have a friend that's looking for a white trench coat for halloween. After about an hour of searching eBay and everywhere else nearly, I've come up empty. Does anyone know if there's a place online to look? He's looking for something similar to the White Avero Trench.

I don't think this is the wrong forum for it, but here's my situation:

I'm about to purchase a new Dell Inspiron 1720, and it comes with Vista Home Premium already installed. The graphics card is a 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT also. I've looked through the forums with regard to the Vista graphics problems, as well as the GeFore 8000 series causing massive indoor lag. I'm love seeing MxO really spec'ed out (which is why I'm getting the higher-end customizations for it), and I want to frap movies and take great screentshots.

My questions are these:

1. Should I just wipe Vista when I get the laptop in and install XP?
2. If I do that, do I have to worry about any hardware Dell might've built exclusively for Vista put into my computer, and would cause problems?
3. And are the GeForce 8600's specifically causing indoor lag like the 8800's?

I've already tried to talk to Dell myself, but they always give me someone whose primary language is not English, even when I just chat via keyboards with them. All I get is contradictory answers. I just don't want to buy this thing and MxO not look great on it like it should.

Please, O hardware gurus of this forum, help me! And thanks in advance for any help given.
